Laboratory 2

I State at her for quite a moment before I'm able to answer. I didn't even know that there are more than one laboratory. But it probably just makes sense. There is no way they could investigate on those hounded if Coras in just this one single lab. I've heard that there are more than one professors here, so maybe this professor isn't as disgusting as the one who gave me my name.

"What are you staring at? C'mon let's go inside. If you're lucky my girlfriend is also at home. I'll ask my mom to look at your injuries."

Did she say home? Who the hell would say home to a laboratory?

"They are almost healed. I don't need a treatment."

She rolls her eyes and grabs my arm to pull me inside of the laboratory. I want to pull my arm away but she is surprisingly strong and much stronger than I am.

As we walked through the hallway of the lab we come across a tall girl with blonde hair and blueish green eyes. As she sees Mei she almost jumps her over.

"MeiMei!!"

Mei hugs her back and smiles in the most honest way I've seen her smile so far. I assume that this girl must be her girlfriend.

"Niraaa!! I missed you so much how is mom doing? Do you know where she is?"

She lets go of the hug and looks her in the eyes. Everyone who would watch them both would never assume that those two aren't in love. You can clearly see the intensity of the way they speak and behave with each other. Other people might call it "Cute" or "Sweet".

"Who is that little friend of yours?"

Mei's girlfriend points a finger at me but I don't respond to her, because she didn't ask this question directly to me.

"Oh it's the boy we talked about. You remember? Jinsei? The boy?"

"Oooooh yeaa him-"

Why does she look at me as if she is judging me?? Why do I always feel like I'm doing something wrong, oh my god.

I hear them whispering something, but I can't exactly hear what they are talking about. Probably something about me, because I heard my name once or twice in their conversation.

"Yo, boy. Come with me, I'll bring you to my mother."

Mei starts to drag me against through the floors of the lab. The girl from just a few seconds ago waves her as she leaves, but as Mei stops looking she gives me a Death glare. Is she alright or something?

"What's with your mother? Is she a medic?"

"She is actually the professor of this lab. She isn't a Cora herself, but she says she wants to help Coras to understand themselves more. That's why I love her so much… She wants to help us, Jinsei. I bet she will love you."

She smiles brightly as if she is expecting me to react the exact same way

"I bet he will love you" is also the same thing they said before I met the professor. I know that Mei just wants to be nice, but maybe I'm running directly into a trap. I'm afraid of people who seem to be truly "nice" I'm actually so afraid that I almost feel like throwing up. I don't want to be here anymore.

"When are you going to tell me what you meant with Shin is in danger? I only came here for this information. Nothing more."

"I'll explain it to you when you meet my mom. She can protect you from the professor, if you ask her to. She despises the methods of the professor and knows everything you had to go through. She wants to help."

I don't respond to her as I realize that arguing about that is pointless anyway.

We walk for about 5 minutes through a hallway and end up infront of a white door. Mei knocks exactly 3 times and a tall women with really long hair opens. As she sees me she smiles and hugs me.

"I'm so glad that you came, my dear. Come inside my, children. I made tea for both of you."

Mei pushes me inside and closes the door behind us. In the middle of a room is a table with tea on it. I sit down on an empty seat, but I don't even dare to touch the tea. Who knows what she could have put in it.

"I came here to ask about what Mei meant with 'Shin is in danger'. Can someone answer me that now?"

The tall women smiles kindly and gives me a cookie to my tea.

"You're so impatient my dear. So let's go on? Let's talk about Shin then."
