Christmas Dinner

"Scream's" premiere went smoothly and the responses of the critics and audience were very positive. Critics praised the movie very much.

"A wonderful horror movie, but with a new style. Scream gives us a look into an original unexplored genre, and it knows how to use every element of the storyline to its advantage very well." commented Empire Magazine.

"A different yet the same type of horror. Scream is very different from the usual horror films, but also the same at the same time." said Vanity Fair Post.

Los Angeles time commented: "An Intelligent Blond.

Eve Thompson played her role Sidney wonderfully and proved that she isn't a 'Dismal in Distress'. Sidney in the movie knows how to protect herself, instead for waiting for the hero. She is the perfect example of beauty with brains."

New York Times wrote: "Eve Thompson proved herself and showed that her first hit was well deserved. Some say acting in a horror movie is easy, and it might be true. But portraying every expression and fright vividly needs much more than just little acting skills."

California times commented sarcastically: "With this movie, Eve Thompson is going to become darling of those big studios. After all, where can they find a perfect cash machine who can increase the box office of their movies. A perfect commercial vase and soon to be favorite of big six."

Other actors in the movie also recieved praises, but not as much as Eve. Even Drew Barrymore and Cox Cortney were suppressed by Eve's fame and popularity, and she deserves every bit of this praise. Giving two box office blockbusters in just a span of two months is a feat to be proud about.

"Scream" debuted at 2nd spot on the box office chart grossing 14 million $ on the opening weekend just behind twenty million collection of "Beavis and Butt head on America". It beat the Tom Cruise's "Jerry McGuire" in collection, although the later was in second week of its release.

The box office of "Scream" can said to be only good in the first week, but the box office charts showed green (positive) tilt in the second week, and the film grossed 19 million dollars in the second week, 6 million higher than the previous one.

The whole film industry is immersed in the name of Eve Thompson, and she was having her annual Christmas dinner with both of her parents. Although Liam and Keira have been divorced for more than ten years, but they didn't had usual bloodthirsty fights like usual divorced couples. They are both busy in their careers in England and USA, but they created this tradition of having Christmas dinner together every year for the sake of Eve. Although no one ever asked Eve for her opinion in this regard.

On the sloemn dinner table, the atmosphere was a little awkward as every year. In order to relieve the atmosphere, Keira spoke first: "Eve, what are your plans for future? Have you thought about coming with me."

As if someone stepped on his tail, Liam retorted before Eve could even answer: "What do you mean by going with you. Eve's home is here and she is very happy with me."

Keira didn't listen to words of the Barbaric man, and looked at her daughter for answer.

Liam was furious seeing so balant ignore of himself. This damn woman always thinks that only she is the educated one.

Eve who was asked the question, was a little embarrassed. She doesn't want to reject Keira but she also wants to stay here.

Keira understood her daughter's thoughts and said first: "You can stay here first. Anyway, it's not very important there. I was just saying it because Frank has been a little ill lately."

Eve felt relieved hearing Keira's words. She smiled: "Thank you Mom, I will visit you and Frank soon."

Keira nodded.

Liam felt as if he was being ignored by his daughter in the presence of this woman. He changed the topic: "Dear I am very proud of you. Do you know all the executives were urging me to ask you to sign further Fox's movies, but I declined saying that it's your choice and no one will interfere with it."

What he said is indeed right. Fox is very happy with Eve's "Romeo and Juliet", and after the success of "Scream", Eve's worth has increased a lot. They want Eve to immediately sign more projects with the studio.

Eve replied: "I will read the scripts, and if I really find something good, I don't mind signing it."

Keira saw her ex-husband's trick to have their daughter's attention, and sneered. Liam saw the mocking look on the damned woman face and felt his face burn hot. It's too embarrassing getting exposed in front of his ex-wife. He is ready to fight if this woman said anything about him.

To the opposite, Keira didn't say anything provocative and stood up from the dining table. She said while leaving: "Dear, I am done with the dinner, you can continue. Both me and Frank are proud of you. And by the way, your grandpa has sent you an interesting Christmas gift, you can look for it tomorrow."

After Keira left, only Liam and Eve were left on the table. Liam continued to chatter about Keira's hypocrisy, while Eve enjoyed her dinner. There was a smile at the corner of her mouth all the time. Although she didn't ask for it, but it's good to have such family dinners once an year.

P.S. "Scream" was indeed a success, but it's collection of first week written in the novel is false. Just consider it as a change.
