Chapter 27

  Ian knitted his eyebrows questioningly. Carter was looking at him intently but seemed to be thinking of something else.

"Do you know him from somewhere, Captain? As for me, I have never seen him in my life."

"No, Ian, I don't know anyone with that name."

Carter dropped his maps off and approached him.

"Lead me to him."

They got out of the cabin, went up to the deck, and went down to the pier using the wooden board that connected the boat with the land.

Ian approached a middle-aged man standing under the shadow his slave provided to him by holding a small wooden structure tied on a white cloth with both hands. The slave's job was to keep this white cloth over his master's head.
