Struggles With His Hair

Elsie arrived at the spot she was deemed to meet the two, only to find Olive with a bleeding stomach carried in a bridal style by Zarin.

She rapidly rushed up to them and anxiously examined her, "Is-is she okay?"

"She's fine, just that she has lost a lot of blood and she needs to be treated!" Zarin frowned as concern was written all over his face.

"Why didn't she heal herself?"

"We were trying to fight off those men so she didn't have much time to heal, but at the very least, she is still alive." Zarin shooked his head as he sighed. "We need to take her for treatment."

"We need to get her back to the inn first," Elsie aided Zarin in carrying Olive who was unconscious back to the inn. It took them an hour or so before they made it back. They would have teleported if they could. But none of them has made it to the Ninth level. For a demon to teleport, he or she must be a Ninth level cultivator and above.

Zarin gently laid Olive on the bed and Elsie rushed back with a soaked clothe and placed it on her stomach to stop the bleeding for a while. They took care of Olive throughout that day, and she gradually recouped consciousness, however, she was still so vulnerable to heal herself. She would sometimes tiredly lose consciousness again.

Now, this was one of the reasons why Earth was better than this world. If it was on Earth, Olive would have been treated in a hospital! A hospital!

...

In the middle of the night, while they were asleep, Elsie woke up and evacuated the house, and dashed into the woods. She ran unstoppable until an old brownish house came into view.

It has been a day since she last came to this house so she took a deep breath before stepping into the house. It was really funny how the outside of this house looked bad but the inside looked quite simple and nice.

Her eyes darted around the house but she found no one. Everywhere was quiet, except the faint sound of dripping water.

"Hmm... " She walked up the stairs and opened the first door that came into sight. Slowly, she slipped her skinny body inside while biting her lower lip.

She closed the door and turned around only for her body to still from what she saw.

A young man with his upper body bare, struggling with his wet hair!

It was naturally Damien. He was rummaging his jet-black curly hair. But the comb wasn't coming through at all, it just gets stuck and tangled in his hair.

Elsie's eyes trailed up his bare upper body and stopped on his rosy lips which he was biting tightly out of frustration.

She couldn't help but feel butterflies in her stomach and an urge to laugh at how childlike he looked.

Damien who didn't notice the young girl step in was still toiling with his long curly hair. Dammit, if he had learned how to comb this stupid hair of his instead of allowing his maids to do it for him, maybe he wouldn't be having any trouble doing it himself now!

He tried many times but couldn't comb the stupid hair and out of frustration he threw the comb away which almost hit Elsie if she hadn't dodged it.

He looked up and saw the skinny girl in front of the door, with a shade of red on her cheeks. Why is she blushing? Damien who couldn't comprehend peeked down his body only to realize his upper body was still bare.

"I see you're having trouble with your hair, I can be of help," Elsie smiled awkwardly as she tried to hide her reddish face.

"What are you doing here, didn't I tell you not to come back here." Damien's face turned gloomy the instant he saw her. What was she doing here again after he warned her not to come back here?

"I can help you with your hair," She ignored him and went to pick up the comb which he threw away.

"Do you know how to handle curly hair?" Damien raised one of his brows in doubt.

Elsie nodded her head furiously and walked over to him. She signaled him to sit down on the chair beside the brownish table so she could comb his hair. He was taller than her. She wasn't quite the tall type neither was she short just average.

Damien narrowed his eyes and without bothering to wear his shirt, he strolled towards the chair and sat down waiting for her next action.

Elsie gently picked up the towel from the bed inside the room and ambled towards him. She placed it on his head and commenced to dry his hair. "Before you comb your hair, you have to dry it first. Curly hair is different from straight hair because you can comb straight hair whether wet or not but you can't on curly hair."

She smiled and gently crossed her hand over to drop the towel in his hand. Then she picked up a brush instead of a comb and gave him a slight brushing then proceeded to gradually comb it till It was fully combed.

He watched her every action from the mirror. He needed to learn this as she wouldn't be here to comb his hair all the time.

His eyes glanced at her hands which would unknowingly brush his bare neck and shoulder. He couldn't help but feel tingly wherever her hand brushed past on his shoulder. What was wrong with him? Why was he feeling tingly? He couldn't help but glance at Elsie through the mirror only to see her face flushing as red as a tomato. Why is she blushing so badly?

Elsie who was combing his hair abruptly stopped. "Am done." She quickly turned around to hide her face which was as red as a tomato. What was wrong with her? This was the first time she was blushing this hard. Even during her time in high school on Earth, she never blushed this hard the first time the hottest boy in school talked to her.

"Thank you. Now say what you want." Damien swerved her around to face him and saw her face which still had a light shade of red.

"I... I need you to heal my friend, she's badly hurt," She tightly bit her rosy lips as anxiousness crossed her eyes. She wasn't sure if he would agree. This was the reason she came here.

Damien gazed at her for a while and narrowed his eyes as though he was contemplating something, "Alright, since you unraveled my hair problem, I will do this one favor for you, but don't ever, I repeat don't ever ask for such again!"

"Really! Oh my gosh thank you so much," Happiness surged within her as a smile formed on her lips. "You don't need to fret, am only asking for this one last time."

Damien ignored her as his face remained indifferent, "Where is this friend of yours?"

"At my place."

"Bring her here." He walked over to the bed and picked up his shirt. Then he slid into it and buttoned it up.

"Uhm... We can't move her about, she's in an unstable state." Elsie fiddled with her fingers anxiously. Was he going to forfeit helping her now?

Damien rolled his eyes and walked up to her, took her by the hand, and teleported them away.

Elsie who was being teleported away, couldn't help but chuckle when she saw him roll his eyes. He looked like an adorable little boy when he did that.

Damien glanced at her with an indifferent face, "If you want to save your friend, better stop smiling."
