Something is missing

"Which ambulance was sent to the address? " Jake asks.

They didn't get the exact vehicle number but the driver who was told to go.

"Take us to him." Jake says.

The ground floor was occupied by a number of cars and two wheelers. They walked through the path made by the cars on both sides. It paved their way to an area where ambulances were lined up in a row. Rita called out for someone as she stopped in front of a small room;probably the locker room for these drivers.

She waited in front of the door and after sometime a person wearing a striped uniform appeared. "Yes? " He said.

"They have a few words with you? "She said.

" Oh, sure! "

Rita leaves him to Jake and Sid and runs towards the building.

"So, you were sent to this address? " Sid shows him the small paper. As the person reads it thoroughly again and again he's eyebrows rose up. He's previously relaxed expression changed within seconds. Anyone could clearly see how anxious he was.

"What? Do you know something? " Jake asks as he snatches the paper from the person.

"Who….who are you guys? " He asked in a little shaky voice.

"That doesn't matter. Answer us first. " Sid puts his hand on the unknown person's shoulder so that he could not even think of running away.

"Aah… actually what happened is that there was no one in that house. I went there but I couldn't see anyone there. Someone must have tricked us. These days people think it's funny to call up these emergency numbers, especially kids. " He laughed.

"Emergency call, huh! " Jake says with a smirk.

"Yeah! "

"What we heard was that someone came here and informed us about the accident. How can there be a call? "

"Oh, yes yes. I remember. This happens so much to us nowadays, so I got confused. Yes a person asked us to go to that location. " And laughs again.

"So what happened there? " Sid asks.

"No one was there. Maybe he mistakenly told us. Yeah. "

They stared at the person who was undoubtedly lying to them straight to their faces. Now even faking his laugh amidst the fear he's holding back inside.

"Okay."They say in unison.

" Okay " was about to leave but Sid pulled him with his collar backwards."now what? "He blurted.

" We're not finished yet, dude. "

"What else do you want to know"

"Tell us. What did you do with him? "

"I did nothing. I mean how can I do something, when there was no one in that house. Believe me!"

"Fine, we believe you. What was the house like,do you remember? "Jake asks.

" Aah….it was a small place….i guess. I don't remember anything. It was dark. "

"Since you went there did someone see you?As far as I know, you have these sirens which are enough to wake someone up. "

"Yeah, but no one was there. Maybe they were deep asleep. "

"Well… that person who you think was not there is dead now! "

"What! "

"Yeah. So, don't even think of running away. We'll need you anytime. Got it? " Sid says.

"Umm… okay" He says and somehow releases himself from Sid's grab.

"Let's leave now" Sid says and looks back at the person with "your name and phone number" as he hands his phone to him.

He typed quickly and handed it back to Sid and walked away in a hurry.

"This guy surely has something to do with this! "

"Definitely" Jake agrees.

In the meeting room;

"We have asked in the neighborhood and strangely no one knows that an ambulance came there. They even say that they have not seen an ambulance in that area for ages now! " Sam says.

"It seems to be a no accident zone"Jake states.

" We are missing something. It's clearly visible how perfectly planned it is but we just can't prove it…." Dayal says as he turns the pages of the case file. Suddenly he stops at a certain page and reads it with his fingers running along with his eyes.

"What is it? " Loy who has now joined the team again says as he could see Dayals face all tensed.

"This.How can I miss this one?"

Everyone gathers around Mr. Dayal to see what he found. The report said that the victim was found on his bedroom floor soaked in blood. They saw it by themselves, but what comes to one's mind when we think of Kunal's statement is that he could clearly hear their argument, as if they were fighting in the Hall itself.

"The bedroom was I guess on the other side of the hall making it more distant from the main gate.A person standing outside the house can only hear things happening in the nearest rooms,that too faintly. " He says.

"So Mr. Carl was back to his senses after sometime because he was just hit once to make him pass out but not to die! "Sam blurted.

" Yes! "

"Then what happened after that. Is that driver saying the truth? " Jake says as he takes a seat just beside Dayal.
