Chapter 14

I was starving, like, real starving.

I needed to find something to eat fast. I was not thirsty though. If I went out in the wild in this dark night I know I will not be able to make it till dawn so I just stayed in my hut watching stars and feeling pain in my bleeding leg.

Hope my leg will get better tomorrow, at least I will be able to walk.

I lied back on my back and smelled the nature into my nose. I really do not know if I am going to sleep at all but, I will try.

I closed up my eyes and soon fell asleep in a deep dream.

I dreamed of myself being chased by a big bear alongside a water stream, but suddenly I fell off, the bear roared high and hit my head crushing it into pieces with me waking up in a scream.

It was a nightmare, sadly I know who lived it true.

I am really grateful that poor Smith had a good life before he died.

My leg stopped bleeding, I slowly and carefully untied the tie around my leg because I can not walk with it around my leg.

It hurt, but I am happy that I will at least walk even if it’s like a disabled fellow.

I was starving, it was still night. I think it is dawn, so the sun will rise soon I am sure.

I crawled out of my hut carefully and slowly, slowly approached the end of the bed and looked right, I saw the great waterfall that I fell off yesterday.

I was really lucky though, if my head had hit a rock while falling down I would not have lived to tell you this.

I heard a gunshot on top of the waterfall with birds fleeing in the sky afraid.

“Hey!!, Hey!!”

“Down here!!, Help!”

“Down Hear”

I cold see a light source approaching slowly

“Yeas! Yeah, Down hear”

(Gunshot)

“Did you hear anything?” a voice from on top of the waterfall.

“wait.” another voice

I could see two gentlemen on horses on top, but they were too far away to see me, either hear me or walk away.

“Watch out!!” German voice

(Bear Roars)

(Gunshots)

“it was the bear you idiot, run!” voice on top the waterfall.

“No! NO! Come back here!!, down here!!” I shouted.

But before I knew it , a big black bear jumped out on them scaring them away, it was that moment that I knew that if I shouted enough, I would get attention, but it was the bear’s attention.

I sat down on the ground.

(Crying while hitting the ground)

“I’m never getting out of here”

I knew I had to move, but the cliff up to the waterfall was steep yet also dangerous.

Before I knew it, I fainted down on my back unconscious and tired.

I opened my eyes wiggling around in a horse cart with a beautiful young lady sitting beside me.

I was in a wheat field, a road in the middle of the field with forests alongside the fields.

“He is awake Father!” She said.

“Oh he is!” an old gentleman replied.

“Hello Mr, Me and my daughter found you lost in the forest beside the river, if I had not carry you with me you would have been eaten by bears” He said.

“Ah, thank you sir” I replied to him.

“Ahh!” I said to her, she tried to touch my leg wound but it hurt so bad.

“Don’t worry, it will make you feel better” she said.

“We are not that far away from the village Mr” He said.

“Trevor, it’s Trevor” I said to him.

“Well Mr Trevor, I’m glad you’re fine at last, my daughter Lea will take care of your wound. She is really good at medicine.” He said.

My vision was still blurry, so I could not see much but her voice was so beautiful. I think she is too.

I tried to sit and lie my back on the side of the cart. She helped me sit and lie my back.

We were in a place I have never been before, a beautiful piece of land, open fields and trees with birds singing.

Soon we reached the gates of some place new to me it was a small town, but I have never seen it before.

“Where are we?” I asked her.

“it’s Saint Denis, haven’t you been here before?” she asked

“No I have not” I replied.

The gates were a bit old though with Saint Denis written on top of them on a sign.

There were two watch towers but there was nobody in them.

Soon we advanced a little, the houses were old, seemed like a town but the people who lived there were not super rich to consider a garden and two floor houses.

The lights in the town were old, rusty poles with bulbs on top of them.

Kids walking in the streets, old people too, they seemed to be farmers.

Same look f the people who were working back there in the fields.

I was surprised, a town this small and this easy to rob has no soldiers protecting its gates and people.

The old man slowed down, I think we finally arrived to his house. A young gentleman who seemed to be his son approached and took hold of the leash of the horses and walked towards the gates of a barn.

“Father, the army came here yesterday just after you left and collected the soldiers on the gates of the town” he said to the old man.

“Oh god, I hope a war isn’t about to go off” the old man replied.

“James my son, me and your sister found this young man stranded in the forest this dawn, please take him home, he is our guest, treat him well.

Lea, company your brother and take Mr Trevor home and make him stay in the spare room.” he said to them.

“Yes, Father” She replied.
