“Rio!” I heard him called.

“Hmm?” I answered.

He is smiling widely. “It’s the princess’ birthday today!” he said excitedly.

“’birthday’?” I asked.

He nodded and pulled me to the cliff again. “Look!” he said and pointed at the fireworks. “The whole kingdom is celebrating.” He said.

“She must be loved…” I muttered.

He smiled. “Yes. Because I love her, too!” he said and grinned.

I stared at him. Love… I thought. That’s it. That’s what I feel toward him. I thought and looked at him. “I love you – “ I said just as a firework exploded.

“Huh? What did you say?” he asked and turned to me.

I shook my head and forced a smile. “Nothing.” I answered.
