Chapter 66 - The Eyes

When everyone in the floor knows about the Nicolas's and Eria's marriage... The most happy person on the floor is Clement. He is talking with Eria a lot now...

"Nisan... don't you have to talk to Eria more than Clement-tousan talk to Eria..." Ed reminded Nicolas...

Nicolas let a sigh, and Ethan laughed...

Clement Maxwell was injured really bad, until I came he suddenly woke up from his coma...

"I don't know, but Clement-tousan must be teasing me right now..." Nicolas said as he sees both Eria and Clement laughed.

"Maybe he is telling Eria your favorite food? Habit... and everything that parents know..." Ethan said. Nicolas now looked shy hearing that... "I-I could tell her by myself..." Nicolas said as he don't want his father to tell Eria about his bad habit...

While the three of them are talking, two big men come closer and join Nico, Ed and Ethan...

"Persey!" Nicolas greeted him... "Nico! Congratulation!" Persey said as he open wide his arm and he suddenly hug Nico...

"T-Thank you!" Nicolas said in surprised... after some times... "Ouch!Ouch!" Nicolas sounds hurt since Persey's hugged him so tight...

"Ah! Sorry!" Persey said as he moved back a bit and let go Nicolas...

"Hey Nicolas..." Maxim called Nico...

"What is it?" Nico asked Maxim...

"Remember the deal?" Maxim asked with a smile... Nicolas gulped, but then he nodded... "It will be four on one... are you sure about this?" Nicolas asked Maxim as he teased Maxim...

Maxim smiled with a very eerie aura. Even Ed and Ethan are on guard already... "Don't worry, I will be go easy on you all..." Maxim told Nicolas...

"I-I will call Eria..." Nicolas told everyone, and everyone smiled... "Go... call your wife..." Persey said while smiling and Nico run away...

"Isn't he too young for a God Race to marry?" Persey asked Maxim, Maxim nodded... "That's true..." Maxim said, and everyone looked at him...

"Just... trying to avoid bad things in the future..." Maxim said while facing Nicolas which is calling Eria...

Several minutes later, a huge arena is created... the floor is all surrounded by grassland, but the eastern side is the forest, and the western is the complex of houses.

The southern area is a clear grassland, which is a perfect place for battle.

Ethan stood in front of the three of them...Ed on the right flank and Eria on the left flank. Nicolas is on the safest place,

'It will be a good idea to attack him first...' Maxim thought

"Both team ready?" Persey asked...

Maxim nodded, and so does the other team...

"Make sure not to hurt them-" Clement said but Maxim stopped him immediately by saying... "I know I know..." Maxim said in annoying way...

But Clement is not brave enough to lecture Maxim, and also, Clement trust Maxim that he won't harm the kids...

"The duel starts in three..." Persey said...

Maxim prepared a sword, not the legendary sword but a normal iron sword. He was using a wooden sword previously, but now, he uses a normal sword since he acknowledge them already.

Beside, this time it was a four on one, previously Ed is not in the team.

"two..." Persey count down...

Maxim prepare his stance... and so does Ed, Ethan and Eria... Nicolas has been holding his staff before the battle...

"One..." Persey said... and...

"Start!" Persey said...

"Create... Elements!" Ed, Nicolas and Maxim said in unison... and all of their orbs popped out, we can see 5 elemental orbs behind Nicolas, and 2 elemental orbs behind Ed...

Maxim showed 2 Elemental orbs as well...

'We should keep the distance' Nicolas thought, but he forget about what he has been learning all this time...

For the first time, against the kid... Maxim activate his own eyes, and he is behind Nicolas already...

Nicolas come unprepared seeing that, but Ethan is a smart boy, he knew already that Maxim will aim for Nicolas...

He blocked Maxim attacked with his shield, and a loud sound of clash can be heard after the sword impact with Ethan's shield.

Maxim give another shot and hit Ethan with consecutive attack... Ethan is in trouble until...

"[SWIFT]" Nicolas said and the four of them increase their speed... Ethan, Eria and Ed are able to see Maxim's movement, but barely... while Nicolas, he still can't see what's going on...

"Eria!" Ethan shouted and Ethan swing his shield downward as he parried on of Maxim's attack.

By doing so Maxim sword is directed downward, while Ethan suddenly lowered his body. And surprisingly, Eria jumped by making Ethan's back as jumping point, and she could attack Maxim then and begin her special combo...

But... just after the second combo, Maxim changed the flow of the battle, and Eria is now on the defensive position...

"[GRAVITY]" I used it on Maxim, but Maxim suddenly shouted...

"Ru! Sak!" Maxim shouted, but he is too late...

Ed has casted a Barrier Magic in the four of the direction, and this time, Ed will be acting as my protector...

Eria and Ethan has built a very good team work... well, actually Ethan has a good team work with Ed as well... but in attacking, Eria has more power compared to Ed...

"Ethan! Take over!" Nicolas shouted from behind the barrier magic Ed created... Eria moved back and now Ethan moves forward.

Maxim smiled, he looked very happy... means that he will be more serious...

When Ethan moves forward, Maxim kick Ethan but Ethan covered himself with his shield.

With that, Maxim use Ethan's shield as a stepping and jump toward Nicolas immediately...

Ed is in front of Nicolas, trying to protect his brother from Maxim, but surprisingly, Eria jumped and stopped Maxim's attack with clashing her sword in the mid air...

Both of the, fall to the ground, and Eria is now in front of Ed and Nicolas...

Maxim is betweem both Eria and Ethan...

Maxim's movement speed, and jump is decreased significantly as Nicolas casted a Gravity Magic on him...

But then, Nico smiled... Maxim then looked at him in confusion, "[HIGH]" Nicolas said and hit his staff to the ground...

Out of a sudden, Maxim started to fly slowly...

'V-Very heavy!' Nicolas complained within his heart...

While Maxim smiled...

'That boy finally improved... and both Eria and Ethan has a good teamwork...' Maxim thought...

"I think I should be more serious then..." Maxim said out loud when he was lifted a meter from the ground...

Hearing that statement, everyone looked surprised...

"[DARKARENA]" Maxim shouted, and suddenly, everything in this room become dark, the entire floor...

The deers are hiding, all of them looked afraid...

And so does the four of them, but the four are keeping their stance...

"[VANISH]" Maxim said and he cloaked himself with the darkness... and he become invisible...

'What is this magic? I can barely see!' Ethan thought...

'I must be on guard, Nicolas should be the main target...' Eria thought...

'Nisan will be in danger... Maxim will aim for Nisan!' Ed thought...

'Can I use [IGNITE] to brighten the room?' Nico thought...

"'[IGNITE]" Nicolas shouted, and the staff become shiny... but then it is getting dimmer, and dimmer, and finally back to total darkness...

'I sense someone!' Ed thought and prepare his stance... also Eria did the same thing... and...

Krang!! A clash of swords happened! It was Maxim's sword and both Eria and Ed defending Nicolas...

Nicolas looked surprised with that, and so does Ethan...

"[IGNITE]" Nicolas shouted and again, the room become so bright... and there is a shadow trying to attack Nicolas...

That shadow is Maxim, Maxim with [VANISH] casted on himself become a shadow if the room is brightened....

But again, the room turns into darker... since Holy Magic is very weak in [DARKARENA]

Nicolas somehow realize this and decide not to use Holy Magic but other thing...

"[PRISON]" Nicolas said and covered the team with Walls of Earth Magic...

"Nicolas... covering ourself is not a good idea..." Ethan said inside the Wall Nicolas's made...

"We can't see anything outside... it is better that both of us can't see each other..." Nicolas said...

Eria and Ed seems to be in a full concentration... they are not talking at all but they agree with Nicolas...

Maxim is outside the [PRISON] and thinking about his next move...

'I can cut those wall into two... but it will be too dangerous for them...' Maxim thought, then he let a sigh...

'But...' he thought, 'the power from this sword won't be as strong as the Mountain Slasher right?' He asked within himself... and he smiled evilly...

=== Nicolas's Point of View ===

Inside the [PRISON]

It's been quite for sometimes, but then I can hear something...

The ground is shaking...

W-What is going on!

"M-Move aside!" Ed shouted, and Eria pushed me to the right while Ed and Ethan moved to the left...

Suddenly, the Earth Prison is divided into two... by an air force coming from behind us...

"T-That was close!" I said, but Eria looked angry...

"Hey! I can't protect you all the time! You should learn swordsmanship more!" Eria complained...

"S-Sure!" I said nervously... she is scary! But I still love her... so I give her a smile, and then she blushed...

"Hey both of you! Focus!" Ethan said... both of us return our view to the battlefield...

The [PRISON] is destroyed, and now we are on an open terrain... we can be attacked from any direction. What should I do? Should I keep doing [IGNITE]?

"[IGNITE]" I said and hit the ground with the staff and the rooms brighten up a bit... but again, it become dark in less than 5 seconds...

This is truly a nightmare for a Holy Mage...

'I have to take them out more seriously this time...' Maxim thought...

'Let's make them passed out one by one...' Maxim have the thought...

On the other side...

"I-I can see him!" Ed said... All of us looked at Ed in confusion...

But then I realize something wrong with his eyes...

"E-Ed! What's wrong with your eyes?" I asked Ed... but before answering... he parried an attack that was directed to me out of nowhere...

Maxim looked surprised after Ed successfully blocked his serious attack... but then he sees Ed's eyes...

He decided to stop the battle...

The DARKARENA vanished at once, and the room become brighter... and eventually return to normal floor...

"W-What's happening?!" Clement asked in confusion, but then he saw Ed standing right in front of Maxim... While Maxim taking a close look at Ed...

"W-What are they doing?" Clement asked Persey, and Persey raise both of his shoulder...

"Don't know... lets check them out..." Maxim said, and both of them decided to come and check what has happened...

Everyone is looking at Ed's eyes... when Clement and Persey came, the eyes are still active...

It is like the Maxwell's eyes when it shines but it has a weird sign... or even writing... "Emperor" Nicolas read it by himself...

"Nicolas! Knock that tree thrice!" Maxim order Nicolas to knock the Yggdrasil thrice, and without thinking any further, Nicolas run toward the tree in the middle of the floor...

"Ed? Are you okay?" Ethan asked Ed... and Ed nodded, "I feel normal... just what is happening with my eyes?" Ed sounds confuse...

"Hmmm it shines and there is a letter 'Emperor' written on it..." Eria told him... "But I don't really feel anything..." Ed said in confusion...

Maxim then said an incantation that we can't hear... and it seems very fast...

"[VANISH]" He said and he suddenly disappeared... everyone can't see him, but...

Ed... he is looking anywhere Maxim go when he is invisible...

Maxim become much more confuse and Maxim look into the direction of the tree where he asked Nicolas to head to...

He is with a man with tall figure... he is not muscular, but a slender man and he seems to be a smart person... Moore Maxwell...

Both Nicolas and Moore are hit by the light beam, seeing that for the first time, Tousan and Persey looked confused...

"Is that him?" Tousan asked Ed, and Ed nodded... Ed has told about Moore to Clement and Persey, but he did not tell them about Teleportation Magic... which is why both of them surprised...

Both Nicolas and Moore landed in front of Ed... and Moore immediately raise Ed's chin... and he looked into Ed's eyes...

=== Nicolas's Point of View ===

He seems like to know something...

Moore is staring at Ed with his sharp eyes...

"I don't know anything about this eye..." Moore said, and all of us looked really disappointed after seeing all of his seriousness...

"Really? You never seen something like this?" Maxim asked Moore, and Moore nodded...

I am pretty disappointed with Moore... but what do you expect, that is a real mysterious eyes...

"E-Excuse me..." Tousan said while standing in front of Moore... Moore then stare Tousan with a scary glance, even Tousan looked a bit hesitating...

"A-Are you the one that saving us?" Tousan asked with a bit nervous, but Moore nodded casually...

"We were dead... But you saved us..." Persey said as he bow in front of Maxim... while Tousan, his body is still injured, so he can't...

"I brought both of you for a reason..." Moore said

"Dead? Wait... So!" I said in excitement...

There is a Revival Spell?!?

"No... there is no such thing..." Moore said...

"What?!" All of us in unison...

"T-Then! How did you revive them?" Ethan asked Moore. Moore then looked a bit troubled... like he was hesitating...

"Y-You were still alive when I give a visit..." Moore said...

I see! So Healing Magic is all they need!

Everyone seems to be convinced by Moore's words, but one person... Maxim...

"There is a revival spell..." Maxim told all of us, and all of us looked at him speechlessly... including Moore...

Moore's face is... looked so angry...

"You must not say such thing!" Moore told Maxim, but Maxim ignored him... "You should return to your own grave!" Maxim told Moore... but Moore looked surprised...

He then hit his own forehead with his palm...

All of us looked at Moore in confusion...

"Tell them Tousan...." Maxim told Moore, Moore looked annoyed, but he finally let a sigh...

"Fine..." Moore said...

Everyone become excited then, but Moore...

"How many kind of magic do you know in this world?" Moore asked everyone,

"Elemental Magic?" Eria asked, Moore nodded... "Fusion Magic?" Ed asked, Moore give us another nod...

"There are Elemental Magic, Fusion Magic, Elemental Fighting Magic, Barrier Magic, Nullifying Magic" Moore explained...

All of us nodded, "But..." he said

"There are several kind of magic that is not recognized by every kingdom... such as, Enhancement Magic... and Voice Magic..." Moore explained...

"Why?" Ed asked, "Why?" Moore asked back...

"Try to imagine if people could use Enhancement Magic... then those kind of people won't need to buy staff, and could just create it by themselves!" Moore said...

All of us give a thought... since we never give a thought about something like that...

"Voice Magic is a specially rare magic... Maxim is the only one that could use it..." Moore explained and all of us looked at Maxim. Maxim then looked very proud... he is so childish...

"And, Revival Magic..." Moore said...

Everyone looked excited... "Then!" I said... "We can revive Grandpa?!" I said... hearing my thought, Ed is agree as well...

"I-Is that really possible?!" Ed asked... Moore nodded...

"In a cost of your own life, you will return the life the person you want to revive..." Moore said with flat face...

"Which is why, that this magic is forbidden... and the scroll to learn this magic has gone..." Moore explained...

"Wait!" Ethan said, and everyone looked at him...

"How can you use it then? I mean... you casted the Revival Spell at Clement and Persey, but you are here..." Ethan said...

T-That is true! He should be dead already! But... he is dead!

"Because I am dead already..." Moore explained... realizing that, everyone nodded...

S-So! We can bring Grandpa here! And make Moore do his magic!!

"And one more thing..." Moore said... he looked at me...

It seems that he don't want me to be so happy...

All of us return our view at him... "The spell will only work for those who are dead within a day..." Moore explained...

Hearing that, it breaks my heart...

Eria hold my shoulder... and when I face her, she showed me a small smile... and I return the smile...

"Your grandpa..." Moore called me while pointing at me, and I return my direction to him... "What did he do?" Moore asked me, hearing that I am surprised...

"Why? Is your dead not epic enough?" Maxim teased Moore, and Moore is annoyed...

"E-Every Maxwell will not die in vain... I believe he died in heroic way..." Moore explained...

"He is a hero already... and way more heroic than what you did..." Maxim teased his Tousan again, and somehow the stiff Moore become weird...

"R-Really? T-That's impossible! W-Whata did he do?" Moore asked me... but again, Maxim annoyed him...

"He saved Beastman Kingdom from Navroth's hand during the Great War 2..." Maxim said,

"And?" Moore asked him to continue...

"Well, he invented the Fusion Magic... which is now can be teach to everyone else..." Maxim said

Moore remain silent...

"He also found the Auxillium Staff, which was under Navroth's hand last year..." Maxim said...

Moore then remain silent...

"Then, why he could die?" Moore asked Maxim...

Maxim then looked at me... asking me to continue his story...

Moore then faced me... "Tell me..." Moore said

"He fought against 10 S Ranked Assassins... and killed after using his final move..." I told him...

"[NATURALSELECTION]... a Wood Magic that kill everyone he thought as his enemy... in this case is Navroth's troops... and he casted to the whole city of Haven..." I said...

Hearing that he looks pretty interested...

Hearing that all of us become confuse...

"You have to retake Dwarven Kingdom..." Maxim told me, and I nodded...

I looked at both Persey and Tousan, both of them are injured...

"C-Can you take both of them..." I asked Maxim in front of everyone, hearing that, Tousan looked very disagree...

"NO! I will stay with you!" Tousan said... but Ethan helped me...

"Nate and Nathalia is waiting for you..." Ethan said, hearing that Tousan is a bit worried...

But then he encourage himself...

"Both of them are with my brother, both will be fine..." Tousan said, "But you... you and Ed are out there... I won't be leaving both of you do the work..." Tousan said...

As usual, he is as kind as ever but...

"Here... take this..." Maxim said as he threw a ring to Tousan, and he catched it...

"What is it?" Tousan asked Maxim, and I know what that ring is...

That is the Teleportation Ring...

"A Clairvoyant Ring..." Maxim said...

T-Tousan won't fall with that tricks...

All of us looked at him in confusion... But Tousan looked so happy, "You can see both Nate and Nathalia... all you need to do is just say 'Activate'" Maxim said with a smile, but Tousan is looking at the ring happily. Even Persey put a suspicion on Maxim, but Maxim intimidate Persey and Persey remains silent...

W-Wait?! Will he fall for it?!

"Activate!" Tousan said while holding the ring and he looks very happy...

And suddenly a light beam hit him from the sky...

He is gone... seeing that everyone showed a disbelief face... H-He fell for it!!

Maxim laughed really loud then... and even Ethan laughed...

Persey just... looked speechless...

I decided to give Persey my ring... "Here..." I told him...

"Another Teleportation Ring?" Persey asked me, I nodded...

"Julian needs you more than ever..." I told him, and he give me a nod... "Thank you..." He said with a smile...

I nodded, "No problem... just go and meet him..." I said and he nodded...

"Activate..." Persey said as he put the ring on his finger... and another light beam hit him and teleported him to another place...

But then I remembered...

"H-How can both of them being teleported?!" I asked

We are in Neku's Secret Labyrinth... which mean that there are Barrier Magic inside this place...

"Nisan?" Ed showed a disappointed face...

"W-What?!" I asked... "I just don't understand..." I said

Eria looked confused as well... but Ethan looked disappointed in both of us...

"If a friend cast a Barrier Magic in front of you... you can still attack your enemy with magic right?" Ed asked me...

I nodded...

"Ah!! I see!!" I said...

So... Barrier Magic won't let any magic attack the front barrier, but it can release magic or spell from the behind of the barrier

"I am thankful that there is a smart Maxwell between the three of you..." Maxim said with relieved...

I-Is he teasing me?!

"H-Hey! I am not dumb! I just forget several things..." I told Maxim...

"The three of you?? You mean?" Ed said...

Maxim nodded...

"Your little brother is worse..." Maxim said... and I can't help but laughing...

And now Ed is laughing at me... but seeing him laughing is not funny, but a rare moment... even Maxim stop breathing when seeing Ed laughed...

After a few second...

All of us laughed seeing that...

We then continue our journey, but while waiting for 24h so that the cooldown of the teleportation is done, we eat and sleep on that floor...

Maxim is teaching us a lot of different things to Ethan, Eria and Ed... but me...

"Nicolas! Concentrate more!!"

"Nico! You are the first bloodline!"

"Arghh... Maxwell will stop in your generation..."

Maxim is lecturing me harder than anyone else... And I am trying to control my eyes...

I let myself fall to the grass...

"I've tried that for days! And it didn't work!" I said

Maxim will be staying in Human Continent... we are actually in Human Continent right now, and it took only a day for us to return to Dwarven Kingdom...

"Maxim told me that he will not teleported us... and I have to do it with my own eyes" I said and I give another knock on the tree where I am laying on...

"W-What?!!?" I said in surprised since a light beam hit the ground in front of me...

"N-Nisan... Y-You called him!" Ed said after seeing that light...

A man with tall posture looked at me... he has a red eyes and he looked scary...

"I don't sense any danger here... what is it?" Moore asked me

"I-I accidentally summoned you..." I told him

Hearing that, Moore looked annoyed...

But suddenly he asked me, "You are having a trouble..." Moore said

"W-What trouble?" I asked... Ed looked at me in confusion... "You can't control your eyes Nisan..." Ed said...

"O-Oh! That trouble..." I said

I thought there is a big danger that he has foreseen happening right now...

I return my view to Moore... and he looked at me speechlessly...

"How old are you?" Moore asked me...

"19" I said

"And you can't control your own eyes?" He asked me with a bit worried...

I let a sigh...

"I live with Clement-tousan since I was born..." I told him, and he suddenly stopped me...

"That is not the problem here... the problem is that you can't use it... let me teach you..." Moore said

"Y-You will teach me?!" I asked him excitedly, and he nodded...

"I am going to teach him how to control his eyes..." Moore explained...

T-That could take years!

"No... he is different..." Moore said, but Maxim still trying his best to deny that... "What do you mean?" He asked...

"You lived with me... and you used to see me doing teleporting using my eyes... but him... he is raised as a normal kid, in a normal family..." Moore explained...

"When you fought Maxim in the dark, you force yourself to find him... and it will activate by itself..." Moore said...

"I know... but I can't still control it..." Ed said, Moore nodded... "It took years.. for normal age..." Maxim said...

"But you are pretty fast..." Moore said as he faced Maxim...

"Yeah, said someone who can do it in the age of four..." Maxim said with annoyed face... and Moore laughed...

H-He can laugh?!

He is always very serious...

"Can you do it?" Moore asked me...

I nodded, "I think I can try it..." I said, and Maxim looked at me with disappointment...

"Are you sure not letting him to learn by himself?" Maxim asked Moore... and Moore nodded... "Trust me, I am pretty a good parent..." Moore said with flat face... seeing that, it is quite funny...

Even Maxim laughed...

"What is that for?" Moore asked

Now we split into two, Ethan and Eria train with Maxim
