Survive... Part -1

"Veru…"

She rubbed her eyes as she turned around, looking for the person whose name she kept thinking in her mind, but despite looking everywhere, she couldn't find the boy. Instead, she found two familiar faces next to hers; a white-haired girl with beads of sparkling sand riddling them and a boy whom her eyes looked at with disgust.

"You are awake!" Hina exclaimed, looking at her red eyes with caution.

Hose, who was behind Hina, clicked his tongue in annoyance.

"Sanim, listen carefully…" Hina moved her faded red lips, but Sanim stopped her and asked with eyes willed with resentment and obsession, or rather fear. "Where is Veru?"

Hina shut her lips tight; she didn't know where the boy in question was; she had no idea of his whereabouts; she didn't even know about the imminent danger towards which he was marching with his light spirit.

Sanim noticed the helpless blue eyes; her expressions crumbled. "What happened to Veru?" she asked.

Hina replied with a guilt-ridden expression. "We don't know where he is," she looked at the bright sky and continued, "but we can find him together."

Sanim's face turned grim, and she let out a frown.

She looked at her with her expressionless red eyes as she let out the words she had been holding ever since she met the white-haired girl.

"Stop acting…"

She stood up and turned her back. "Stop acting all mighty! Just leave Veru and Sanim alone."

With no more words, she marched towards the unknown, far away from the two. "I can find my Veru alone, and I am warning you that if I ever found your shadow near Veru, I would kill you and even Veru won't be able to stop me."

And just like that, Sanim ventured towards the inland, leaving the couple behind in a daze.

"Save me…"

Tides swallowed the entire area.

"Help me… Please…"

Thime looked at the unfolding scenario with bewilderment as he couldn't apprehend it.

"I… don't want to… die…"

All he could understand that it was hell itself.

Countless dismembered body parts lying waste all-around with a fresh stream of blood rushing out of it, loud screeches covered the entire area as demon-like beasts roamed the area.

The calm scenery unfolded into the hellish scene in front of his own eyes.

Hideous beasts came out of the pond which once was transparent blue, but now was soaked in blood and massacred everyone as if they were their playthings. The beasts spared only a couple of people as if they ignored their existence.

"Grrr…"

The beast let out a loud cry as grabbed a man with his gigantic hands and ripped him apart in two. The man couldn't even let out a cry as it ripped apart his torso.

They had a grotesque and hideous face from which molten asphalt like remnants continued to fall and burn the ground.

Thump…

The thick stench of blood made the air heavy; hearing their cries Thime looked at Freeman who despite how the scene was unfolding wasn't fazed. "What... are you?"

His voice broke as his gut warned him; it kept shouting the man standing in front of him was no normal human.

Freeman looked at him and gave a stony face. "Me? I am just a nobody. I have no existence of myself."

A chill went down his spine as Thime saw the smile and thought. 'He doesn't care…'

Freeman had no expression, neither he enjoyed the massacre, nor he pitied them. He stood still looking at the dismembered bodies; everyone died except a handful.

He swayed his hands and the beasts that spanned over two meters once again went inside the pool and it turned back to transparent blue.

Rustle…

The trees shook violently as their branches extended and picked up the hacked parts; and what followed next threw them in despair. The dismembered parts assimilated itself with the tree.

Branches clashed, each fighting for its food and barred against one another, and soon the field looked anew as if the horrifying scene never took place.

The tree once again fluttered their golden leaves, and the sparkling fruits distorted the light. But the trees that looked appetizing now looked as if they looked upon them as food and smacking their nonexistent lips.

Thime looked at the red fruits he was holding in his hands as if they were gemstones with an expression hard to describe; disgust filled his eyes, yet pity riddled his gaze.

Freeman patted his shoulder. "They are not what you think them to be…"

With a broken voice, he asked the white-haired man in a crying tone. "Just why?"

"..."

Freeman didn't reply for a while as he stared at the strings of ray that came penetrating the canopy which wasn't thick but blocked enough sunlight.

"I, too, sometimes wonder just how long have I been doing this… I ..." Freeman replied in an inaudible voice and his body faded into white mist. "Survive…"

So, here it is...
