"Anyway, what about your parents?" Raiden asked to change the mood.
"They are fine. They are currently not in Japan."
"Oh, why is that?"
"They had to leave Japan urgently due to family reasons."
"Oh, got it! So you two were living alone?"
"Yeah, it hasn't been many days since they left and now we have this problem to take care of."
"That's really tough."
"Nope. Not as bad as you guys had it. I can't even imagine what you went through these past 7 days. It must have been horrible."
"It was. But, I can't always keep on dwelling on the past. If we wanna survive this, we gotta put our emotions aside and defeat all our fears. That's the only way to stay alive now. And, whatever happens, or whatever I gotta do. I won't let any more of my friends die. Ever again."
Sheila looked toward Raiden with admiration. His eyes were full of determination. Sheila could tell that he had lost something precious of his and didn't want the same kind of fate for another time. He was ready to do anything to change that fate.
Sheila wanted to give him some faith, too. "Don't worry. We are all in this together and we will take care of each other. No one will have to die. Ever again."
She put up a smile to back up her words.
Her smile worked like a magic charm for Raiden, which made his heart a little more relieved.
"Yeah, things will work out sooner," Raiden said with a little bit of smile of hope on his face.
"Ahhhhh man, you guys talk way too much," Jun said with a big yawn at the end.
He had finally woken up.
"Slept well?" Raiden asked.
"Yeah, even on this sofa, I had a decent sleep."
"Go and wash your mouth already. You stink," Sheila remarked.
"Can you stop being mean to me for once?"
"Never!" Sheila said as she left the room in a hurry.
Raiden saw her leave and he turned around to ask Jun, "Damn, she looks angry. Did something happen between you two?"
"Yeah, we had a little fight and looks like she is still mad."
"What was the fight for?"
"Ahhh, well, actually," Jun rubbed the back of his head. "I ate all of her favourite pudding."
Raiden burst out in laughter. "That's it?" He barely managed to ask that question while continuously laughing.
"Yeah, she usually is really kind and all but if you mess around with her pudding then you might just see hell."
"Ahh man, I did not see that coming at all," He finally got a hold of his contagious laughter.
"Who is making all that fuss?" A whisper came under the blanket that was on a big sofa.
The blanket shifted off and a face was revealed. It was Makie. "Can't you guys even shut up for a second?" She erupted angrily.
"Oh did you think it was a dreamland that you could sleep all day?" Raiden commented. "Wake the hell up Maki."
Makie threw away the blanket and sat down on the sofa, "Hey! You don't have to tell me that and STOP CALLING ME MAKI."
"Okay! Okay! You don't have to shout. I will just leave," Raiden stood up and aimed for the exit. "And, don't forget to brush up your teeth, Maki. They stink."
Makie erupted in anger on her sofa. "WAIT! RAIDEN!"
But, Raiden had long gone by that point.
"This guy has some nerves," Makie murmured as she settled down.
And, this time Jun was the one who couldn't stop his laughter.
"Hey! Stop it," Makie insisted.
Jun tried to keep his laugh in, "I'm sorry. I just couldn't hold on," He wiped down the tears which he had from laughing. "But, what a great start to a day."
"Yeah, I don't know about that. I saw Raiden's face first thing in the morning so don't know how my day will go."
"Oh, I'm sure it will just go as good as it gets," Jun said sarcastically.
Makie let out a sigh, "Anyway, how was your day going past these days?"
"Going alright, nothing crazy happened. We just stayed inside and never took a foot out."
"What were you going to do if we never came here?" Makie asked, implying what she could have done inside the school if Raiden never came to pick them up.
"Actually, I don't know. With just the two of us, I had all the responsibilities. I know that Sheila is probably more fit in everything to take the responsibilities but as a man or rather as her brother I can't just sit down and put all the burden on her shoulders. She wanted to get out but I insisted her to wait around for a few more days. And, look it worked out. We have you guys now. And, after seeing Raiden and Toshi, I finally got a decent sleep in these days. It felt like all the burden got off of my shoulders."
"Well, yeah, you can definitely rely on those guys," She avoided eye contact as she never complimented those two but doing it for the first time made her embarrassed.
"Yup," Jun agreed with a smile on his face.
Later, he stood up, holding his stomach, "I'm hungry."
Makie chuckled, "You just woke up and you wanna eat?"
"Well, why not? Can't I do that?"
"Okay! Okay! Go and eat."
Everyone in the house got fresh up and was ready to begin their day.
Jun insisted Sheila to make breakfast for him. But, she declined breakfast for him and agreed to make it for everyone else.
They all sit around the dining table awaiting their breakfast.
Toshi had joined in the kitchen to help Sheila out in the making of the breakfast.
They both made breakfast and the other three had fun chatting at the dining table. Later, both Toshi and Sheila joined them too along with the breakfast they had prepared.
They all enjoyed it together.
After all the trouble they all had gone through those past days, they finally could have some fun.
They had to move on from whatever was left behind in their past. That was their final option left. Or else, they would break apart.
They tried to enjoy every single moment of happiness which came to them.
But, how long was this happiness going to last?
It had to go away... someday.
