After visiting Marjorie Mead, they went home. The other two girls would go for the next day.
"Tell me, what did you think?" Harry asked, anxiously.
"I prefer to visit the other two before I can say anything." Benjamin said. "Where's mother?"
They were having dinner and Judith was not sitting on the table.
"She is not very interested in coming down here. I think it is better to leave her on her own, for now." Harry said and started to eat.
Benjamin looked at his father. He could not believe how cold the old man turned out to be. After Benjamin finished eating, he went to take a look at his mother. He knocked on her door and she took a while to answer. He waited. He knew she was still sad about what happened between her and his father.
"Oh, Ben…" she said. Benjamin noticed two things: she cried for a while, for her eyes were puff. And the other thing was that she was really, really fragile. She called him 'Ben'.
"May I enter, mother?" he asked and she nodded.
