Chapter 3: Finances

Satisfied with what he received, Liam said his goodbye's to Irina and commanded Julianna to take him back to the mortal realm that they were on twenty minutes prior.

Julianna did as she was told and teleported them to the inn room they were in previously. "So, did you absorb some power or whatever?" Liam asked. Shocked, Julianna flinched.

"That... Wouldn't have been your plan all along, would it?" Julianna asked.

"Well, I did want to have fun, but most importantly, I needed you to have enough power to continue granting requests." Liam said simply.

"I see, so you aren't just a perverted pig, but also a very greedy man." Julianna said. Liam sighed.

"I suppose. No use in lying to myself, after all..." Liam said as he drifted into thought.

"Wait, that's it? No super insane ridiculous request that is completely sexually charged? No continuing the conversation?" Julianna asked with a confused tone as she sat on the bed.

"Well, there isn't much to add. You pretty much described me. On earth, though, I would probably never behave this way." Liam said.

"Right, and what makes here so different?" Julianna asked.

"Put simply, you. I have a goddess on my side and she is decently powerful at the least. This means that the amount of power I can gain is immense, all things considered, so I have no use in hiding my intentions, pretending not to be a pervert or not being driven by greed. I mean, I don't even know the moral standard of this place, but they allow slaves to get sexually and physically abused, it can't be high." Liam explained some of his thinking.

"Right..." Julianna said. 'This guy... Are you a fucking moral person or are you just some fucking asshole? Make up your mind already!' Julianna thought to herself.

"I'm going to go get some fresh air and check our surroundings." Liam said as he walked toward the door. Julianna nodded as she leaned back on the bed and Liam exited.

'What am I even doing?' Liam thought to himself. 'Did I seriously force a goddess to be willing to fuck me just because I was horny? That would never slide on earth me's radar.' Liam continued his thought process as he went down the stairs.

"Hello sir, going out for some fresh air?" The desk lady asked. Liam simply nodded as he exited the building. He reentered for a moment.

"Make sure lunch is brought up to my room. How much is it? I'll pay now." Liam said.

"For lunch, it's five copper." The girl said happily with a warm smile.

"Is dinner the same?" Liam asked. The girl nodded. "I want to pay for ten days in advance, lunch and dinner." Liam said as he held out a coin. The girl nodded as she took it, then went to inform the cook as well as the head of the inn. Liam exited the building once more and continued to think deeper on his moral conundrum.

'What would Yue think of me? No, why did she even come to mind? Why do I seem to still hold her in my mind, I'll probably never even see her again, so why?' As questions filled Liam's mind and he tried to find answers, he wandered around, eventually reaching a place with a sign reading 'Adventurers Guild'.

'So they have this common trope as well... Should I join? It wouldn't be a bad source of income other than Julianna, plus, if I can increase my reputation enough, I may be able to become involved in some politics... Could be useful, I'll think on it some more.' Liam thought about the idea for a little while as he stared at the guild hall.

"Need something little man?" A large brutish man asked from behind Liam.

"I'm just deciding whether or not it is a good idea to join the guild." Liam stated.

"The guild isn't for the dainty and weak! You'll just ruin our reputation!" The man said with an insulting tone.

'Those years of hanging out with Yue are really paying off. I'm not even angry at the guy.' Liam thought to himself. "Yeah, you're right." Liam said as he walked off. Liam could hear the man laughing from behind him.

Liam began walking back to the inn before long, and quickly reached the entrance. As he entered, he could smell food from every corner of the establishment. "Hello sir! We were just about to bring your food to your room, two plates, one is a slave plate while the other is for usual tenants.

Liam nodded. 'I imagine the slave plate is practically free, then again, why did I even order food? I literally don't need it. Maybe I just did it out of reflex?' Liam realized that he had pretty much wasted a silver, but he didn't think to deeply on the subject as he returned to the room.

"You were gone for almost an hour!" Julianna began to nag once more. Ignoring this, Liam looked into her eyes. His flat expression seemingly piercing through Julianna's soul. "W-what?" She asked with a slight hint of fear.

"Do you need to eat?" Liam asked. Shocked by this question, Julianna took a moment to answer.

'I was expecting him to eat me alive...' She thought to herself. "No, I don't, though I do enjoy the act." She said.

"Good, because I ordered food out of habit." Liam said lightly.

"Really? I imagine you ordered their usual, so a full plate alongside a slave plate, yeah?" Julianna asked. Liam nodded.

"I don't want mine, so take it." He said as he moved the table and sat. "Also, it would probably be weird for a slave to be sitting on the bed, so sit on the floor until they come up here and leave." Liam advised Julianna.

"R-right." She said as she stood up and sat on the floor in the far right corner of the room. After a few seconds, they heard a knock on the door. Liam stood up and quickly walked to the door and opened it.

"Place them both on the table, I'll deal with it from there." Liam said simply.

"Right, right!" The young girl said excitedly. Of course, this girl is different from the desk lady, she seems younger and much less busty. Her hair, features, and eyes are similar to the desk lady's, so presumably, they are related.

After a few seconds, the girl had placed the plates down and exited the room. "Alright, you can eat." Liam said.

"I don't need your permission." Julianna said. Liam didn't respond, he just walked over to the chair and sat down, as Julianna did with the other one. Julianna quickly began eating.

"How much is it to purchase a land and a house, and where do I do it?" Liam asked. Julianna paused for a moment.

"You would buy a house from the merchant's guild since they control most of the real estate market. The price depends on the house or land, though the minimum is likely fifty silver. Why?" Julianna asked.

"I want my own estate, is that so much to ask?" Liam asked rhetorically.

"I see..." Julianna said as she drifted into thought.

"Give me a spatial storage to house coins, then give me a few hundred of each except platinum, only a couple of platinum." Liam said. 'I suppose this will fix the money issue for a while.' Liam thought to himself. Julianna sighed.

"Granted. I figured it was only a matter of time before you did this..." Julianna said. "Though I will admit, I didn't expect you to not ask for a large sum of platinum." Julianna added.

"Of course I wouldn't. That would practically ruin the economy if I introduced those into circulation." Liam said simply. "Also, I was thinking of buying slaves to work for me. I don't particularly like making people suffer excessive amounts needlessly, and that's likely to happen to slaves." Liam said.

"Right, so we need to visit the merchant's guild and the slave auction. Lucky for you, there's an auction being held in three days." Julianna said.

I am honestly surprised by the amount I am writing, why can't I have dedication like this on my main?
