Apex Academy

An hour or two went by as Ryder comforted Kaylee reassuring her that he's not going to leave her side as they head into the castle.

"What are you two lovebirds doing? Go and get your stuff together. Didn't I tell you, you are heading for Apex Academy today!"

Sirius headed over to them trying to tease them a little while also rushing them to get ready for what's to come.

However Kaylee's face turned a bright red hearing her grandpa's words. Ryder on the other hand bowed before his master hiding his facial expressions as he looks towards the hallway leading towards his room close by.

"Y-yes master I'll go and gather my things right now!"

Ryder turned around running towards his room with a red blush covering his cheeks but a small smile could be seen on the boys face.

A carriage had been prepared for Ryder and Kaylee, both of them had been wearing the symbol of Apex Academy on their robes. However Kaylee's was very much different then Ryders.

Ryder had white and gold colors for his robes however Kaylee had a purplish black robe resembling her galaxy like hair making her look like a princess from the stars more then a cultivator on Arcadia.

"Come on Ryder! Let's get to school already and show those snobs how great we are!"

The beautiful princess ran out of the castle jumping onto the carriage with a smile on her face as she waved Ryder over becoming him to her side.

"It was a pleasure to train under you master Sirius… I hope to see you again and receive your guidance in the future"

He had his head bowed before his master waiting for his reply before a hand was placed on his head putting him at ease.

"We will meet again Ryder, keep training with your other weapons and watch out for Kaylee. She doesn't understand right now but Apex Academy will be harsh. Her authority has been taken away only leaving behind her own talent and power that she has to rely on. Keep her out of trouble if you can this is my request to you"

"Of course master… I will try my best to keep her safe"

Sirius nodded to the boy before releasing his head and waving him off.

"Go, you don't want to keep her waiting"

The boy gave Sirius a smile as he ran off joining Kaylee he waved to everyone finally leaving the castle with his princess heading for the academy.

Standing before the carriage a gate with a large A was blocking their advance as guards look over some papers before opening the gate letting both kids and their driver through.

Both of them looked around eagerly at the school. One being filled with a sense of adventure and excitement while the other examined the students they passed trying to grasp what kind of people they will be dealing with as well as what kind of instructors he may get.

Upon arrival the tomboy princess leaped out of her carriage giggling as she drags Ryder out just to run towards the entrance of the school.

The school was a like a massive college campus. This campus was filled with white and gold buildings, each of them had signs indicating the type of building it was.

Currently they were heading into the main campus finishing their paper work and receiving a badge with the letter A on it as well as their schedules.

Kaylee was to busy asking the worker at the front desk about the school and classes while Ryder went over his schedule trying to keep an ear out for anything interesting while Kaylee continues her conversation.

'Knight training in the morning, educational classes at noon, and a class called Mental Fortitude? What is that supposed to be for?'

"Ryder what did you get for classes? I got Noble work studies, Avatar Release preparation, and Avatar Arts training!"

"Oh… well looks like we don't have any classes together at the moment. I'm sorry Kaylee, it looks like I won't be able to be by your side at all times"

Kaylee looked like she was about to cry after hearing that. She went from being happy one moment to having a big frown clearly unhappy about the current situation.

"Then let's go get your schedule changed! Or mine!"

She walked over to the main desk asking about changing the schedule before she walked back over grabbing Ryder by the arm before dragging him further into the campus.

They had traveled to another building behind the main one. This building however took care of placing everyone into classes they need to pass before they can move forward to either their main program or another supplementary class.

When they got there Kaylee had many things to say about their schedules however none of the workers had given her special treatment. They had refused to change the schedules however Ryder had another idea.

"Then instead of getting rid of certain classes can you add another to my schedule?"

"… That could be possible however the schedules are made with your physical bodies limit in mind. Going beyond that limit might harm your studies are you sure you would like another class to be added to your schedule?"

"Yes, I would like to choose Avatar Release Preparation if that is available"

"Unfortunately that class is only for those who have reached Silver Rank. Besides a Bronze rank wouldn't be able to do the training anyways"

"Then what classes could I join that Kaylee could also do?"

"Hmm… you could both sign up for Soul Realm Theory, Introduction To Soul Technique's, and Rune Creation"

"Rune Creation? What are runes?"

Kaylee finally came forward interrupting both of them in the middle of their conversation.

"Just sign us up for Rune Creation, we don't have much time Ryder! Classes are going to start in 20 minutes and we haven't even seen the rest of the campus or where our classes are supposed to be!?"

Ryder immediately looked around at the walls finding what looked like a clock run by a small crystal in the center of the clocks hands.

"The knight training is to the left of this building across the paths in the big open field behind the Library and theories building! Princess you will be going inside the Library and theories building!"

The guy behind his desk yelled out to both of them as they started to rush out going to look for their class locations. Upon hearing the man Ryder gave him a respectful nod before taking the lead holding Kaylee's hand while they ran to their classes.

Many people watched both freshmen rush towards class, one a beautiful women and the other a handsome boy with a pair of gauntlets attached to his belt along with a sword on his left hip.

Some of the commoners who got into the academy was surprised at the scene of another commoner casually holding hands with the princess. However the nobles who watched this scene began to become irritated at the sight.

"How could a Royal be so friendly with a trashy commoner! He took 3 whole years just to get to bronze 5 star and yet someone less talented then me can casually grab the princess and call her name? I don't think so!"

This young man had long black hair, his eyes orange in color like the color of a flame. His outfit was also black in color with little spots of red especially around the A on his chest.

When looking around many individuals were either wearing black or white. Those wearing black seemed to be some form of noble while those in white were commoners.

However Ryder and Kaylee finally made it to their class with 5 minutes to spare. Ryder had been followed by a couple nobles and commoners also attending the class as well as a couple who aren't supposed to be here.

"Mr. Barker I'm sitting in for this class today, I hope you don't mind…"

The noble wearing black and red moved to the back of the class acting like he was examining the people here however his eyes always landed on Ryder which only made him feel more annoyed.

'This boy doesn't even know what he has done… fine then, let's beat this lessen into him during the open spar'

"Alright! My name is Jason Barker, call me Mr. Barker. Today we will be going over the duties of a knight as well as some basic muscle training before open spar to finish off class!"

The class quickly quieted down, some listened intently while others mainly nobles showed expressions of uninterest one even yawned upon the start of the teachers lecture.

Ryder especially listened to the teacher, he drowned out the surrounding individuals as he carved the words of his teacher into his heart.

"You must show bravery, strength and skill in battle, to respect women, to defend the weak and the poor, to be generous to others and loyal to their lord, their family and their friends.

This is a knights duties, you all should memorize those words and try your best to stick to your duties starting now!"

Barker had spent a hour talking about the specific duties a knight has to their people. He had also gone over many different exceptional knights in history however the one that stands above them all was named the hero of Arcadia a women who united Arcadia and all its continents in the past.

"Now then, start the basic work out on the board. After you have finished start your sparing sessions, remember you are knights. Not some common bandits, fight with honor or you can get out of my class!"

A couple Nobles scoffed at the threat however the commoners immediately got into groups before finally starting on the exercise.

Ryder however was by himself though he seemed to have a much easier time training his body then any of the others besides some commoners and a couple hard working nobles.

'Phew… let's get my sparring over with so I can meet up with Kaylee before our next class'

He looked up after sitting down taking a short break only to be met with a black haired noble looking at him with disgust.

"Hey trash, get up and get ready. Me and you are going to spar I need to teach you a very valuable lesson"
