The sound and sight of rubble falling around him did nothing in detering Markus from trying to claim what he came for at all, if anything it only made him more committed to get his prize as fast as possible before everything collapses.

Markus uttered emotionlessly as he dodged a wooden beam that nearly fell on his head.
The room was the biggest in space in the tower that Markus had seen within the tower, the floor was plain marble and dirty unlike the sterilized environment of the rest of the tower. The surface of the floor reflected a few chandeliers lit with ethereal blue fire hanging above but all of these items were merely the background, compared to the hundreds of tall shelves lining across the halls. Some of the chandeliers had fallen due to Dorian's attacks and crashed onto the bookshelves.
