End of the battle

Scathach struck down with her spear while Ruphas locked down Regal with her aura and chains made out of magic.

Regal created a solid mana barrier as defense while blasting a concentrated beam of destruction wave at Ruphas, who instantly dropped her lock and backed off. Regal swapped the beam at Scathach, who took it head-on with her spear.

Scathach's spear started to disintegrate, but another one formed in her other hand. Seeing this, Regal backed off first.

Regal took a deep breath as he stared down Ruphas and Scathach. Their breathing was a little quicker, the exhaustion catching up now.

They had been fighting for hours, and with Regal's unique fighting style and soul ring, things weren't looking so good on Ruphas and Scathach's side—especially Scathach, who was Regal's target of vitality drain. Ruphas also got a taste of his vitality drain, but it was negligible compared to how many times Scathach was his target. But that didn't mean Ruphas was free. Regal used his Temporal Rift and Void Annihilation on her constantly, making her condition worse than Scathach's.

As for Regal... he was in the worst condition, to say the least. His mana pool was half down, and even with his Arcane Convergence, it wasn't helping. Not to mention his upper neck and head, which were not covered by his armor, were Scathach's only target. Ruphas acted as support, but if she got a chance to land a hit, then it would be more harmful than Scathach's attack. Ruphas didn't hold her power back in her attack, not even one bit.

Regal took a deep breath as he pulled in the ambient energy freely to him, his Arcane Convergence not stopping to shine even for a second. "This battle has been going on for long enough," Regal stated.

Scathach looked at Ruphas, who in turn looked at her, both agreeing to Regal's words. They wanted to drag out the battle, but Regal's change of style made it more burdensome on them.

Regal ruffled his hair as he rested a bit while waiting for either Ruphas or Scathach's agreement, and he didn't have to wait long. "Let's do it," Ruphas agreed, and Scathach nodded.

Regal smiled, seeing this. Inside, he felt something was off. His 8th soul ring, Void Annihilation, appeared in front of him, followed by his 3rd, Elemental Nova. The 8th ring glowed as a portal opened up and overlapped with his 3rd, feeding it the destruction energy. The 3rd ring glowed as a massive amount of energy started to form on it. His 7th ring, Arcane Convergence, also fed the ambient energy to the 3rd ring while the 6th glowed and stabilized the flow around while also guarding against Ruphas and Scathach.

But the two were unperturbed, only watching without preparing. Regal had a bad feeling, but he still proceeded with his attack prep. He purposefully slowed down as well, observing Ruphas and Scathach, but neither showed any reaction.

A black ball of pure destruction energy formed with a layer of mana gathered from the surroundings and from Regal himself.

Regal's soul ring disappeared, leaving only one ring, his 3rd, which held a ball of destruction that was ready to burst. But then—

"Collapse," Scathach and Ruphas commanded at the same time, and the game board sank in on itself, right on Regal, who became speechless.

Regal immediately fired his attack, making the black ball burst in every direction while his 8th ring activated and covered him in the portal that faced out, taking the brunt of whatever was about to hit him.

The game board compressed towards Regal, the pure destruction energy blasting at it, slowing its speed and disintegrating it, but it wasn't nearly enough. The game board collapsed onto itself with Regal as its center.

BBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOMM!!!!!

A deafening explosion rang out as the sky crackled, the space ripped and crumbled. At the very center, a mass spread of destruction energy clashed with a transparent barrier that compressed around the destruction energy, seemingly trying to crush everything down.

The whole sky cracked and ripped, and a vortex formed out of destruction energy around the game board, but the next second, that vortex collapsed, adding to the already chaotic mess that was the center of this whole event.

Scathach's spear glowed, and a deathly aura covered the tip that slowly crept up into the whole of her spear's Causality Reversal activated.

Ruphas's wing extended out, with the sky behind her turning black like her wing. Her eyes crazed but also sane. A condensed marble-sized ball formed in her hand that glowed like a star, but it was contained in her hand.

The sky began to rip more, and another vortex formed that tried to swallow up the compressing game board, which it did, and started to tear up the game board.

Scathach took her stance and hurled her spear at the vortex. The spear instantly reached the vortex and plunged inside, completely ignoring the game board and going inside.

CCRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!

An intense sound of grinding came, making sparks that lit up the vortex of destruction energy.

Ruphas tossed the marble-sized star into the vortex, and a blinding light burst out of it, engulfing everything.

A deathly silence fell, followed by a soundless explosion that raged out.

The sound of cracking broke the silence as the blinding light and explosion disappeared, leaving nothing behind. The torn sky was revealed, and the center of all this was no longer there. Ruphas frowned as she felt the oddness of the situation at hand, while Scathach sighed.

"We lost..." Scathach announced, and that very monster Regal appeared behind them. Ruphas widened her eyes as she tried to piece together the situation, but she didn't have to. "His destruction portal took the brunt. I felt my spear get disintegrated... we underestimated his soul ring, and..." Scathach paused as she felt Regal's power radiate off him. "He is level 9 now," she announced.

Ruphas could also tell this, but the confirmation was still a blow. Neither of them had much fight left now. Both had expended everything they had and were almost powerless.

"I could have leveled to 9 at any moment, even before the fight. Merging my status was a mistake on your part. I might have lost if my status wasn't merged," Regal plainly stated.

"Nothing we can do about that," Scathach shrugged. "Now will you end the battle?" she casually asked, as this was a death match.

"The battle has already ended. Why should I take an extra step to kill you two? This game isn't overseen by the Little Garden, so the rule can't be enforced, and even if it was, I don't care... This gift game was held by Azu and not the Little Garden," Regal annoyedly stated and left.

"Let's rest up... my exhaustion is catching up... Sigh, getting killed and resurrected would have been a lot easier on us," Ruphas complained as she descended to Little Garden. Scathach followed, not really satisfied with the ending of this whole event.

The battle ended rather blandly...
