Ackrow :" Arg?(slowly opened his black eyes) where am I ? Hmm? (Seems Chris who was looking at him while doing push ups) you are the guy who helped me right (looks at his injured wing and body ?"

Chris replied while doing push ups

" Yeah and remember you are gonna be my pet now ,so don't try to fly off get it? "

The injured shadow crow raised a brow and replied with a dry voice while raising it left feet

" You tied me up ,how can I run even if I want to? "

"Hmmm( finishes his push ups and stood up ) shadow dive? Can't you just dive into the shade? "

Ackrow :" No ,not in the state I'm in atleast "

" Oh don't worry about that, from my estimate you'll heal enough to fly in a month "

Ackrow :" ... Excuse me but what are you ? You look like a human but feel like something else ? Hmm are you one of those spirits ? "

" You seen more of my kind around?? "

Excitement could be seen in Chris's eyes

Ackrow however used his good wing to scratch it's head as it replied with much empathy

" Sorry no , I heard about your kind from my grandma, and about me running away as long as you feed me I won't, despite how I look I keep my promises "

" Oh!( His excitement died down but still ,he forced a smile hearing the shadow crow's sincerity ){ Well atleast I know that spirits are still here and around ,just rarely seen } well thanks for telling meanyway, and by the way since we'll be together from now on ,what's your name and why were you hurt ?"

The shadow crow looked at the spirit's eyes and replied with a sour mood

" I don't have a name and...Errr I got hungry so I took a bread from a human shop but a crazy human female threw a knife at me with insane accuracy, I would've died had I not used shadow dive "

Chris hearing the crow's words smiled wryly

"{ Yup that's Mrs Manson alright } Well deserved I'll say "

" Oii "(ticked off)

" From now on you'll be my pet crow , I'll give you the name Ackrow of the shadows "

" Eeh? Ackrow??? "

The shadow crow looked surprised hearing the name the excited spirit came up with

" Why Ackrow though? "

" It means ' Invisible Burglar ' in old Avelierian ,this kingdom's old language { I often heard it from the stories told to me by my father } "

And it seems the meaning behind the name managed to please the shadow crow from some reason

" I see them ... "

Chris could swear that the bird just smiled even though it had a break not a mouth but he didn't say anything

" Then from now on, I will be called Acrkrow of the shadow as you said mister? "

" I'm called Chris , and you can call me Sir "

" (Frowned) Sir? Okay then what will you call me? "

" Ackrow "(said Chris naturally)

The discussion about this continued for the next 10 minutes before the new shadow crow finally surrendered to his new master's terms of names

Right now after awakening on the second day of his training with his instructor Merwin, Chris is currently in combat training

Aiming her staff at Chris Merwin started to rapidly fire a barrage of fireballs at Chris ,as insane as this sounds Merwin is carefully adjusting the spell's powerful so that it would only leave broken bones and 2nd degree burns to normal mages at most

" ISN'T THIS OVER KILL??? "

He shouted while running for his life with his enhanced stamina while carrying a wooden sword, running to the sides , leaping and rolling on the grounds he was currently practicing basic enhancement magic as instructed by Merwin

Merwin :" As I said before focus ,you may have succeeded in basic enhancement but it's rough and weak, and don't just dodge ,try to slice and block the fire balls "

The mage adviced while rapid firing her spell

" Arrg "( rolled over lep back up but failed to dodge two balls of concentrated flame ) " With this??? (Raised his wooden sword in displeasure amidst the rain of fire) "

Merwin :" Enhance it with magic, it should do wonders for you especially since you have metal attribute , Fireball !"

Blown back a few steps ,Chris took few breaths before he regained his balance as soon as he stopped but his cold friend did not even give him time to catch his breath and coldly chant

" Fireball "

" Arrg "

Amidst the chaos of Chris dodging and tanking some hits while enhancing himself roughly , Merwin's advice sounded rather tough for Chris, he was barely able to maintain the enhancement energy over his body and right now if he were to direct his focus on offence, he was sure that it would lessen his defence by a large margin and Merwin , she didn't show but she was impressed, very impressed at the sight she was witnessing right now

{ This is a bit infuriating }

(Aims her staff)

" Fire ball ! "

{ I literally gave him a few instructions on mana management for strength & Stamina enhancement but -}

Chris :" (feeling rugged but not too rugged) Huu huu huu okay then { I can do this x4}"(sped up )

"Tch "{- he is already using basic full stat enhancement even though it's rough and weak all his physical stats, perception, strength, agility , vitality and dexterity are all boosted,and his defence } "(concentrated) FIREBALL!"

A loud explosion echoed through the forest ,Merwin who concentrated a larger fireball to test her doubts on Chris's enhancement spell fired a larger and more powerful fireball that caught the helpless spirit off-guard

" { OH SHI- } ! "

Caught off guard Chris under his stat enhancement managed to raise his wooden sword for an attack after steeling his resolve ,the wooden sword which was enhanced by steel magic power hardened and was envelope in silver coloured mana

Tsssh

" HAAH! "

Raising the wooden sword Chris focused on his sword's enhancement and slashed down at the incoming fireball the size of an adult man ,but on contact,much Chris's horror his attempt to cut the fire ball ended up with his wooden sword incinerated and him on the ground black and charred

" Aah "{ It burns, it hurts but }(got back up )" Ow { it isn't too bad }"

Chris then turned back to Merwin who was looking at him with a slight frown ,for some reason,she looked like she wanted to pull Chris by the ear and stomp on his face right now

Chris :" (patted the dust off of himself and approached Merwin with a dissatisfied look) My clothes though ".

Merwin :" I'll pay, and you .."

Chris :" (put his hands on his waist) Yeah? "

Merwin :" { He really is a spirit } You are one monstrous guy, you really tanked a full charged fireball you know ?"

Chris dropped his jaws before shaking his head

" Wait wait wait, why did you fire a fully charged fireball at me in the first place? Aren't metal magic weak to fire magic ? "

The mage casually replied

" Relax it was only a lower D rank spell and besides,you aren't human but a spirit so your magic is naturally stronger because of your affinity right? "

Chris couldn't refute but was still a bit displeasured at the fact that Merwin fired a spell that could easily kill the previous him

" That doesn't make it better "

" Well then I...Imm....{Sighs} I'm sorry "

She looked very reluctant when she apologized

Walking back to the house on the route, Chris began asking about how he would compare to the average man

" So about my progress in terms of normal mages how am I doing? "

Merwin gave him a long looked and answered

" Don't get conceited,you are doing very well Chris "

" Really? "

" It took me 1 week of hard work to awaken,and it also took me about a month to learn basic enhancement but as you know you awakened in a day and LEARNED basic enhancement on the next and tomorrow you will also probably learn what I teach you next "

An awkward silence firmed for a moment, because right now Chris felt rather bad about this for some reason, he felt rather guilty of how fast he's progressing but didn't dwell on it for long as he broke the silence in the next minute while looking at Merwin

" I will keep doing my best "

Merwin :(pouted)" I know "(walked ahead)

"Hmh hmh(giggled) "

10 minutes later at Chris's house

Chris : " Hey Ackrow how was your day? "

" Aaak aak "

Chris : " Hot? Well I suppose it would be hot since the house only has one window,and this right here is my comrade Merwin the mages "

" Aaak aak aak "

"(Dryly responded )She's not my mate "

Merwin:"(screamed )WTF are you talking about??? { Does he even talk with animals now??? }
