The competition 2

Kiekie's POV.

There were three judges at the competition. There was a female almost them, which made me do a happy African dance in my head.

The first judge introduce the program.

First Judge: Today we are all gather here for the district periodic competition. I hope you all will listen carefully and learn form this competition.

Second Judge: Joe!(That was the name of the First Judge) it is so sad to see only one female participant. It must be scary for her.

I knew he was trying to make me feel inferiors to the boys.

Third judge: You can't say that Mark. She is a brave person. I am the only female here as judge remember?

You know that the Ambassador of the United States of America to Liberia have arranged this competition to encourage more females to study chemistry.

"McQueen McCarthy, is a brilliant woman we must appreciate her for encouraging girls in Liberia.

Welcome miss it is an honor to have you here number 3." (I was wearing number three)

"It is my hope become a winner. I want you to show these guys here that we girls are powerful. I know you will make it to the national competition."(She said smiling at me)

I thank her.. the boys were rolling their eyes because of what she said to me. I saw them from the corner of my cat eyes.

The competition begin! After the first round four boys dropped. There were six participants for the second round.

After the second round two dropped. I was about to get excited but I told myself not so soon, I thought positively while waiting for the finals.. Cleopatra told me that "our thoughts are our greatest access."

During the third round we were four participants.

After 25 minutes of answering questions; like identifying symbols, mass number, atomic number and spelling out the elements the third round was over.

Second Judge: I am amazed to see that number three is still in the competition. Let's all hope she comes out as winner.

I felt like Mark hated me. Why was he behaving like I have wrong him before.

Third Judge: Mark, I told you that she's brave and smart. She is a female. We are powerful! Unlike.....

She left it in the air!!! I knew she was trying to give a warning to Mark.

First Judge: Guys, enough! We are heard for a competition and not to argue. The results will be out in 5 minutes!

Keke: Cleo during those five minutes my heart literally felt out of my mouth. My heart accelerated it normal beat. I thought I was to have a heart attack!

Narrator: I knew you were so nervous that day. But after the second round, I could see the Alpha spirit taking over. I knew you were very nervous, because your big wide cat eyes like clock were popping out of the glasses. I was also scared.

Keke: Shhhh. Do rush the story!

Narrator: Okie, your Royal Highness!

My heart accelerated it normal beat. I thought I was to have a heart attack. That day the clock seems to stop working in those five minutes. It felt like five centuries to me.

Second Judge: (Mark) Thanks ladies and gentlemen for patiently waiting. We were opportune to have three winner.

They are.......

He paused for five seconds!!!

I literally saw my heart falling out of my mouth! I remembered seeing Cleo closing her eyes and taking in a deep breath....
