5 Chapter 5-Sympathize

"What's your name kid?" the hero asked in irritated tone

"Killua sir" he said blinking innocently

"Watch where you are going, you shouldn't be moving so recklessly" he scolded

"What's your name?" Killua asked genually interested

"Aizawa or the Eraser hero, either one kid" AIzawa said gruffly in a moody tone as he tied the villains arms behind his back, not like the villain would be moving anytime soon though...

Killua looked at the man with bags under his eyes "Sure thing EraserCat"

The man turned giving a cold glare, but it didn't even faze him. Killua shrugged "Why are you looking at me like that, I think it is a pretty good nickname" Killua said with a grin

He continued to frown not reacting to his words

"I thought all you hero's were motivated to 'Save People with a Smile'" he continued poking fun at him and the man finally sighed "Stupid Fucking students and now I have to deal with another annoying brat" he muttered under his breath checking the man on the ground for any activity before he closed his eyes like he was trying to fall asleep standing up

'It seems as if he can erase quirks' Killua went into thought intrigued wondering how the mans quirk worked. He used gyo to enhance his vision, but there was no sign since he was not actively using it. He was quite curious if it would work on Nen since quirks are a result of a mutated form of Hatsu through selectively open aura nodes.

"Quite suspicious how accurately it hit him with a skateboard when you were supposed to be out of control" he observed looking suspiciously as the white haired teen who was picking back up his solid mahogany board brushing it off

"I guess it was a lucky coincidence" Killua said with a laugh gesturing to the man on the floor

*Sigh "Whatever. I didn't see any illegal quirk use , so you'll get off this time" he muttered with as much threat as a guy falling asleep could as a police car soon arrived to take the guy to the station

"Stay out of trouble brat" were his last words as the man walked away likely to finish the rest of his evening patrol

"Quite an interesting guy" Killua thought watching the man . May not be the strongest individually, but his quirk can render some of the strongest villains immobile if he truly can take away any quirk.

He was also very fit athletically well above the normal standard of his world, and he had previously guessed quirks may have something to do with strengthening the body depending on how much to train it. While the average human here seemed to be physically stronger than humans back home due to quirks, most would be completely outclassed by a nen user.

He walked around the corner and he noticed a man in a business suit walking in his direction.

Much to his surprise, right when he was a couple feet away, the guy pulled out a familiar knife jumping out to cut his cheek.

The sharp knife instead of cutting him, slid off the ten barrier leaving Killua completely unfazed as he tripped him in one fluid motion sending the guy staggering past him.

After the element of surprise had been lost, Toga transformed back and simply sat there with a depressed expression "I was sure I cut you...." she muttered looking like she was about to cry

He was actually really impressed.

Admittedly he wasn't using Gyo or paying close attention, but she had gotten a lot better at Zetsu despite not training in Nen which was a pretty hard thing to achieve.

She then jumped up rushing at him with a wild look on her face "Why! Why! Why?" She yelled slashing all over and her attacks were quite powerful, but her battle experience was too little compared to him.

He simply dodged the rest using her momentum to twist her arm forcing her to drop the knife which he simply kicked to the side

He then pushed her away and she sat there breathing heavily with a small glare as she looked at him with an irritated expression

"I was sure I hit you" she once again said staring at him accusingly

"Yeah, but my skin is too tough" Killua explained choosing to use that since it was easier to talk about then Nen.

"I thought your quirk had something to do with electricity?" she protested since Killua had showed her his hatsu earlier since she would learn eventually anyway

He had attributed his strength to using electricity to stimulate his speed and power, but she didn't think his body should be so strong.

He shrugged "training makes my body a lot tougher"

"Still, you have gotten a lot stronger" he commented looking down at her

"Well..." she suddenly looked embarrassed "you just gave me a few tips that helped out a bit" she said standing up as Killua walked to the apartment a block or two away

The past few months, as many times as she had tried to attack him outside, she was surprisingly normal inside since he hadn't let her do anything and she was still scared to get kicked out.

The exam was quickly approaching, and he continued to train. He had sparred with Toga a bit and she had improved quite a lot. She was now much more skilled when he had first met her. She still wouldn't give up on her annoying fantasy to cut him but he couldn't be bothered to care. It like a fun game tag where the person who was it had to stab the other. At least, fun by his standards...

Besides morning and nights, they both kinda did their own thing during the day.

Sometimes, she would stick in the house reading or watching movies. Other times, she would go out doing other stuff which he had joined her on a couple times.

She had opened up a lot more to him, but she still refused to talk about her childhood, and Killua similarity wasn't about to reveal anything about himself eithe. He still grudgingly had to admit that it was a nice change of pace from when he lived alone when he first arrived at this world.

If you ignore her weird fetish for blood, she was surprisingly easy to talk to most of the time.

"Any matches?" Killua spoke Leisurely as he held the receiver to his ear

"Still none, I think you scared them away" Giran said playfully, but his words had some truth to them. His fights were very occasional since he was known as one of the top fighters in the underground world.

*Sigh "Alright" Killua hung up bored. Besides training, making money through fights, and searching for clues back home he had little else to do with his time. The initial panic at doing everything in his power to get back home had long faded leaving a dull feeling of powerlessness.

At this point, what else could he do besides keep a heads up for any information?

Another two months quickly passed as the morning of the awaited hero exams came.

Killua stepped into the kitchen shirtless with his hair still wet from a shower. Instead of waking up early to train, he woke up a bit later. Stepping out, he pulled out a variety of ingredients choosing to make pancakes.

Grabbing two separate bowls, he seperately mixed the wet and dry ingredients in preparation to make the batter as Toga watched on in fascination "You really need to teach me to cook good breakfast someday" she exclaimed since he always made breakfast everyday including a wide variety of dishes.

He glanced at her briefly before returning to the preparations "Maybe sometime later, got to take the exams later"

She looked at him weirdly "You rant about how dumb some of their ideals are everyday. Remind me again why you would want to become a stupid hero again?"

He shrugged "I already told you that the connections and information that come with the job will be very helpful to me" he explained once again getting a strange look "Whatever you say..." she muttered as Killua began taking many large tablespoons of sugar and dumping them in the batter

"Umm, I'm no expert, bu, isn't that a little much for pancakes?" she questioned with a confused expression causing him to turn towards her in annoyance "Can you ever have too much sugar?"

"... Yeah?"

"Wrong" Killua said shaking his head "You know, sweets are much better than blood" he continued sparking an immediate protest from the girl

"Sweets are good an all but..." she got a bit of a dreamy look on her face "Things are much cuter when they bleed" Toga said with a content expression

"That's a pretty unpopular opinion" he observed, While he may not really care since he had seen much much worse than a simple interest in blood, most of society would be disgusted about her probably sending her to a mental hospital at the first chance. In a society that forces uniformity, people with strange quirks such as Toga that caused them to differ from the expectations would only get them shunned and thrown aside. Many villains were because their own inability to make a society accepting of these unique people

Toga seemed to go into deep thought at Killua's statement. Finally in a hesitant voice she began talking speaking "I used to hide my interest when I was young after I realized how everyone else would react towards it" she said looking towards the floor "I bottled it all up acting as the perfect daughter for the scum I called my parents at the time" she spoke with a bit of venom for the second time in the past half year mentioning anything to due with her parents at all which said something

"Finally, all those pent up feelings went out of control when I saw one of my classmates bleeding after he got into a fight" Toga said softly as Killua continued nonchalantly making pancakes with a deadpan expression that hid his emotions

"Labeled as a monster and a freak, I fled from the authorities chasing me hoping to find a better life. Friendless without anyone I turned to the underground fights as simply a way to survive...

All those people who looked at me with disgust in their eyes... Did they ever consider that I just wanted a normal life too" she whispered small tears trailing the corners of her warm golden eyes with a sad expression

She seemed to remember something that brightened her mood as a smile danced across her face

"That's why I was so glad when I met you. Your the only one who looks at me like I'm an actual human being even giving me a place to live." She said before her expression changed once again as she looked at the ground gloomily "Do I even deserve it..."

The stove was on, but he had long forgot about it as he stood completely still. Standing their rigidly his hands were clenched, but his face was still lacking any emotion as he was used to. The face of a assassin, that's what it was... No matter how much he liked to delude himself, he had killed thousands. Families torn apart, young or old, male or female, it hadn't mattered to him...

All he wanted was a normal life. He didn't want to be an assassin... The Zoldycks were a name of fear spoken with hate and disgust. Who would want to be the friend with a murderer like him? Many came for revenge and he didn't even blame them for it, but 'not blaming them" didn't change their fate in the end. He was scum. Sociopatic, ruthless, and all around horrible person yet even so....

'Even after all that, there was still people who care' he reminisced as the memories flooded in

"Gon, Leorio, Kurapika... Alluka" he said finally a small tear unconsciously manifesting at the corner of his eye as he remembered his friends he had separated from and would likely never see again...

He returned back to reality as he looked at her hurt soul 'She's just like me' was the first thing that came to mind looking at her, a result of society's failure. Inside a world full of worship for hero's she was influenced by her quirk to have an unusual attraction to blood. Instead of helping her, she was looked upon with disgust and fear. The young girl only in middle school, was completely abandoned by her friends, classmates, and her family. "All this yet..."

He walked over to the girl who made no movement. Her long blond hair had yet to be put up... 'I think I like it better that way' he thought unconsciously as she looked away afraid to meet his eyes

"You know something...." he paused "I'm glad I met you... Himiko" he said softly causing the girl's head to snap up in surprise

He met her eyes complex emotions passing between. She usually acted a bit crazy, but she looked so... vulnerable right now with her hand trembling at her side at the pain the past had wrought

In the spur of the moment Killua stepped forward wrapping his arms protectively around the blond girl as her eyes widened. Instantly she hugged back fiercely holding each other tightly enjoying the feeling of warmth and comfort. At that moment, it was like they could fully understand each other as unspoken words passed between. Having just taken a shower, she gave off a pleasant scent of lavender and he found himself inhaling it in.

The moment ended as the pair separated as the room grew a bit awkward. Pausing for a moment, he saw her cheeks grow a bit red as the tension in the room seemed to grow "Uhh, oh sh*t, I gotta go take the exam see you!" he exclaimed rushing out the door leaving the blond behind

"Himiko huh?"

unknowingly a broad smile came to her face

"I think I like it..."
