The battleground was a desolate wasteland, with nothing but rocks and debris littering the ground. The sky was a sickly shade of green as if infected by some sort of cosmic disease. The air was thick with an otherworldly stench, the kind that could only come from a being not of this world.
In the center of the wasteland stood a young man, wielding a trident that seemed to be made of some sort of demonic material. This was Kamen Rider; Zephyr Blaze, also known as Nexus Cipher. He had come to this place for one reason and one reason only: to defeat the demonic beast that stood before him.
The beast was a horrific sight to behold, its tentacled appendages writhing and twisting in unnatural ways. Its body was covered in slimy scales that seemed to shift and move of their own accord. Its eyes were black pits that seemed to gaze into the depths of one's soul, and its mouth was filled with razor-sharp teeth that dripped with acidic saliva.
Nexus and the demonic beast had a long and bitter history with each other, one that went back many years. The beast had killed someone very dear to Nexus, and ever since then, he had sworn to hunt it down and exact his revenge.
The two clashed in a flurry of blows, Nexus swinging his trident with deadly precision while the beast countered with its writhing tentacles. The sound of their battle echoed across the wasteland as if the very ground itself was trembling with their fury.
Nexus was determined to win this fight, to finally avenge the person he had lost. But the demonic beast was just as determined, its hatred for Nexus burning just as bright as his own.
As the battle raged on, the beast cursed Nexus in an unknown language, its voice echoing through the wasteland like the howl of a dying star. But Nexus refused to be deterred. He knew that victory was within his grasp, and he would not let this opportunity slip away.
With a final, thunderous blow, Nexus struck the beast with his trident, impaling it through the heart. The beast let out a final, guttural roar before disintegrating into ash, carried away by the sickly green winds.
Nexus stood there for a moment, catching his breath and gazing out across the desolate wasteland. He had finally done it. He had finally avenged the person he had lost so long ago. And as he looked down at his demonic trident, he couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction.
1 year later
A year passed and the world moved on, while humanity remains ignorant of the dangers, there are those who had suspected war hidden in the shadows. Nexus stood on the rooftop, gazing down at the busy streets below. His sickly pale skin seemed even paler in the dull light of the evening sky, and his black hair hung limply around his face. The symptoms of depression were evident in his physical state, with dark circles under his yellow eyes and a perpetual frown on his sharp-toothed mouth.
Suddenly, he sensed a presence behind him. He whirled around to face a Makai Knight in golden armor, known as Garo. The two locked eyes in a tense stare-off, each sizing the other up. Finally, Garo broke the silence with a friendly greeting.
"Hey there, Nexus. Long time no see."
Nexus responded in a vulgar and crass pattern, "Ah, shit. It's you. What do you want?"
Garo shrugged and flashed a grin, unfazed by Nexus' foul language. "Just checking in on my favorite cousin. You know how it is."
Nexus snorted. "Yeah, like you care about me. You only show up when there's a crisis to be averted."
Garo's expression softened slightly. "Hey, I care about you. You're family, after all. And I'm not here to stop any crises this time. I just wanted to see how you're doing."
Nexus sighed and ran a hand through his messy hair. "I'm fine, I guess. Just...existing. You know how it is."
Garo nodded understandingly. "Yeah, I get it. But listen, Nexus, I didn't come all this way just to make small talk. I have something important to discuss with you. You remember that Fiend you fought?" Garo began, "Well, it turns out that fight caused quite the power vacuum in the underworld. With one of the major players out of the picture, a lot of the smaller ones started to rise up and try to take their place."
Nexus listened intently, a furrowed brow indicating his concern. "And? What does that mean for us?" he asked, his voice laced with a hint of worry.
"It means that things are about to get a whole lot messier," Garo replied with a sigh. "We're going to have to be on our guard, especially with all the new players in town. But don't worry, we'll handle it. You don't have to fight anymore."
Nexus nodded, grateful for his cousin's reassurance. Despite his tough exterior, he knew that he needed Garo's help more than ever, especially with the dark thoughts that still plagued him from time to time.
Nexus looked down at his cousin and said, "Remember that duel we had a year ago?" Garo chuckled before replying, "Of course I do. Ended in a draw, didn't it? What brings it up now?" Nexus shifted his weight and then replied, "Just wanted to make sure you weren't holding any grudges."
Without another word, Nexus reached for his belt, and the transformation process began. The black suit with silver accents began to form around Nexus's body, and the suit started to pulse with energy. The helmet with its glowing eyes formed around his head, and the transformation was complete.
Garo couldn't help but laugh hysterically at the sight of Nexus's transformation. "Ha! That never gets old," he said between chuckles.
Nexus grumbled, "It's not funny. I hate having to do this embarrassing show every time."
Garo's laughter only grew louder at Nexus's annoyance, "You're the one who decided to become a Kamen Rider. You know the drill."
Nexus sighed and shook his head in frustration, "Yeah, I know. Let's just get to business."
Garo and Nexus clashed their weapons with a loud clang, sparks flying as they engaged in an intense duel. The two fighters were equally matched, each anticipating the other's moves and countering them with skill and strategy.
Nexus swung his trident with lightning-fast strikes, but Garo was able to dodge and parry with his sword. Garo retaliated with powerful blows, but Nexus was able to deflect them with ease, thanks to his Kamen Rider suit's enhanced agility and strength.
The duel lasted for several minutes, each fighter trading blows and pushing their limits. Finally, they both landed a powerful strike at the same time, causing a shockwave that sent them both flying back.
As they stood up, both panting and sweating from the intense fight. Garo dismissed his armor, revealing a young man around Nexus' age with black hair and grey eyes, and tan skin.
Garo let out a deep sigh and scratched his head. "You know, Nexus, I'm going to miss your annoying ass when you leave tomorrow," he said with a chuckle.
Nexus smirked and rolled his eyes. "Who says I'm leaving tomorrow? I haven't decided yet," he replied.
Garo raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Really? I thought you were itching to get out of this city," he said.
Nexus nodded. "Yeah, I am. But I don't have a destination in mind yet. I might just wander for a while," he said with a shrug.
Garo nodded in understanding. "I get it. You're a free spirit, always going where the wind takes you. But promise me you'll keep in touch, okay?" he said with a smile.
Nexus grinned back. "Yeah, sure. I'll send you a postcard from every new city I visit," he joked.
Garo chuckled and playfully punched Nexus in the arm. "You know, for a battle maniac, you're not half bad," he said. He knows damn well his cousin was lying but he needed to say what he needed for Nexus to hear, otherwise, he wasn't sure if he would end up dying with regret.
Nexus snorted. "Says the guy who can't go five minutes without complaining about something," he retorted.
Garo laughed and shook his head. "Touché, cousin. Touché. Well I need to head home, I need some good sleep, take care of yourself."
As Garo disappears from his sight, Nexus couldn't help but feel a sense of loneliness creeping in. He knew that he couldn't stay in one place forever, but the thought of leaving was daunting. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a card, looking at it for a moment before inserting it into the slot on his spear.
With a deep breath, he raised his weapon, and with a burst of energy, he tore open the fabric of reality. A portal appeared before him, glowing with an otherworldly light. Nexus took one last look at the city below before stepping into the rift. As he entered the portal, the colors around him twisted and distorted, and the sounds of the world were replaced by an eerie silence.
The portal closed behind him, leaving nothing but an empty rooftop. Nexus was now on his way to another world, leaving behind the memories of his past and the people he had grown to love.
As Nexus stepped out of the rift, he felt a strange sensation in his body. The air around him felt heavier and more polluted than what he was used to, but he shrugged it off and looked down at his trident, which had now transformed into a ring. "Mundus, why have you been so quiet?" Nexus asked, expecting a reasonable answer from his weapon.
Mundus responded in a crass and vulgar manner, filled with sarcasm, "Oh, I'm sorry, did you want me to make small talk while you were taking a stroll through the rift? Did you expect me to sing a song or something? I'm just a weapon, not your personal jukebox, genius!"
Nexus rolled his eyes at Mundus' response, "Just answer the question, please."
Mundus let out a sigh before responding, "We've entered a parallel world, dumbass. The rules might be different here."
Nexus grumbled in annoyance, knowing that Mundus would never give him a straight answer. He took a moment to survey his surroundings, noticing the neon lights and bustling streets of the city. It was similar to Tokyo, but there was something off about it.
"Alright, let's get going," Nexus muttered as he began to make his way through the crowded streets.
Nexus continued to walk through the unfamiliar world, with Mundus still silent on his finger. As he walked, he bumped into someone. "I'm sorry," Nexus apologized but stopped when he looked up and saw her eyes. They were unlike any he had ever seen before.
The young woman before him had fair skin, purple hair, and star-shaped pupils. They continued to stare into each other's eyes, each seeing something within the other. One who doesn't know love and one who has forgotten how to love.
Their intense gaze seemed to last for an eternity before the woman finally broke the silence. "Are you lost?" she asked, her voice soft and gentle.
Nexus blinked a few times, caught off guard by the woman's sudden question. "Uh, yeah, I am," he admitted, still a bit dazed.
The woman nodded, her eyes never leaving his. "Well, you look like you could use some help," she said with a small smile.
Nexus couldn't help but feel drawn to her, and he found himself nodding in agreement. "Yeah, that would be great, thanks," he said, unable to tear his gaze away from her.
And with that, the two of them continued down the unfamiliar road together, their destinies intertwined in ways they couldn't even begin to fathom. The young woman was helpful in giving him directions, though he did notice she was a bit of an airhead. Thankfully, Mundus wasn't an asshole and played his role as translator.
"Thanks for the help." Nexus said.
"No problem, anyway I have to go." The young woman runs off in a hurry. Nexus could only stare wondering why he was fixated on her.
"Wanna know why? she got a nice ass, that's why. You have to tap those cheeks boss." Mundus finally broke the silence with a vulgar comment, causing Nexus to snap out of his trance. He started to walk away, but he couldn't shake off the feeling of having a connection with this woman. As he walked, he wondered who she was and if he would ever see her again.
Little did he know, his journey in this new world was just beginning, and the woman with the star-shaped pupils would play a bigger role in it than he ever imagined.
AN: A little trivia.
Fiends: These are malevolent demons and spirits that dwell in the netherworld and human world and are often summoned by evil forces to do their bidding or are born out of humanity's seven deadly sins. They do not have a definitive shape, usually taking the form of a shadow, an object, or sometimes the people they intend to possess. Each monster has a unique appearance and abilities that come from what sin or circle of the underworld they come from.
In battle, Fiends are known for their agility and speed, but their most dangerous ability is to feed on the sins of humanity and their fears and develop new powers after feeding. Even in battle, it is highly advised to eliminate a fiend before it can finish feeding. It is said they grow stronger the longer they remain in the human realm and a Makai Knight and Kamen Rider must work together to kill one.
Type 1: These fiends are the weakest as they are only born when a human is negative emotions. They're strong and fast but don't have much in intelligence or strategy. You could say they are only driven by instinct that is dependent on the emotional state of what gave birth to them in the first place.
Type 2: These types of Fiends are born out of beliefs or superstitions. Unlike the type 1 their powers are completely dependent on their targets' fear, able to draw out fears that even their victims are unaware of. Though this does not mean will be weakened when you have gotten over your fear and trauma it only makes them more dangerous as now they see you as a potential threat.
Type 3: These Fiends are only born on great calamities or incidents when the world or nation is undergoing great negativity. It takes an entire group of Kamen Riders and Makai Knights to defeat one.
Type A: Also known as Type 'Armageddon' These fiends are so powerful their mere presence often affects the fabrics of time and space. No one knows how they came or come into existence but one thing is certain. A type A coming to the human realm means all hell is about to break loose.
