Chapter 3: Choice Made
Looking at the choices given by '???' I don't know which to pick.

An otherworlder like you is an anomaly and special at the same time, this is a first for me so I thought that I might as well help you out a bit even though you know about the future because of the 'game'. After all special people deserve special privileges so I will offer you some choices from which you can only pick one.
- System (can aid you in becoming stronger)
- Future distortion (can edit or change an event that will take place in the future)

- Devour (can let you obtain the talents of the devoured, the race of the devoured
and a portion of power from the devoured) Uses: 1
- A talent of your liking (has to be approved by me) Uses: 1
- Inheritance of a minimum Demi-God level being (Saint rank) but would have to
complete a wish in return from the person you are inheriting from. Uses:
Hmm, let's use the process of elimination to decide. So first of all is the system, there are all types of systems out there in novels which I have seen and they all end up making the protagonist powerful in one way or another. BUT I don't need it, systems are boring as hell, a bit too cliche. Almost every single person who transmigrates, reincarnates or even regresses has a damn system and I don't want quests telling me what to do. Not only that but I already know everything important or useful I need to know about this world so I can take advantage of that and become powerful without a system.
Next is future distortion, this is probably the most pointless one as the future isn't set in stone and because of whatever decisions or actions I make there will be a 'butterfly effect' as I am an anomaly not the original Lazarus . I mean I'm definitely not going to live exactly like the original Lazarus so there will evidently be changes to the story. Well not all events will be different and some will definitely take place but I can interfere to make changes without using this 'Future Distortion' but instead with my own power. So scratch that option.
Now the third option 'Devour' which is the most intriguing there. If anything it looks like the best choice as there are races superior to humans which will give me a big advantage in journey to grow stronger. There are also some powerful talents which I would like and can't get as I am Lazarus. Moreover I can already think of who to use this power on. I can't help but feel exhilarated at the thought of using it on 'him', 'his' talents can make it much easier for me to grow strong or stronger than I would originally project myself to become.
The fourth option is a talent of my liking, this would be my ideal choice but this mysterious person might not accept the talents I have in mind as they would be too good. I doubt I'd get to refund my choice if the talent I want is rejected so there is no point.
Finally the last option is definitely a no go for me. I can reach the Demi-God level without the inheritance and I don't even get to decide which powerhouse's inheritance I get to take. And that wish or request I have to fulfill in return sounds bothersome. But the inheritance can be from someone above Demi-God however I'm sure I will do fine without it.
Now looking at the only favourable option I can't help but unknowingly have a wide creepy grin on my face. I decide to choose the third option which is 'Devour' as my choice resulting in a slight change to my status.

Cecilia's question instantly made me realise the grin on my face which was wiped out for good. Hopefully my dear family don't think that I have any mental problems because of it otherwise my bright future might become a teeny tiny bit annoying.
