Kenji had been watching from a hole in the wall as he had continued to look on in disappointment as the life was draining from the face of Momo. 'It is a failure.'
His disappointment quickly turned to indifference as he continued to watch on without intervening in Emi ending the life of her own first born child.
It had been his influence once again that had made things turn out that way, Kenji had used hypnosis to make Emi continue to go to the room of Momo like usual but with a slight difference.
Emi had been ordered to kill Momo after a certain amount of time and the sole reason for doing so was to test if Momo had what it took to survive and if she possessed any special qualities.
If she lived through it and her abilities were able to be shown then Kenji would be very pleased with the result but if she failed then she would die at her mothers hands.
If she died then Kenji would not show any kind of regret since it was better for her to die if she did not possess the potential he was looking for.
He had a similar plan in mind for the youngest child when there was a more suitable time to do so.
Severe stress or intense emotions were usually the trigger for the Blood Dragon eyes or other special eyes so Kenji had manifested his own abilities when he was younger the same way.
It allowed him to gain an understanding towards how to properly use his abilities and how to bring out those abilities for those of his bloodline.
The twins and Chieko were able to naturally use their abilities or had awakened them very early so they did not to be guided in such a way since they had already shown excellent abilities and potential.
It was not the same for Momo and Tokito who had yet to show any kind of abilities that were related to their eyes.
He watched on as the dying struggles of Momo weakened and he became increasingly cold.
Her breathes became weaker and her body stopped struggling as if she was too weak to keep going.
Her eyes were slowly closing and her eyes had many tears dripping down from them which trailed down her cheek which wet the bed under her body.
Just as Kenji had given up on her completely and turned away his gaze, there was suddenly a noise from within the room which had sounded like a small thud which had followed another noise.
His gaze turned back towards the source of the noise and he was very surprised to witness the scene before his eyes. "Ha.. hahaha…ahahaha."
His laugh was full of madness but there was a slight hint of anger within it. "Haha.. she is dead.."
He had confirmed that there was a death inside of the room but it had not been the person that he had expected.
He ran inside and checked over Emi and Momo before confirming that there was still a weak breath coming from one of them.
There was a lot of blood that had spread out on the bed which had soaked their bodies and stained the bed beneath them.
The body of Emi was pushed off Momo and both of their appearances were shown to him.
The eyes of Momo were gone along with her life, the seal had activated upon it being no longer suppressed by the power of Kenji or triggered by something else.
All of the past attempts that the Hyuga Clan had tried to test if there were any rogue Hyuga in the area had suddenly burst forth after no longer being suppressed and claimed the life and eyes of Emi.
Emi had died and fell down onto the body of Momo which had caused Emi to be soaked in her mother's blood and be crushed by the weight of her dead body.
There was a hint of rage within the eyes of Kenji upon confirming that Emi had died but he quickly calmed himself. 'Damn.. this means that there are no more chances to have another child. It is not like I can just find another person so easily and there is the training of Gentle Fist too..
Never mind.. if she is dead then she is dead. She stopped having children five years ago even with several more attempts so she must have reached her limit. Now for the child.. still alive.. was this her doing or was it just a stroke of luck?'
He was certain that there should be no problems with the interference he had put in place to block the seal from activating but it was not completely foolproof.
There was always a chance that it could loosen one day even if he kept checking on it and maintaining it.
He did not know whether it had happened naturally or if it had been caused by Momo due to him looking away at the last moment and missing the most important part of it all.
Kenji never planned for the death of Emi and it was something that would have to be explained to his children and would be left to him to handle.
Even if he had no feelings for her, he had invested a lot of time and effort in order to keep and maintain her as she was.
She was the mother to his children and was an important teacher that could instruct them in the Gentle Fist so those two positions could not be so easily replaced.
After thinking everything over for some time, Kenji took one final look towards Momo before leaving the room to call for the servants to clean up the room and tend to Momo.
After he had left the room, a strange scene had taken place all of a sudden which could not so easily be caught by the naked eye.
The blood that had stained the face of Momo that had yet to dry had stopped dripping down onto the bed beneath her and tiny droplets that were difficult to spot had travelled up towards her two closed eyes before travelling between her eyelids and disappearing.
The marks left behind on her face where they had travelled made it look like Momo had been crying tears of blood while the rest of the blood marks had stained her skin.
Two days had passed ever since that day but Momo had not woke up and it looked a lot like she had suffered that great of a shock and trauma that she was not yet ready to wake up.
In another part of the household, the news had hit the other children hard and the youngest child had suddenly awakened his own eyes which had caused no big change to the colour but the pupils had changed to a rectangular shape.
Upon learning that his mother had died suddenly, his grief had brought out his potential which had been the catalyst for his growth.
Kenji had helped to build the right atmosphere and environment for it to happen which had allowed his youngest child to show that he was still worth keeping around and raising.
All that was left was to confirm if Momo was still the same as before or if she was just a failure.
The preparations for the funeral were being done as quickly and smoothly as possible but Momo had yet to awaken from her slumber.
