68 Chapter 67 - Leadership
After hours of practicing the power of the eyes, I can finally be use to it... But Ed hasn't really master it...
Moore came to visit us after two hours of our training and said "It will take more than years to master they power of eyes... you have to learn it daily together..." he then left us again...
Ed is still trying to work on his eyes... while I am relaxing on the grass...
"This is hopeless!" Ed said as he fall to the tall grass...
"Hey... I know you can do it..." I said to encourage him, but instead he become less encouraged...
"I am not a genius like you, Nisan..." Ed said... hearing that I feel pretty bad...
"I am not a genius..." I said...
"You are Nisan... you can learn every magic in a shot..." Ed said...
In a shot? Wait, I think all you need is just to read the incantation, and you will be able to use the magic...
"It's like... you are blessed by the gods..." Ed said as he look away... I think he feels down...
I looked away, I never knew that Magic should be practiced... well, I practice Clairvoyant, and Thunder Magic... To make them stronger... Also Illusion Magic and Enhancement Magic...
But what Ed meant is that people usually can't do it in the first shot... while I always able to use magic in my first try...

Maxim is still training Ethan and Eria non stop... I feel sorry for them...

He stood up and concentrate... While I am enjoying the breeze coming from the labyrinth floor on the previous floor...
We have to reunite with Morgan, Erin, Lisa, Precilla and Roxane... They are waiting for us and along with the hostages...
There is an hour cool down left before we can use the Teleportation Circle.
I wonder about Rick and Rin current state... they are together with Rueger and Doctor Frans heading toward Dunok...
We should meet them as early as possible...
Also, those soldiers... who are they... who sent them? Human Experiment is the worst.
"N-Nisan... I can't focus..." Ed said... I then sit on the grassfield, and see Eria waving their hand at us...

I took my staff which is beside me, and I use [GRAVITY] to lift me up and fly toward Eria... I have to fly to cross the lake without getting wet...
I landed exactly in front of her...

"How's your swordsmanship training?" I asked her with a smile to change the topic, "Great! Ethan has improve a lot! I think he is reaching Nate's and Leon's level..." Eria said with a smile... both of us are currently walking toward Ethan and Maxim...
"How about yours?" I asked Eria, "Hmmm... I successfully do 5 hit combo Maxim... previously I can only do 3 hit combo..." Eria said proudly...
"T-That is too short!" I said without thinking... and she looked angry, "Hey! It is against Maxim, the third! I bet you won't hold on 3 seconds if you fight with swordsmanship..." she said as she looked mad...
That is cute... So I laughed a little, but then she looked confused... "W-What?" She asked me... "Nothing!" I said with a smile...

And without realizing, we are in front of Maxim and Ethan... also Ed is coming closer to us...
"It seems that my Father indeed a better teacher than I am..." Maxim said... So, he was watching us since the beginning... both Ed and I nodded, seeing that he looked pretty proud...
It seems that Maxim respect his father, although both of them seems like arguing all the time...
"I have nothing else to teach you..." Maxim said, "For now..." Ethan said... and Maxim nodded, "Yes, for now... we will meet again if destiny want us to meet..." Maxim said...
I nodded, "Thanks for helping us..." I told him, but he laughed, "I did not do anything... beside, to return to Dwarven Continent, you should use your own eyes... can you?" Maxim asked me, I nodded...
"I will try..." I said, I enter the circle with Eria, Ed and Ethan...
Maxim decided to stay here... while the four of us have to go...
We bring what we brought with us... for me, it's only my staff, and my sword, Oathkeeper...
Eria bring her swords... I think she have 5 swords with her... what a true swordswoman...
Ethan bring his sword and shield, while Ed bring his sword, White Snow...
"All of you ready?" I asked the three of them... and they nodded...
"Let's return!" Ethan said, and I nodded... the four of us face Maxim... And I give him a bow, seeing that he looked surprised, "Thank you for everything..." I told him...
He did not say anything but he smiled...
I then activate my eyes easily... and face the Teleportation Circle. A beam of light hit us and it is a success! I can do it!
I can see Maxim's face starting to disappear, and it is finally gone... Afterward, the light beam is missing as well... it seems that we are in the Dwarven Continent already...
The exact same floor as the other secret floor... but then, we have another problem...
"How can we meet up with everybody else?" Ethan asked...
But suddenly, something push my back...
All of us looked behind and... "June!" All of us in unison...
She neighed happily, and she start licking me...
"J-June!" I said while pushing away June's head... Eria smiled while looking at me...
Ethan's Point of View
Now that we are back in Dwarven Kingdom... We should be...
What should we do now...
Oh! We should meet up with Morgan's group... they were holding the fort alone...
I trained too much with Maxim, and now I am a Master Tier of Valeon Style... Defensive Swordsmanship...
Maxim is really harsh when he teach us training, even Eria said that she won't be able to endure it if it goes for a month. But, he is actually a good teacher when it come to Swordsmanship... he told us every of our weakness in every of our move.
Maxim Style... That is a very annoying Swordsmanship Style... I can't hit him... even a scratch is like impossible. Maxim Style is a Swordsmanship Style that depends a lot on agility, and dodge every incoming attack, instead of parrying. Dodge and it will wore out the enemy... and it goes the same for Maxim Style in Spear Wielding...
But.... I never saw him using his spear... I wonder why... maybe I should ask him another time...
"Ethan?" Nico called my name...
"Yes?" I asked...
"What were you thinking? We called you 5x!" Nicolas said energetically...I wonder what's made him so happy...

He is going to marry Eria! I then looked at Eria, she is a Dragon Race, that serve the Ezate from Sera... become the number 1 Knight of Sera, the city of military in Perius Kingdom. And without any doubt, her skill is amazing...
Nicolas deserve having Eria... and so does Eria deserve having Nicolas... Since Nicolas loves her since the beginning... even when both of them met for the first time.

Eria and Nicolas mounted June to the carriage, while I am inside the carriage with Ed... there are a lot of thing inside the carriage, beds, storages, books, pillows, blankets, everything is messed up...
Ed let a sigh... I forget that Ed is a clean freak...
Ed then start to put everything back in order... and I decided to help him...
"Y-You shouldn't help me..." Ed said, and I am very confuse... "I told you we are friends... I am not your prince anymore... for now at least..." I told Ed, and Ed nodded, It seems that Ed never think me as his friend... I think he could even sacrifice himself for me... I don't want that...

After several hours, we finally return and see walls around the floor where the dwarfs are doing human experiments....
I can see Lisa is waiting on the wall...
Seeing us coming, she opened the gate and we are inside the fort, which is full of camps...
Lisa jumped from the wall to the top of the carriage... she is with us and guiding us to meet up with Morgan...
We can see several people walking around... but they are not the soldiers... they were the hostages.
Seeing our carriage, they all run and trying to reach us... I move to the second floor with Ed to see things clearer...
"Should we stop?" Nico asked Lisa... "No... they will meet us there..." Lisa said as she pointed out a big tent... and June stop exactly in front of the tent
Morgan came out from the tent, along with an old man... it seems that he is just a normal citizen... and he is a dwarven race...
"What took you so long!" Morgan complained... Nico is just smiling hearing that, "We found the special floor... along with Maxim..." I said as I get down from the carriage...
I then looked at the old man, and he looked back at me... he is short, and of course, because of he is a dwarven race...
"Oh! This man is one of the elder villager from the City of Hammer... Dunok..." Morgan said and the dwarf offer his hand... I took his hand and shake it...
"He is the prince of Perius Kingdom..." Morgan said to a dragon race adventurer behind him, and the adventurer translated it to the Dwarven Language...
But I can speak Dwarven Language... I can speak all of the language... dwarven, elven and beastman...
"My name is Ethan Perius..." I told the dwarf in his language, hearing that he looked surprised. The first thing he is surprised of is that I can speak their tongue, and the second one is because that I am a prince...
"You are a fugitive right now! Don't you think that you should hide?" the dwarf asked me... I nodded, "We are trying to... but at the same time, we are trying to convince Goldrac Godarmor to join our side..." I told him...

It seems that there is something wrong with my leadership indeed... But what is it... More people loves Nicolas than me...
Precilla, Roxane and Erin come and enter the tent...
"What did we miss?" Roxane asked with a smile, she seems happy seeing all of us return...
"We just talk about the new leader..." Lisa said happily... Erin, Precilla and Roxane looked at me, asking me who is the next leader... "Nicolas will be the leader..." I told them, hearing that... I can see brighter face on them...
I guess it is indeed Nicolas is a better leader... "Are you sure?" Nicolas asked me... and I nodded, "O-Of course! I think you are a better leader than me..." I told him, and he looked annoyed...
"Wait..." Ed stopped everyone... and now everyone looked at Ed... "I think... it is better that everyone vote for either Ethan or Nicolas... to make it fair..." Ed said...
Ed then looked at me with a smile...
"Hmmm... that is a better idea... I prefer that way..." Nicolas said... and now it's all up to me.
All eyes are on me...
"Sure... let's do it..." I said... and... "Old man" I called the dwarven race... and he looked at me in confusion. "We will be having an election here.. and you will be the neutral man... can you do that?" I asked him in dwarven language...
The old man nodded in understanding and we start...

"I guess the leader will remain the same..." Nicolas said to everyone, some of them looked disappointed but some looks happy, even Nicolas himself...
"Okay... then what should be our next move?" Morgan asked me happily... it seems that Morgan voted me...
"We will be helping these hostages... and return them to the surface..." I said, "But how?" Roxane asked me...
I give it a thought... there are tens of people here...
"Before that, I have something important to say..." Morgan said...
All of us looked at him, and the room becomes quite... "What is it?" I asked... "It seems that Jouvan is not a good person as we thought..." Morgan said...

I let a sigh... "Then we must hurry! Or Rin, Rick, Doctor Frans and Rueger might be in danger!" I said...
Everyone nodded in agreement...
"Also..." Morgan said... All of us looked at him, and... "They sent patrols to this place every 3 days..." Morgan said...
"And you manage to trick them?" Nicolas asked Morgan, and Morgan nodded proudly... "Then, when will be the next patrol come?" Ed asked...

How about the hostages? We can't bring them all... there are tens, even hundreds!

"But both of them has been really close for a very long time..." Erin said with full of thought...
"Nicolas finally let his feeling out..." Morgan said while letting a sigh in relieved... and everyone nodded in agreement...
Well... it won't happened if Moore did not tell us the prophecy...
Eighth was the last? Moore said Nicolas will be the last Maxwell... No...I will protect everyone in this room... even if it will take my life...
"Morgan, talk with Nico... and ask him to create a lot of woods!" I told Morgan and he nodded and left...

Thank god Ethan is still the leader, he sometimes looks so pesimistic although he is doing great. I think there are too much pressure around him, and Ethan himself is a hardworker, like Nate...
Both are very similar... 'Not yet!' is what Nate said when he is training...

I created all of the woods for the wagon, while Morgan instructed the dwarven soldiers to create a wagon for us...
They are complaining... but they can't reject our task... their life is on the edge.
I decided to question a hostages which is looking at me for quite some times already. She is a dragon race...
I call her using my hand and she come closer...

"Those soldiers are not from Dun-"

"We should talk with Jouvan, and report this to him..." Morgan said...

"I see, let him take a rest... and I want both of you to take a rest as well..." Morgan told both Eria and I...
"Why?" I asked...
"Both of you came from a long journey, at least take a rest... we need your [IGNITE] 24 hours..." Morgan said, hearing that I nodded...
So, we decided to take a rest...
Both of us left the tent but...

It seems that I sleep pretty fast, since I was so tired... Training with Maxim is harsh...
I am awake after I hear people talking... I recognized those voices... who are they...

Hearing that, I opened both of my eyes...
All I can see is Erin, Lisa and Roxane are staring at Precilla...

I decided to sit on my bed... and make them realize that I am awake... since I don't want to hear those kind of conversation any further...
I look at Eria... and she is still sleeping, and beatiful as ever, and I realize that I am holding her hand...
And somehow, my face become red... but I still hold her hand...
When I looked back at everyone...
T-They are gone already?!
I let a sigh... Just how fast they moved?!
Well, it seems that I am indeed really left behind in swordsmanship...
I then return my view to Eria...
She was sleeping on my hand, I can feel that... And now I have to wake her up...
I touch her hair... and play with it...

We prepared ourself in less than 5 minutes... I also help Eria using her armor, and they are heavy!
When we left the small tent, Ed is waiting for us already... Seeing us, he looked pretty embarassed...
I thought we are the one that should be embarassed...
"T-The wagons are all ready..." Ed said...
I nodded, "Then... what is the strategy?" Eria asked...
"Let's head to the big tent..." Ed said as he lead us to the big tent...
Eria and I followed Ed from behind... I can see the soldiers are disarmed, while surrounded by the hostages that are now equipped by weapon...
It seems that the hostages are doing fine...
"Who are guarding the hostage now?" Eria asked...
"They should be fine right? The soldiers are disarmed..." I told Eria, but Eria shook her head...
"Soldiers are trained... they might be plotting something even right now..." Eria said...
Ed looked back at us while moving forward... "Don't worry, Lisa and Erin are watching the soldiers along with the hostages, they knew the plan already..." Ed said to calmed Eria..
Eria then nodded, "I see..." she said...
We entered the big tent and see Precilla, Roxane, Ethan, and Morgan are waiting for us...
"Welcome back!" Precilla said...
"How's the sleep?" Roxane asked me with annoying smile...

All of us nodded, we know that all of the horses are not like June... June has extraordinary stamina...
"Also, there are food for each wagon... 2 weeks supplies..." Morgan explained...
"There are a total of 11 wagons... including our carriage..." Morgan said...
"While we have Eria, Nicolas, Ed, Ethan, Precilla, Roxane, Lisa, Erin and I" Morgan said...
So, there are 9 of us but there are 11 wagons...
"There are only 4 wagons we need to guard..." Morgan said...
"Are you sure?" Precilla asked...

"The most front carriage... which is June... along with Nicolas, Eria, and me, myself..." Morgan said...
Eria and I nodded in agreement...
"The second from the very front carriage will be guarded by Ethan and Ed... both of your job is relaying message from us the very front" Morgan said...
Hearing that, both of them has no problem...
"Now, to the very back of the line... will be guarded by Precilla and Roxane..." Morgan said...
Both Precilla and Roxane nodded...
"Erin and Lisa will be on the second from the very back of the line, and has the same job as Ethan and Ed..." Morgan explained...
"So, we will be moving in line?" Eria asked...
Morgan nodded, "There are some narrow passage that only a wagon size can pass through, and it is better not to change the formation..." Morgan said...
That might be wise...
"What if we are attacked from the side? On a wide terrain..." Ed asked...

Eria, Morgan and I moved to the very front carriage, which is our own carriage, and we can see June is mounted already.
Morgan jumped to the second floor of the carriage... While I enter the carriage from the first floor with Eria...
We can see a lot of stuff they put on our carriage...
At least we can still sleep on our bed...
We moved to the second floor after I put my Oathkeeper on my bed...
When we moved upstair, I can see Ethan and Ed behind us... and they are waving their hand...
"All ready!" Morgan said...

"Let's return to the surface!" he shouted... and everyone shouted a battlecry!
