His Home Is Her Home. A Date. Flashbacks. A Muggle Restaurant.

"I think I am going to head home!" James said slowly, "I think I caused enough wedding drama already,"

He pointed his finger to Petunia and Vernon who were arguing in a corner.

"I think I'll come with you!"

They walked outside, and he offered a hand to Lily, who took it, and they disapparated at the gates.

"Well, home sweet home!" Lily took off her coat and hung it on the rack.

He looked at her. Home. She called his house….home. A smile appeared on his face.

They were going to their bedrooms as James stopped, and said,

"Hey, Lily!"

"Yes,"

"I have to ask you something, and I know I am not allowed, but now I kinda have to." James looked for words, he stumbled then he said, "And totally okay if you say no, it's okay, okay? And, I won't ask again if you say no."

Lily waited for him to complete his sentence. She hadn't seen him this nervous, ever.

"Go on a date with me?!"

James was looking at her, the minute she took to think about it, and it felt like hours. James thought that moment would never end.

"Yes, I would love to." Lily said, "I would."

"Thanks," He grinned, widely.

James went into his room, took out his wand and put on a charm for containing voices in his room.

"YES!" He shouted.

"How did you do it?" Peter Pettigrew asked him.

"Yeah, I thought she made it clear!" Remus said after that.

"Nah, I thought she was into you ever since last year!" Sirius said, as he lay on the couch with a bowl of chips on his chest. He took some and stuffed them into his mouth.

"WHAT?!" All the others shouted.

"How did you know?" James asked him.

"Dude, I could see what was happening, The time she took care of you when you were sick, and all of that with when you were dating Mary." Sirius said with his mouthful, "You know, when you were not irritating the hell out of her, she missed you, I think."

"So why didn't you say something?" James demanded.

"I asked Lily, and she said she would cut my throat if I said anything to you."

"So she said she didn't want James to know about it?" Remus asked him.

"No, she said, She will tell you, when she figures out what she wants." Sirius took more chips and stuffed them into his mouth."She wanted time."

FLASHBACK: SIRIUS CONFRONTING LILY:

"So Evans, I have to ask!"

Sirius slid over from the rock and landed right next to Lily who was sitting by the statue in the grounds.

"What?" Lily said, "Is this about Potions?"

"No, Evans!" Sirius grinned, "This is about someone special!"

"What? Who?" She didn't understand, "You like someone?"

"Me?" Sirius let out a bark like laugh. "Not me? It's about you."

"Me?" Lily tried to look shocked, and her ears went a little red, "What about me?"

"You like Prongsie? Don't you?"

"What? no, I..."

"Don't try to deny it, Evans!" Sirius stared at her.

"Who told you?"

"No one," Sirius batted an eye, "I can see, you know, I am not blind, you are refraining yourself from becoming one of the Potter fan girls. I can see the struggles, not worth it."

Lily looked at him, "Sirius, promise me you won't say anything!"

"I can't do that!"

"Yes, and if you say anything, I will make you pay!" Lily's green eyes glinted dangerously.

FLASHBACK OVER

"So why are we going to a muggle restaurant for our first date?" James held the door.

"My parents took us there, all the time." Lily came outside. "It is a very nice place."

"Okay!" James closed the door, and pushed the key in his pocket. "If you say so, But I am not sitting in a...what was that again."

James motioned and waved his hands in a weird direction.

"A car!" She laughed.

"Yes, that, I don't want that."

"It would have been fun." Lily walked along with him.

He held out his hand, and they disapparated, now they stood behind a restaurant. They walked through the side of the alley, to the front door as the guard opened the door.

"This is nice!" James said, pulling the chair for Lily.

"I told you," Lily smiled as she sat down.

The waiter went away as Lily asked him for a minute.

"Isn't this a little empty?" James asked her, as he looked around.

The whole restaurant was empty. There were no people, except two men sitting in the corner.

"Did you book the whole place?" James asked again, "Or is this how muggle places work?"

He whispered. Lily noticed what he said. It was empty. There was no one there.

"That's weird!" Lily didn't notice it until James mentioned it. "I think, maybe it is Monday, that's why!"

"I suppose!" James said slowly, as the waiter came back to get their order. "Let's order."

The waiter took their order and disappeared behind the door. James was fumbling for words. He was a little nervous. He always wanted this, but now that he had his chance he didn't know what to talk about.

"I know," Lily started up the conversation. "Sirius pushed you into this!"

"What?" James was horrified. "He told you?"

"Yes,"

"That git," James punched the window beside them. "He broke the code!"
