After leaving the garden, Akira began aimlessly wandering around, eliminating any parasites he came across along the way.
"The door, huh," Akira muttered as he recalled how he acquired the door and a few weapons from the overweight hero a week ago.
_
A week ago (in this world).
"I'm going out for a walk," Akira said after finishing dinner and stepped out of Sakura Sou.
As he walked, he made his way towards Tengo's house, driven by curiosity about the treasure the hefty hero was rumored to possess.
"Usually, he would receive something from his grandfather to enhance his spiritual power, or he could be a repugnant hero from a hentai anime," Akira pondered, considering the two most plausible scenarios. "Or perhaps he might meet an untimely demise due to some divine mishap and be reincarnated into a world of magic and swords."
Lost in thought, Akira contemplated the typical plotlines surrounding such heroes.
After a while, Akira arrived at Tengo's house and stealthily entered through the fence, ensuring his presence remained hidden.
Crash! The sound of breaking glass resonated through the air, catching Akira's attention.
Silently, Akira slipped inside and witnessed the battered and bruised fat hero, sobbing and berating himself.
"Nothing will change!" the fat hero exclaimed angrily, striking the wall with his bleeding hand after shattering the mirror.
Ting! A soft sound followed as the wall split open, revealing a secret room.
"Interesting," thought Akira, hastening after the fat hero and blending into the darkness.
Why didn't he kill him? Simply because Akira didn't yet know the true value of the treasure, and more importantly, he didn't want to sacrifice a steady source of benefits for a momentary gain.
Surely, only a fool who couldn't see beyond the present and failed to consider the future would make such a rash move.
"...," Akira entered the room and surveyed the chaotic space, filled with peculiar objects. However, what truly captured Akira's attention was a floating black and red cube and a wooden door engraved with an owl in the corner.
"Akane, can you assess the room and determine the most valuable item within?" Akira asked through his thoughts, observing the fat hero's approach to the wooden door.
[Ding! 4k points deducted... Room analysis in progress... Completed.]
"It appears that this door is connected to another world, and the cube is an advanced technology of extraterrestrial origin," reported Akane.
"Can you take ownership of the door without removing it from the fat hero?" Akira inquired, eyeing the fat hero as he prepared to open the door.
"The system can achieve this and attempt to acquire additional items, but it will cost 10k points," replied Akane.
"Do it, Akane," commanded Akira, as he witnessed the fat hero open the door, leading to a wooden house.
[Ding! 10k points deducted... Ownership of the door acquired, granting the title of Door Master. Sword, scythe, clothes, and shoes obtained.]
"Weapons and items stored in Babel Gate."
"Ownership of the house acquired, granting the title of House Master. Title of Person from Another World obtained."
"Further item acquisition not possible due to their connection to an individual named Tengu Yuya."
[Ding! Congratulations on altering the plot and obtaining opportunities as a hero. You have been awarded 40k points.]
"That will suffice," Akira declared, seizing the red and black cube. He cast a glance at the fat hero and thought, "Grow well so that I may reap the rewards when you are ripe."
With this notion in mind, Akira vanished from the Tengu house, reaping numerous benefits.
_
In the present.
"It must be acknowledged that the night was fruitful," Akira chuckled happily as he reminisced about the rewards he obtained.
"Now that I have some free time, let's venture into that world," Akira murmured, imagining the door materializing before him.
Thanks to his title as Gate Master, Akira possessed the ability to summon the door anywhere, even though he hadn't attempted it in other worlds before.
"He actually came," Akira muttered upon seeing the door, approaching it, opening it, and stepping inside.
As Akira entered, the door closed by itself, vanishing into the fabric of space.
Upon entering, Akira found himself in the same wooden house he had witnessed when Tengu Yuya first opened the door.
Unconcerned with the house's emptiness, Akira proceeded towards the garden.
"The air is marvelous," Akira murmured, savoring the pure atmosphere devoid of the smoke and pollutants of modern times.
"What an intriguing magical barrier," Akira remarked, noticing the powerful shield encompassing the house.
[Ding! System communication attempt detected with a Soul Master.]
"Damn, aren't systems supposed to be rare?" Akira cursed under his breath, feeling as though systems were as abundant as vegetables.
[Ding! Activating IBN 5100 Protocol... Activated.]
[The unknown system has been destroyed, and the gem has been acquired.]
[The Unknown System Essence is being absorbed by the Fate Evil System.]
[Absorption in progress... 1%... 5%... 21%... 43%... 65%... 78%... 89%... 99%... Absorption successful.]
[The Leveling Up option has evolved. Master will now receive 20 Status Points per level.]
[You have acquired the skill {Evaluation (B)}]
[You have acquired the skill {Near-Instant Mastery (B)}]
"..." Akira was left speechless, witnessing all these developments.
[Ding! Master's level will not increase until Gilgamesh's mold is fully extracted.]
[Ding! The leveling option will temporarily switch to the template leveling option.]
"..." Akira stared at the notification in astonishment, rendered momentarily speechless.
After a while, Akira snapped out of his stupor, a wild smile forming on his face. "Very well."
With that, Akira left the house and headed towards the forest to hunt magical beasts, empowered by the new possibilities that awaited him.
