Race Against Time

Alyssia was greeted with the sight of many people being restrained and Ashwin who had looked like he had not slept for a long time.

He looked very stressed and tired as he walked towards Alyssia. "You are here. That is good! I had a hard time dealing with this. It is completely out of my area of expertise."

Alyssia patted his shoulder and said. "You have done enough. Leave the rest to me."

She was to an area where a mutant was restrained that had a very large forehead with many blackish veins popping out.

It was only them both within the room and they both studied each other, Alyssia sarcastically spoke. "You must think I cannot solve this problem you have created yes?"

He glared towards Alyssia in response and showed an triumphant look afterwards. "An inferior creature like you cannot possibly understand my greatness. Now hurry up and let me free. If you want your allies to not die then pledge your loyalty to me."

Alyssia shook her head and said coldly. "I will show you a little trick."

He looked towards her in confusion. "What trick do you plan on using? Nothing will work on me, I will never give up my secrets."

He was very confident about being strong willed and intelligent enough to endure hardships to plot his escape or to buy enough time to persuade others to let him free. 'It will not be long before my suppressants run out then they will come crawling back to me like everyone else does.'

The next moment he was more confused as he watched Alyssia do nothing but stand in place with her eyes closed for around ten seconds.

Once Alyssia had opened her eyes, she showed a triumphant look. "Indeed.. you sure are a genius. Where you come from you can definitely be considered as one but this planet has many more who can match your abilities or beat them. The only issue for them would be understanding what you know.

It is difficult due to you being from another planet and the rules and resources being different there. It would take time to understand that and to try to form solutions using two separate sets of knowledge from this world and your own. That would mean you have the advantage right now but.."

She paused for a moment for dramatic effect. "Not everything can be so easily understood by normal means and I already have what I need. Farewell."

"Hey! Get back here!"

"How dare you!"

"You will be back!"

Alyssia closed the door behind her and then went to collect samples from the bodies, the remaining ingredients, serums and suppressants then took them back down to her laboratory where she had began by sitting down and absorbing the Mutation, Powers and Enhancement Science skill and those related to it had been purchased or updated to provide her other skills to be updated with new information.

She started going through the basics of the many ingredients found in the universe and more specifically on the planet that was the source of its creation then worked her way up towards gradually understanding more about the serums that would cause people to gain powers at the cost of loss of control and big mutations or abnormalities to their bodies.

It helped that Alyssia had some experience working with serums and had been studying other kinds of areas related to chemicals, diseases, parasites and viruses of all types.

Her most recent purchase was from Wano where she gained more than enough from Queen to create her own deadly viruses if she had enough time to herself to put some of her ideas into practice.

She did not take all of the serums and suppressants so there would be enough time for everyone to survive while she was busy with her research.

The main issue was that the Ark Maxim needed to settle down somewhere and to resupply their used resources so they could feed their many mouths.

Alyssia told them to take shelter in Zou at the very edge to prevent any problems and that once she had everything prepared, she would come back to Zou to fix things. "This. This. This. And this one. Hmm.. this herb has great properties and is rare so it will be very useful for researching. Sadly there are less in supply and they only seem to come from that planet.I cannot go around using them like crazy if that is the case. Hmm.. this herb has similarities to this one so it can be substituted.

This one would be better than that one. This herb is more common and far cheaper but has the same properties as that one. Hmm.. what if I try to recreate the conditions to grow this and use the Lineage Factor to grow this one. Hopefully I can get this done as quickly as possible.. Carrot was not exactly looking too good when I visited. She must have suffered a lot."

There were some others that were suffering the same pains and were enduring the effects of the mutant serums but Carrot was her close friend that Alyssia had been close to and trusted a lot since she was much younger.

Alyssia did not wish to lose her good friend to such a thing so she worked extra hard and made full use of her system to combine skills, learn that knowledge and to come up with new blueprints or ideas to get closer to the solution to the problem.

It was a race against time to prevent her friend and others from turning into mindless and savage mutations but Alyssia did not give up and kept experimenting as her ship sailed around the New World.
