Amy was placed in Hufflepuff due to jack interference he asked Mr.hat to do so. he did that to keep her safe. and did not want her to involve herself with Ginny Weasley if she ended up in Gryffindor it will be dangerous for her now and the future if she involves herself.
Jack saw Amy sitting near the Hufflepuff table where all the first year sat she was happy, as was shown on her face. All of Hufflepuff knew about jack having a sister during his popularity last year with quidditch. so she was welcomed by the second year students especially Susan bones and Hannah abbot.
Jack did not see Harry and Ron in the great hall he just saw Hermoine who was actually worried about her friends as she was looking at the entrance to find them, they will probably come to Hogwarts via the magical car like in the books or movies.
later that night Jack met Mr.hat he asked him about Salazaar Slytherin the founder like the rumors were true about him falling out with the other founders and the true reason for the basilisk to be kept here.
"Slytherin was an orphan, who master had found him, his family was eradicated or killed from the witch trials so he had deep resentments towards the normal humans, not muggle-borns just the regular humans". Mr.hat said to jack
"But he was a child with talents, he was a parselmouth and in the future, he became a top healer using his parseltongue, he made many spells in parseltongue too".
"During the starting of Hogwarts, he did not oppose muggle-borns he just wanted them to leave the muggle world. or detach completely from them it means they (muggle-borns)can not interact with their own parents"
"This was not accepted by the rest of the founders, they said that they were not sinners to take a child from their parents, during that conversation Godric Gryffindor the hot-blooded he was said some things like he was an orphan he did know nothing how close a child and parents are,
etc"
"This made Slytherin angry after that, he rarely met or interacted with the founders and disappeared after that"
"As to the basilisk, it was his familiar it was kept to save the school and students from dangers. He was a true founder".
After listening to that jack had respect towards Slytherin, even after what happened he left his familiar the basilisk to keep the school safe.
Then jack asked Mr.hat if he is okay with the basilisk being killed and asked him about the parseltongue healing spells.
"The basilisk suffered a lonely life till now and is being manipulated again so its best if it comes to rest now." "Regarding the books, you can check the chamber if you find any or they probably be in the Gringotts under Slytherin name or their family inheritance".
The days went the same until Halloween when the first attack commerced. jack saw how ginny opened the chambers and then he even discovered the basilisk movements in the pipes all was shown in the book.
before the attack jack placed many magical alarm spells or charm and soul magic charms too to let him know the movements of basilisk through his ring.
Most of the magic spells were destroyed but the soul spells were there. jack can only guess the power in basilisk eyes to obliterate those magic spells.
Jack thought that maybe the basilisk eyes will harm the soul if you were seen directly, and will be killed and petrified if seen its reflection he thought as he has a powerful soul he can see the basilisk eyes directly but it was only a theory.
The next day after the attack, the were many rumors and discussions going around the school related to the chamber of secrets. about Salazar Slytherin, the monster, etc.
The following week Quidditch practice had started, to find new blood for the team or tryouts for the second-year students. As the Quidditch matches were going to start all the house teams were practicing for the upcoming matches.
This year's tournament started with the match between Gryffindor and Slytherin. Malfoy from Slytherin was the seeker he sucked at being a seeker, maybe he can be a good chaser as for being a seeker he did not have those reflexes. like the snitch was near him, he did not spot it. Harry on the other hand easily spotted and caught and won the game and then was hit by the ball or Bludger which Dobby enchanted it.
The next match was between Hufflepuff and Slytherin. Obviously jack had won he had an advantage over spotting the snitch. By using the soul eyes of his often his normal eyesight had become sharp or improved so he was easily able to spot it.
Amy was happy for her brother she enjoyed the game and complimented him, she was doing great in Hufflepuff she made many friends.
During the night, Jack sensed the alarms which he had placed, the basilisk was going hunting jack sneaked from his rooms he wanted to see how the basilisk looked. he followed the location by referring to the book of movements.
The first impression of a basilisk from seeing from a corner, only from its back. it was huge had green scales jack activated his soul's eyes and saw that the beast was overloaded with magic especially its eyes, they were piercing even though he saw it from the back. he did not know what will happen if he saw it directly but he was not going to take the risk.
Jack saw the beast's action, the student was only petrified. he did not involved like saving the student. if he did, and he was not successful to chase it away and during that confrontation, someone saw it any accidentally become dead or next time there will be a dead body instead of petrified.
Jack knew that the sound of a Rooster will harm the basilisk it may even go on frenzy so he did not o anything. He will supervise its hunt, and see that there will be no deaths only petrified.
The next day all the students were shocked and scared after learning the situation in the school, many students formed groups from going from one place to another.
Christmas,
"So Aunt when are you going to teach me about Animagus," Jack asked aunt min, he has been asking her since this summer she said that she will but she keeps ignoring.
"Are you sure about it its a painful process and advanced magic it's difficult and there will be some danger mostly for Muggleborns".She replied to jack
"Aunt min please I want to do this, I believe I will succeed".Jack pleaded
Jack if wanted he can do it himself, but he read that there should be someone to supervise as the process is complicated and someone had to undo the process if anything went wrong. if not, he/she will be stuck into that form they turned.
"First I will give you some advance book you need to learn it thoroughly and , I will take the test on it if you qualify we can think about it".She said by looking at jack's pleading
"Ok" Jack nodded to that.
Jack knew what she was thinking, she was right as for a muggle-born to be an Animagus is a long shot even in the books Hermoine did not do this, as this is someone related to one's magic capacity as normal wizards children like Harry or Ron have more magic than Hermoine but to use it efficiently is another matter.
But she did not know about Jack his capacity or his potential.

(As to why jack did not interfere by taking the book directly from ginny as he wanted the plot to be the same till Dumbledore dies in part 6 of the book or the half-blood prince.
he will directly involve himself after Dumbledore dies, as if he act now there will be complication the major one will be related to dumbledore. and he might use him to manipulate or do some shady business and he may not die and create more future trouble.
he has many contracts or supporters be it may be in ministry the noble houses or the international statue of liberty. so if he somehow made them feel like jack went to the dark side or he will become second Voldemort or his identity found out there will be a danger to his family etc.
This was not just Jack thought he had a conversation related to these things with the hat he told jack about Dumbledore, he is intelligent Cunning deceive and do anything to reach his goals and Jack is Wary of him he is an old bastard but he is tuff bastard. his position is proof of that cheif warlock...etc
So till Dumbledore dies he will involve himself but in background or places outside his reach. like He may take up fight with Voldemort in the Cemetery. or he may help the order of phoenix members in the Department of ministry, like a shadow in illusion form Mr.dean.)
