Chapter 15: Massacre!!!

The Anaconda sped out of the forest and dashed into an open path before skidding to a halt.

The speed with which it had moved and how it angled itself among trees and shrubs, had made the people being carried on its huge body have their hair messed up or coming in contact with all manners of debris that made it a mess.

Cherry was in the worse state, as her tied-up hair was completely exposed and swaying with the wind.

The hair carried little wood waste and some leaves, which were poking out irregularly.

Kendra on the other hand pulled water from the atmosphere and used it to clean her hair.

Dice had a short haircut, so his hair was relatively fine.

Lancelot was still unconscious, in a sleep-like, meditative state, his eyelids which were shut were showing a faint glow from beneath it.

Kendra used her powers to lower Lancelot and herself from the Anaconda while the rest jumped off at a convenient height.

Cherry ran towards Lancelot as he lay unconscious on the ground, as she got closer she couldn't help the panic rising within her.

"What's wrong with him?", she asked without directing her question to anybody in particular.

"He has entered a deep meditative state, we can't disturb him now but to wait till he regains consciousness, the power of the hook was too powerful, his body might need some time to adjust."

Kendra responded without a hitch in her voice pitch.

She straightened out her hands and turned towards the Anaconda who had kept silent and observed.

The thunderous voice of the snake beast came forth,

"After my mission to protect the hook, I am also tasked with guarding the forest, this is as far as I can go, and unless Lancelot commands me, no one else can break me free of my mission to protect the forest."

"My farewell goes to all of you, the air nation laid an ambush for anyone going to any of the major elemental nations, and I doubt the water nation would be an exemption"

The huge beast then turned after bowing and sped off into the forest.

The whooshing sound threw the group into a slight unbalance, as they stumbled to regain their balance.

Only Kendra was left unaffected by the force and speed of the Anaconda.

After the Anaconda had left, Kendra then closed her eyes and created a bird mist.

The mist was initially visible to the group but as it ascended into the clouds and floated off, it became invisible.

Kendra was the only one who could feel its presence as it took off, she sent the mist ahead to survey the water nation.

Initially, when she left the water nation to rescue Lancelot, it was under attack by the air nation, but she left that part out as she didn't want to discourage the group.

She also felt she should be back in time to save her nation and that her soldiers could stand their ground against the air nation.

After 2 millennia of her absence she expected strength from her people to have rapidly progressed.

Yet she had to make sure they were not walking into an ambush according to the words of the beast.

From the view of the mist, Kendra could see the gate wide open, the water nation's entrance gate had no water nation soldiers protecting it, and a lot of dead water nation members and soldiers alike, lay on the ground dead.

She screamed in agony and anger, water burst forth from her and tore through a huge perennial tree, reducing it to logs that fell out in four places.

This scared Dice and Cherry who stood back in shock and watched the enraged Kendra.

Her eyes glowed blue and her facial features were fierce. "l will kill every last one of these Air nation soldiers, their children will I drown till there is nothing left to take over their despicable legacy".

Dice swallowed the spit he was holding in fear and kept mute unable to voice his objections.

Kendra calmed down after her statement and looked at the others,

"Let's go",

She created a layer of water to lift Lancelot and carry him alongside her, she then marched to the water nation entrance, while Dice and Cherry followed in tow.

Cherry and Dice had formed an indescribable bond since their near-death experience.

Dice had always silently held on to Cherry and supported her and she hadn't raised any objections to his actions.

At times he would just hold her shoulders or pull her by the waist, but she was rather comfortable with him around.

She didn't harbor any malice anymore in fact she was starting to feel something for him but she just could not describe what exactly it was.

Cherry was a truly beautiful woman, her features were enhanced, at 1 7 years old, two years younger than her brother, Lancelot, she stood at 59, truly stunning and a sight to behold.

Dice never forgot his sight of her naked body and it has haunted him beyond anything else, he had tried to gain her favor all through their trip from blood nation, only now did he feel very excited.

He would always hold onto her and he believed when the time came, they would speak of their feelings, but for the time being, he just wanted to be close to her.

While all these strange thoughts were going through his head, Kendra was reeling with anger which she tried as much as possible to subdue.

They finally got to the entrance of the water nation and walked through, Kendra was moved to tears, seeing her people slaughtered like chickens, killed, and left on the floor without so much as a comeback.

She walked around checking them one by one and examining their bodies.

There were signs of suffocation, some were killed with wind slashes, some had their lungs burst open.

'These air nation soldiers were truly powerful, how are they able to have such a scary level of elemental control?' Kendra thought to herself as she looked around.

Both Dice and Cherry stood in the distance while Lancelot floated alongside Kendra.

Kendra continued to walk deeper into the water nation city, houses were destroyed, blown off.

Some signs of an explosion, some were torn off from the roof and the windows and doors were blown off.

Kendra lifted her hands and used water to lift the dead soldiers, one by one, clearing the dead bodies and transferring them to the sea that stood at the north of the Water nation city.

The bodies became one with the sea as soon as they touched it, then the soul of the body would rise, and smile at Kendra before departing in a mist.

Kendra continued in this activity, to allow the souls of the dead water people to depart. So far she hadn't encountered a single water nation member soul alive, this was a massacre.
