KSKT - Knights

Inside the town is locates the headquarter of knight forces.

There is someone in the hallway, running. The sound of metal clicking on each other and the sound of heavy footsteps is echoing.

The sound of running in the hallway stopped in front of a particular door that has an insignia of a dragon.

The man knocked on the door.

AKEL: Sir! Akel from squad three, reporting!

MAN: Come in.

Akel heard a faint deep sound behind the door. Akel then grabbed the door handle and went inside.

The room was a large office filled with books and papers, and there's a big glass table in the center. Behind the glass table was a man with gray hair and blue eyes, and he was wearing white buttoned long sleeves and a coat on top of it. The man's name is Ace, the secretary to the captain.

ACE: Speak.

The man behind the table said. Akel then proceeds to speak.

AKEL: There's information about blood goblins in the East forest.

ACE: Is the information confirmed?

AKEL: No, sir!

There was a moment of pause. Ace grabbed a cup of coffee from the table and took a sip.

ACE: So why are you here?

AKEL: The squad three wishes for...

ACE: Stop!

Ace stopped Akel from talking.

ACE: Lower your voice, please, it's not like we're too far, right?

Akel put his right hand to his chest and bowed.

AKEL: My sincerest apologies sir.

ACE: Okay, continue.

AKEL: The squad three wishes for the captain's permission to conduct a survey in the east forest to verify this information.

From the start of the conversation, Ace has been either writing or drinking coffee. Ace stopped what he was doing and looked at Akel.

ACE: Akel right?

AKEL: Yes, sir!

Ace then summons a quill and writes something on the paper. After a few seconds, Ace looked at Aken and said.

ACE: Permission confirmed. Squad three conducts the survey to the East Forest to confirm the presence of blood goblins, and the captain commands the squad three to exterminate the blood goblins once their presence is verified.

AKEL: Thank you, sir!

Akel once again put his right hand to his chest and bowed before leaving.

There are six people walking on the road to the east. The six people are wearing thick armor that covers their entire bodies. These six people are squad three.

Unlike before, squad three changed their typical guard armor, which is bulky and has insignia that represent the country of Ikara. The armor that they're wearing is full-body armor that is fit to their body structure and to their fighting style. Some of them are using different weapons: wands, spears, hammers, shields, and swords.

AKEL: One, did you detect any presence of blood goblins?

Akel asked ONE. Akel is called number Six on this expedition. His height is average and his structure is average. He is a shield bearer.

Since squad three is using numbers as their names because they are outside the territory of the town, being outside of the town means that danger is everywhere, especially since countries in the Chaos Land are hostile towards each other. Leaking information about one's country to another country is also the same as a man giving a sniper bullet to his enemy.

ONE: None so far, Six.

One is a magician. She is using a staff as a weapon. Her figure is slender and she is quite tall.

Because squad three is doing an expedition and the need to hide their identities, there's no superior and subordinate relationship. In other words, they're equal and their rankings in town don't matter during the expedition. Even though they're equal, there is still someone that instructs them and that is Akel, number Six.

SIX: Hmm... It has been 12 hours since the information was given, this is quite weird that there's still no presence of blood goblins.

FOUR: Isn't it because we're not in the east forest yet?

Four is a hammer wielder. He has a huge structure and he is tall at the same time. He is quite an eye-catcher if you haven't seen him once.

SIX: No. Blood goblins have these tendencies to chase their prey until they're caught. The boy was already a target, so one or more must at least have left the forest. That's why it's weird.

Squad three then proceeds to walk in silence until they reach the entrance to the East Forest, but...

THREE: Where's the entrance? There are only trees on this path.

Three is a spearman. He has a big and slender body, and his limbs are quite long.

Everyone looked back and saw the path they had gone. The path does not have grass on it. They are sure they have followed the right direction.

FOUR: We took the right path, what's with these trees popping out of nowhere?!

TWO: Excuse me, make way.

Two is a sword wielder. His height is taller than Six and he has a big structure.

Two took out his long sword from its sheath and slashed the tree. To their surprise, the trees didn't fall like a normal tree. Instead, the tree vanished and the path to the entrance can now be seen. There were a couple of grass roots on the ground that helped the tree illusion.

THREE: (Huh, it looks like the old man did a great job.)

Three thoughts to himself. He concludes that this is what the old man's doing because he has seen the old man a couple of times in the adventurer's guild. Out of all the people in the guild, only the old man doesn't have mana but can perform magic.

FIVE: Whoah! The person who did that is really skillful. I mean, there's no presence of mana on that tree, so it's hard to differentiate it from the others.

Five blurted his thoughts out loud. Five is like One, a woman, and a magician, but she is specialized in healing.

SIX: Shhh. Something is wrong.

The forest that is full of various animals and monsters is dead silent. Six were still at the entrance observing the forest carefully. From a distance, a somewhat a deer can be seen. It is lying on the ground, but its body is torn and blood is scattered everywhere.

Six quickly judged that entering the forest would be dangerous.

SIX: One, did you detect any blood goblins in the surroundings.

One then casts a wide search in the surroundings.

ONE: There seems to be quite a lot of them, Six.

SIX: Ok, the presence of blood goblins is confirmed. Let's lure them outside the forest...

Everyone felt a presence of mana coming toward them.

!!!

"An arrow?!" Everyone exclaimed in their mind.

Six quickly raised his shield and blocked the arrow.

SIX: We've been detected! Everyone, quick, fall back!

Everyone hurriedly falls back while Six is fending off all of the arrows that are coming their way.

After falling back quite a few distances, the blood goblins started to emerge from the forest.

SIX: This distance should be enough.

Everyone stopped and positioned themselves for the upcoming fight. Six and Four are in front. One and Five are in the far back. And Three and Two are behind Six.

SIX: Dome!

Six casts a dome-shaped mana shield that covers everyone.

Everyone was ready for the blood goblins to attack, but something unexpected happened. Coming from the forest there's a loud screaming sound and what emerges from the forest is a King-type of blood goblin.

Kraaaaaah!

THREE: Oh, shoot. Looks like we're in big trouble.
