A lonely man

They appeared at the inn and Elsie hurriedly took Damien to take a look at Olive.

He glanced at the resting Olive and instantly narrowed his eyes into a thin line, then he swerved towards Elsie, "Go and get a healing ointment oil, do not take up to an hour."

Elsie nodded furiously and dashed out of the inn.

While Elsie left the inn, Damien glanced at Zarin who was gazing at him with narrowed eyes as he strolled towards Olive.

He gently untied the clothe that was tied to her belly to stop the bleeding, then rested his hand on her and shut his eyes closed.

Faint blue flames transmitted into Olive's body and not a moment passed before she suddenly opened her eyes which were dilated as a saucer.

Blood flushed through her face, as a painful scream left her mouth. She tightly held onto Damien's hand to stop him from doing what he was doing, but Damien ignored her and continued what he was doing.

Her face flushed deep red as veins popped up on her neck. She gritted her teeth, trying to endure the agony but it was just too painful.

She threw her head back as unbearable tears fell from her eyes and grabbed the bed sheet, gripping it tightly.

Zarin who was watching her scream in pain scrambled towards her and clutched her hand and caressed her back, soothing her, "Just hold on for a little bit more, and you will be fine."

Olive nodded furiously with gritted teeth. She gazed into his eyes and something unknown flashed across her grayish eyes.

The torture lasted for two minutes, before Damien opened his eyes, and withdrew his hand from her belly. He glanced at Olive who had perspiration all over her body and tenderness flashed across his eyes, "How are you feeling now?"

Olive raised her eyes to peer at him and instantly stilled from shock. Was this a man or a woman? No, he was a man but he looked just like a woman except for his slim manly body.

Where in the world did this fine man come from! Olive flickered her eyes and a smile formed on her lips, "I feel so much better. Thank you."

Damien nodded and turned around to leave, "If she comes back, tell her not to come to find me."

Olive nodded without squinting her eyes as she watched the young man teleport away.

She turned towards Zarin and a smile formed on her lips, she darted her eyes around, not sure of what to say, "Tha-thank you." She was grateful because if not for Zarin, she might have lost her life during the time they were battling those men.

Zarin chuckled, as he took a towel and wiped off the perspirations on her face, "It's ok... Am glad you're fine now."

.....

Elsie who went to buy the ointment wandered the half of the market searching for the ointment which took her up to thirty minutes before she finally found one in an old woman's shop.

A delighted smile crossed her face, as she dashed back to the inn with the ointment bottle in her hands.

She walked in and found Olive who was sitting on the bed with a raised eyebrow.

The minute Elsie walked in, she scurried towards her and dragged her to sit beside her on the bed.

"Alright spill it! Who is he?" Olive bit her lips with a grin on her lips.

"Huh?... Wh-who are you talking about?" Elsie fiddled with the ointment bottle in her hands. What was she to tell them now? That he was her mate or what?

"Yaa... Aren't we your friends? Common share it with us!" Olive nudged her as a cheerful smile formed on her face.

Elsie raised her eyes to glance at Zarin only to see him with a raised eyebrow, also requesting an answer to that too.

"Well... He-he is my Mate." She tightly bit her lips, with her head bent down.

"What... Damn!!," Olive stared at her for a while before a smirk crept up her lips. "Girl you're lucky. You gat a hot mate!"

Elsie glanced at her and chuckled awkwardly, "Alright enough about him," She handed the healing ointment over to Olive, "Apply it on your stomach."

Olive took the bottle from her and examined it before nodding, "Thanks."

Elsie nodded and ambled out of the inn. She couldn't help but recall the message Olive gave to her by Damien. Her eyes raised to the sky and glanced at the sun that was slowly setting.

"Even if he doesn't want me to find him, I still need to thank him," She nodded her head and dashed into the woods.

Once again, she arrived at the brownish house and walked in. Her eyes surveyed the house and she made her way upstairs. That room upstairs was where he always was.

She shut the door close and turned only to see Damien lying on the bed with his hair scattered all over the bed. The fine hair she had done for him!

She walked closer and leaned to get a closer look at him.

She stared at his face for a while and suddenly traced his face with her finger.

Elsie wondered how she should depict his look, because no matter which word she thought of, it couldn't define how God-like this man looked.

It's just, to other people he looked heaven dying and beautiful, but to her, the handsomeness she sees in him is just how he makes her feel and the way he looks like an adorable little boy when he's frustrated. The little details on him are what she finds beautiful and alluring.

Her fingers slowly caressed his face and she suddenly remembered the first time they met. It was a brutal meeting!

Why didn't their first meeting turn out like the one she reads in novels and sees in movies. You know, where they meet romantically and the girl eyes the boy and the boys looks at the girl with the complicated look and love slowly form from there.

But noo! Her own had to be brutal! Who fights with their mates or soul mates, whichever one

on their first meeting? So ludicrous!

While her thoughts were wandering off, her hand was suddenly yanked, and before she could process what was going on, she was flipped over and now under someone. Raising her eyes, saw Damien on top of her with cold chilly eyes.

"Are you done caressing my face?" His face instantly turned gloomy as his cold eyes glared at her. "Don't ever touch my face again! I will cut your hands off, the next time you do!"

Elsie was dormant as shock was written all over her face. Why was he suddenly this cold to her? Even the day they fought, he wasn't this cold to her at all! What happened?

Her eyes moved to his and gazed deep into his eyes, It was very bluish or silver, she just couldn't tell. The last time she saw his eyes, it was a ruby red color. It is as though his eyes change color now and then.

Deep in his eyes, She could see an ice-cold mountain with a lonely young man who seemed to be lost and dispirited. He looked as though he had lost something very precious, to him.

Something hit Elsie deep down within her heart that she had no idea when her eyes began to water. She was being affected emotionally as she could feel the pain, the loneliness, the emotions that, that man in an ice-cold mountain was feeling.

She sniff and raised her finger to caress his face, "Is-is that you?"

Without giving her an answer, Damien leaped off her and glared at her with a cold face, "What are you doing here? Didn't I tell you not to come here?"

Hot teardrop trickled down her face as she sat up, "Was that you? The person I saw in your eyes, was that you?" She gazed deeply at him ignoring his question. She wanted to know! She needed to know!

"I don't know how you saw all that, but it is none of your business, you shouldn't care about it," He turned around leaving his back facing her.

Elsie took a deep breath and walked around him to stand in front of him. She gazed at him waiting for an answer.

"Leave, before I lose my temper!" He glanced at her with cold eyes, "I do not want to see you ever again, and don't step your feet into this house again, do you understand?"

"I-i just came here because I wanted to say thank you," Elsie gazed at him and with a deep breath, she turned around and left. She felt very hurt by what he said. Well, he is her mate, and of course, she has feelings for him but why doesn't he?
