First Seal

Over a month has passed since they summoned their demon helper Agthomen. Since then they had summoned two more helpers reaching their current limit. The first one was a purple scaled naga lady named Liliana. The other one was a water elemental named Sylphie. Since they were summoned William, Isaac and Val were teaching them how to manage the library. How to trade resources with library patrons and give them the energy coins. How to create library cards for new patrons along with anything else they needed to do. In that time Isaac and Val have also spent a lot of time training and gathering energy. Finally they got to the point where they could open the first seal located on their left wrist. William helped them sometimes by explaining different ways to gather energy or concentrating the energy around them for a short amount of time. Any longer than 10 minutes and their energy veins might burst causing immense pain and possibly crippling them. They sat in the main library with William watching over them to make sure they didn't damage themselves while opening the seal. He was their guardian while they were in the library and he would make sure that no matter what they would live.

Isaac and Val closed their eyes and began gathering energy. There they saw the seal blocking their energy from moving further. The seal was a circular door that seemed to be made of stone and was separated into 3 rings. The first part of the seal they had to open was the center circle of the seal. the other 2 parts would come at later stages. Without them realizing it all 3 summons gathered around the two of them to watch their breakthrough. 

Isaac and Val first tried to gather a burst of energy to force the seal open. After around 10 minutes of trying they realized that there must be another way. Inspecting the seal in more detail they found various pathways engraved into the seal. There were quite a few false pathways that were engraved into the seal but if they went down the wrong way it would only waste their time. It was very unlikely that they would cause damage to themselves since if their energy started to go out of control William would stop them and force it back under control. As they sat there they carefully prodded the different pathways trying to find the correct ones to open up the seal. The seal reminded Isaac of a game he used to play as a kid where you were a killer whale and when you encountered a doorway you opened it by making a path to the center so water could flow. This was similar where each correct path led to an orb in the center which William explained helped store and amplify the energy that flowed through their energy veins. The more seals that were opened the stronger the amplification would be.

As time passed they got lost in their focus slowly finding the correct paths to the orb in the center of the seal. Without them realizing over 3 days had passed. The 3 summoned helpers were worried for the two of them but William assured them that they will be fine. It is just taking a while because they come from a world without any energy so they aren't used to controlling it. Their seals were almost opened as Isaac and Val released the final strand of energy towards the orb. There were 20 different pathways that were correct but over 100 wrong ones. As the energy reached the orb the center of the seal began to crack as the orb glowed gold. The broken seal pieces were absorbed into the orb causing it to grow larger. Isaac and Val felt a huge rush of origin energy flowing through their hand and into the orb as it greedily drank it all in before releasing a burst of energy outwards cleansing some of the impurities in their energy veins. It couldn't travel far up their arm but it helped them get a head start towards the next seals. When it ended Isaac and Val opened their eyes and looked at their wrist where they saw a faint diamond mark where the open seal was. Before they could do anything else the exhaustion of the past 3 days hit them all at once causing them to fall backwards unconscious.

William stopped them from hitting their heads on the ground before he asked Agthomen for help taking them to their room so they could rest. After getting them settled the library pulled William towards another room that had sat untouched for an extremely long time. Entering William received a message from the library. With a sigh he began preparing for what was to come. He knew things were going to get more troublesome for Isaac and Val.

Sorry for the shorter chapter today. Work has been running me ragged and I haven't had much time to write. For now though I hope you are enjoying the story. Things for Isaac and Val are about to get a bit more interesting.
