Awakening

A couple of days had passed since the incident and there was finally some movement within the the room of Momo.

Her body moved a little as she rolled over in her bed and her brows were knit until her eyes had slowly started to open.

Her eyes were slowly revealed as she looked around the room but there was little difference in them besides there being a slightly darker shade of pink around the edges of her Byakugan.

The change of her eyes was not that noticeable but it did make them look a little less pure white than before as the pink edges had blended into the white.

Momo was not aware of her change or she had done the day before due to her acting out of instinct in order to protect her own life when she was losing consciousness.

She was not aware of the strangeness of her eyes or what had happened after blood came near to her as her eyes had started to absorb her mothers blood.

Her hand reached towards her throat that was still quite sore and she showed a slightly pained and hurt look as she recalled how her mother had attacked and tried to kill her.

There was a brief recollection of a red blurred image but it had ended there so she was mostly stuck in her thoughts about how her mother had treated her. 'Why.. why would mother..'

Momo sat down and cried a little as she recalled what she could until there was some noise that came from outside.

The door was opened and a head poked inside which belonged to one of the Ryu family servants. "The young miss.. the young miss is awake!"

The servant ran back out to alert the others that needed to know and left Momo on her own.

A little time had passed until Kenji Ryu who was her father had come into the room and coldly looked down on her.

His purple eyes coldly stared towards her filled with indifference but also a mild amount of annoyance. "So you survived."

There was little room for Momo to respond before his purple eyes had changed to red and displayed the characteristics of the Blood Dragon Eye.

His red eyes locked onto the eyes of Momo as he spoke. "How did you survive?"

The hypnotic effects were released upon Momo all of a sudden which coerced her into answering her father like anytime before.

She should still be under his hypnosis so it required less careful questioning and manipulation to get an honest answer from her.

She still was under the hypnosis that controlled her feelings and loyalty towards Kenji so he did not doubt that she would not answer him even if he treated her coldly.

There was no strange thing out of place but Momo had desponded a little slower than before as she answered. "S..survive? I do not know.."

There was a lot of confusion in her voice as she tried to recall what had happened but she kept coming up with very little information to provide her father.

He did not feel anything strange about her response but he did find her answer a little slower than before.

He could not have guessed that if any awakening did happen then it may have helped her to resist his hypnosis and even if it did do so then there would still be some lingering aftereffects.

The previous influence, behaviours and feelings could not just disappear right away just because someone was no longer influenced by his hypnosis.

Feelings and behaviours that had been implanted from a very young age would been ingrained into Momo and anyone else that had been under his influence for a long time.

Some fake feelings that were implanted could have sprouted to become real feelings and the other habits may have become a part her everyday life.

Even without there being the possibility of hypnosis being in place, the loyalty was still there and so was a child's love that she had towards her family.

Kenji then asked. "Did you awaken your eyes? Do you feel any different?"

Momo shook her head. "I.. I do not know. I have just woken up so.."

Kenji displayed further annoyance then snorted. "Huh.. so useless. Recover quickly and get back to your studies and training. A new teacher for combat will arrive soon."

Momo looked a little confused. "Where is mother?"

Kenji stepped out of the room and left some final words before closing the door behind him. "She is dead. You killed her."

Momo heard his words and was left shocked so once she had finally come to register what he had said, she had broken down again and started to cry by herself. "Uwu..mom..mom.. uwaaa."

A child would find if difficult to accept that their most loved family had passed away but it was even crueler for her father to tell her that she had been the cause of it.

Momo had difficulty accepting it even after crying and going over it many times in her mind so once she had the energy to do so, she went down the halls towards her mother's room.

A figure blocked her path which was two of her siblings who both looked towards her with very cold eyes.

Ichigo and Haruma were both standing in front of her and blocked her path, Ichigo was the first to glare towards her and spoke with a voice full of resentment. "You killed her. How dare you come here."

Momo lowered her head. "I.. I just want to visit her room.. is.. is it really true?"

Haruma coldly looked towards her and scolded. "Of course it is true. I do not know how you can still stand here and ask such things. Stay away from mother's room. Her murderer is not welcome to enter her room."

Momo lowered her head further as she became more upset and was about to turn around to go back to her room when two hands grabbed onto her shoulders fdom behind.

Haruma and Ichigo both coldly spoke as they dragged her away from her current position while they had looked around their surroundings cautiously. "Where do you think you are going?"

The pure purple eyes belonging to both of them had revealed the pupil a little as the veins near their eyes had popped up which showed that they were making use of their abilities to survey their surroundings.
