CHAPTER 51

In the end, they didn't meet Penny. Maybe Sun ran through another place. Maybe Penny was in another location. Or maybe she didn't even arrive in Vale for all he knew.

All in all, the Butterflies fucked with him and he had to return empty-handed.

At least he got 1% for having a chance meeting with Sun.

Not that he cared about Sun. Especially now that the Exams for the end of the 1st term were beginning.

The Beacon curriculum was separated into three terms each year.

The 1st term was heavily focused on Theoretical parts.

During the second term, the students will be allowed to go on missions every now and then but under the guidance of an older team or a teacher.

The 3rd Semester is mostly practical and during this time, the Students are sent on monthly long missions under trained Hunters in nearby outposts where they learn that being Hunter doesn't mean that you always get to do the cool job and fight Grimm and Bandits and save the humanity.

That would be like assuming that a soldier at a border outpost always fights the enemies from the enemy country.

It happens sometimes. But not always.

The students also get paid (not a lot) during this time but the pay allows them to take care of their weapons and buy new ones by saving for a while if their old weapons aren't up to the task.

The Missions are also divided into tiers from E to A. After that, there are S rank, SS rank, and SSS rank missions.

Fighting a horde of Manticore Grimm would be classified as an S rank mission while fighting the Wyvern which had taken over Beacon would probably classify as SSS rank mission.

He thought of Cardin and his group which had been assigned to take only E rank missions for the rest of the year because of their bullying activities and snickered to himself.

At least those bastards stopped bullying the other students after the Forever Fall incident.

It was a pity that the show never managed to reach the 3rd Semester of the 1st year. That would've been something worth watching.

Oh well, if the whole Grimm Wyvern thing doesn't happen then he'll probably be able to experience the 3rd Semester himself.

And then maybe-

BZZT! BZZT!

He took out his Scroll and noticed that he had a message from… Neo.

His heart sped as he wondered if Neo had finally managed to meet Cinder Fall.

From what Neo had told him earlier this week, Cinder and her cronies had already left Vale for an unknown reason.

If he had to guess the reason then it'll probably be because they had to sign up as a student from the Haven Academy in order to infiltrate Beacon.

Hmm… maybe he won't even need Neo's help anymore if Cinder actually comes to him.

But if Neo did manage to get Cinder's location then…

He unlocked the device and opened the text from Neo.

"Got something for you *wink emoticon*."

He stared at the attachment in the text and opened it.

It was an image of Ilia Amitola. A 5th tier Waifu in the Catalog.

And he now had her image and could Track her with the 'Target Tracker' App.

Should he do it or not?

He didn't know much about this person. The only thing he knew was that she had some form of relationship with Blake in the past and that she was now with the White Fang.

He had no doubt that she would've appeared in the future episodes but he had lost interest in the Series after the Fall of Beacon and had only seen a few scenes and snippets.

After reading about Snape and Itachi, he had learned to not judge villains at the start. For all he knew, she might be working for Ozpin as a spy, however unlikely it was.

But if she was not an 'Itachi' then what did he knew about her?

He knew that once Blake saw how fucked up White Fang had become, she 'Noped' the fuck out of there while this girl probably went 'Yeah! Fuck all humans' and continued with her terrorist buddies.

Was it enough to condemn her to whatever the Company did to girls who were sold to it?

…it probably was.

He would probably hesitate far more if the girl was a hunter-in-training like Blake but she was a terrorist so in his humble opinion, she was an open game.

After hesitating for another moment, he put her image on Target Tracker App.

He saw her location and… she was outside the city of Vale and quickly moving away from the city. Probably on a Bullhead and going to their Headquarters.

He thought about it for a moment before he sent a message to the Malachite Twins.

'Got a mission for you two girls. Are you busy right now?'

'No. Is the mission about the girl in the Target Tracker?' came Miltia's message a moment later.

'Yes. Capture her for me please.'

He would've done this personally but with the exam looming over his head, he didn't have the time to do it now and would need to shelve it for later.

'It'll be done.'

'Be safe.'
