Knowledge Thief: Library of Genesis

Alan was born into one of the most powerful families in the world. However, that didn't matter because, at the young age of 8, he was disowned by his family due to a prophecy told by an oracle. Filled with anger and resentment, Alan is abandoned in a town on the other side of the world. Now feeling helpless, Alan has to live his life with nobody beside him. While he is trying to find a place to sleep, he encounters a group of thugs who take notice of his expensive clothes, and they decide to kidnap him and hold him for ransom. Suddenly an eruption occurs, and a cloud of green gas appears. What comes out of the gas is a being that horrifies the young child. "Hey, let's make a deal," it says.

Xirst's Eyes

The dilemma Alan was currently facing was troubling. He didn't know if he should make one big purchase or spread his spending to multiple items. His tokens were like insurance to him.

Since he had a lot of them, he could search the library for help if he got into a difficult situation. However, he didn't know if he would get the liberty to sleep another day now that he was in the middle of nowhere.

He had gotten information from Ivan that, currently, he was on a remote island in the middle of the ocean. He was also told that there were no teleportation circles that allowed the residents to leave the island. The only way to leave the island was through an artifact that Ivan's granddaughter currently had in her possession. Alan would have to wait for her to return to leave the island.

Even though he was safe at the moment, if he continued staying on the island, he would only have limited resources to grow. Alan could tell that the island was dangerous, but when he met Ivan, he understood why people inhabited it peacefully. It was because the pressure that was coming from Ivan reminded Alan of his father.

The first thing he did once he left the simulation room was look at spatial magic. More specifically, creating teleportation circles. However, what he saw was not to his liking.

[Teleportation Circle: (Volume 1)]

[The ability allows one to create a teleportation circle that leads to a set coordinate. This book is the first volume of three and confines the user to the planet they are on when using this ability. The next volumes explain creating teleportation circles that lead to different planets and realms.]

Alan knew that spatial magic was scarce, so he was expecting this. However, what he didn't expect was having to learn 20 books before even getting the chance to learn how to make a teleportation circle.

He put the book back and immediately left that area of the library. Alan refused to spend 300,000 tokens just to leave the island he was on. He decided to wait until Ivan's granddaughter returned to ask her to take him back with her.

Alan looked through thousands of books for the next two weeks in his dream. As he looked through them, he was tempted to buy a few that caught his eye. However, he decided to stop himself from making any rash decisions. He would only choose once he was near waking up.

However, that thought lasted only briefly since he came across something that fascinated him very much. Alan decided that since all he could do right now was manipulate mana, he should look at abilities that would enhance his only power.

While he was looking through all the suggestions the system brought him, he found a very old book that was not very noticeable within the pile of books. Alan's face was filled with curiosity when he picked it up and read its description.

"What is this?" Alan said out loud. "I've never seen anything like this in my life."

"You finally need my help, huh," Izmos said as he flew towards Alan.

During Alan's time in the library, he didn't speak a single word to Izmos because he was so consumed with what he was doing. Izmos observed the boy from afar as he looked through over 10,000 books. Sometimes, Alan would even wander around the library cluelessly.

"Listen here, boy. This entire time you have only looked at skills and abilities you've seen on your planet. This world is vast, and your planet is only a small part of the universe."

Alan agreed with Izmos' words. Since he started exploring the library, he only looked at abilities he had seen on television, which belonged to the strongest individuals on Earth.

This was the first time during his visit that he encountered something so unique, and he realized that he was using his system the wrong way. Instead of looking for specific things, he should make his search broader. He only came across 'Xirst's Eyes' because he asked his system to bring him anything that could help his mana control.

"I told you before," Izmos said. "You can ask the system for ANYTHING. As long as it doesn't relate to the powers of a god, I can provide you with things beyond your wildest imagination."

Alan gulped as he thought of all the possibilities. He wondered if there was a possibility that he could turn into a dragon.

He searched the library with his system, and behold, thousands of abilities related to dragons were in front of him. Alan picked them up one by one and started reading their descriptions.

"This is insane," he said. "None of these exist on Earth."

"Of course they don't," Izmos replied. "The abilities you see on your planet are all provided to you by different gods. As I said before, this is all a game to them. Some planets are favored more than others, so better items and abilities are available on those planets."

"How do you have all of these different types of abilities?" Alan asked.

"Well, you see... I am one of the original gods that have existed since the beginning of time. Since I'm the god of knowledge, I've basically had a hand in the affairs of every god at some point in my life. However, because of this, I gained another name in the heavens."

"What's the name."

"The god of thieves," Izmos said with a creepy grin. "You see, I stole a lot from every god, which might have been another reason why they trapped me. But what can I do? Once something piques my interest, I have to satisfy my curiosity no matter what."

Alan, now, looked at gods differently than before. After hearing Izmos' confession, he thought that gods were selfish and should not be messed with in any capacity.

"Anyways... about that book. You can learn it as either a skill that requires mana or I can make a replica of the eye and implant it into your body."

At this point, Alan had already thought long and hard about what he should do with his tokens. Since he explored the library quite a bit, Alan realized a lot of the things he found interesting had a bunch of prerequisites that he would have to learn beforehand. Right now, he didn't have anything he wanted specifically, so he felt no need to rush and choose any skills.

This changed once he found Xirst's Eyes. It was a skill that was compatible with everything that required mana. Even though it cost majority of Alan's token balance, he didn't find any fault in purchasing the skill book.

Alan made up his mind and decided that he would buy Xirst's Eyes. Since it was an S-Class skill, it would require a large amount of mana to activate which meant he also had to buy the additional add-on. Naturally, he selected mana as the energy he wanted to see with the eyes.

"I think I'm going to buy this," he said as he looked at Izmos.

"Good choice. Building your foundation will help you perform stronger abilities in the future," Izmos replied. "Now, once you click purchase, the system will automatically transplant the eyes into your sockets. Since we are in your dreams, you don't need to go through any surgery or anything of the sort. It will be a painless process."

Alan felt relieved hearing those words. He was spending an additional 110,000 tokens, so he hoped the least he could get was a pain-free procedure. Alan selected the add-on option and proceeded to purchase Xirst's Eyes.

Suddenly, his sight went completely white as if he had been hit with a flashbang. It stayed white for a few minutes until it eventually faded away, returning Alan's regular eyesight. However, this time, his eyesight could see something that it couldn't before. He could see millions upon millions of particles floating in the air around him.
