LUCKY DAY

Today is Friday, another boring work day for Julie.

She hurriedly ate her breakfast, so she won't be late for work.

When she was done, she grabbed her black bag and yelled.

" Bye love."

Josiah does not respond because he does not hear her, he is showering in the bathroom.

Julie glanced at the wall clock, it was five minutes past seven. She didn't want to be any minute late, so she walked to the door and wore her high heels.

"Yo, babe, don't forget, your keys are in my wardrobe. "

She echoed loud enough to be heard.

" What did you say? "

Josiah asks, waiting to hear her repeat what she said. But she didn't hear him, she was too busy arranging her bag.

Julie looked at herself in a mirror on the wall and smiled at her reflection, she wore her lenses, styled her hair into a side pony, Then she switched off her small television and straightened her shirt before leaving her apartment. She was a bread winner and her boyfriend was still trying to get a stable job so he could buy her a fine house that they can live in and start a family together after getting married.

Closing the door behind her, she quickly walked down the stairs out of the apartment building and halted on the sidewalk.

Within seconds, She stopped a taxi and entered it.

During the drive to work, her phone rang, she took it out from her bag and answered the call.

" Hello, Josiah? "

" Um, babe, did you see my keys? I can't seem to find it anywhere, I've been looking for it, I don't know where it is... "

Josiah complained.

" I told you, before leaving, it's in my wardrobe. "

Julie answered him.

" Oh right, thanks. " He says and the call ends .

After about twenty minutes she arrived at work.

During work hours, Julie noticed that a folder was missing from her desk drawer, The first thought that came to her mind was Richard, so she goes to his office to collect the missing file, she suspected he took it from her desk without telling her, he had done it before.

Richard's office was not locked, the door was opened, So she entered his office.

She halts and looks around in search of where he must have kept the file.

As she searched around, her eyes saw something on the wall and she looked again, keeping a fixed gaze on it, she glared and frowned at a big portrait of Richard, hanging on the wall,

In the picture, he was dressed in one of his black suit, smiling with his thumbs up. She rolled her eyes and voiced in her mind.

" He's so full of himself. "

She continues looking for the file, by opening and checking through each document in his desk drawer.

" What are you doing? "

Richard asked as soon as he entered and sees Julie in his office. His voice caught her completely off guard.

In slight shock, Julie stopped what she was doing and quickly turned around.

" Oh I was looking for one of my files, have you seen it? " She asked.

" I don't think it's here."

Richard says while folding his hands and giving her a suspicious look.

"Are you sure you didn't take it from my office? Cause that's what you did before and I'm sick and tired of your stupid pranks. " She deadpanned.

"Try checking your office, I know better than to steal people's files."

He says strictly, slightly annoyed.

" If you think this is funny, it's not. "

She says without smiling.

Julie walks away from his desk.

Richard walked to his seat and sat down behind his desk.

When she was almost out of his office, she halts and turns to him.

" In case you see any of my files, just let me know okay?"

Richard gives her a mute stare.

She continues.

" I don't want to have issues with anyone in this company because of silly pranks."

She shoots these words at him with a grin on her face before leaving his office. And Richard saw that Julie was upset with him.

Julie went back to her office and sat down behind her desk, she was about to type on her computer when she noticed a yellow file at the top edge of her desk. It was the missing folder, she had been looking for.

It was now on her desk, she sighed and shook her head, she knew Richard had returned the file he stole from her, she was used to his silly pranks. She wondered why he took the file in the first place. He was so confusing, weird, yet so damn good looking.

"That guy is so bored, he goes to people's office to steal their files when they're not around.

Gosh! What a jobless jerk! "

Julie says, slightly annoyed.

Shortly after, Richard walks up to Julie and says in a happy tone with an annoying smile on his face.

" Good morning hardworking lady"

" Argh! What do you want from me? "

Julie grumbles, annoyed at his presence, she knew he was going to ask her for a favour, and she hated running errands for him.

His tone changes into a formal one as he says.

"If you're not busy, I need your help. "

Julie sighed and grinned at him.

" How can i help you? "

She says with a forced smile on her face, trying very hard to control her temper.

Richard smiles and says.

" Can you help me move those boxes over there to the third floor, Thanks. "

He pointed at a stack of brown boxes.

"Why is it always me you Know how to bother? "

Julie asks him in an irritated tone, with a questioning look on her face.

He could tell that she was annoyed but he didn't care.

Richard leaned forward, placing his elbows on her desk as he says in a low tone.

"To be honest, you're the only one here that listens to me. And I appreciate that."

Julie frowns and asks.

"Is that a compliment or a confession?"

" Both. " He answered with a smile.

"The boxes are much, so I suggest you start packing them now." He suggested.

He stood straight and said aloud.

"I promise you, it's not a command, it's a humble request."

Then he smiles at her. Revealing his extremely, White, teeth.

Julie ignored him and continued her work, She saved herself the stress of being confused and trying to comprehend his strange behavior. He playfully touched her cheek and looked at her in admiration, she glared at him and looked at her computer, her eyes fixed on the screen and her fingers busy on the keyboard,

Richard Stood, smiling appreciatively at her before Walking away.

As soon as he left, Julie got up to carry the not so heavy boxes Richard cursed her with.

While she was in the elevator, she thought to herself.

" Out of everyone in the room, it's me, he chose to pester."

She let out a deep sigh and vowed in her mind that this would be the last time she would run silly errands for Richard ever again. "

Who gave him the right to boss everyone around? just because his brother owns the company. He thinks he can fool around like a jobless monkey!"

Julie hissed.

" Gosh, he's so annoying "

she says in annoyance..

Within minutes, She finished the task and went back to sit in her office to continue her work.

Shortly after she had taken the boxes upstairs.

Richard Walked up to her and said.

" Thanks. " He spoke with a serious almost bored look on his face.

" You're welcome. "

She blurted out, without looking up.

He stood staring at her for few seconds as if expecting her to say something. But Julie remained silent without looking at him, So he walked away to his office.
