Chapter 2: Can't be said

James was lost to his memories when his waited waiter came to him. He makes him to come back to reality by saying, Sir! Sir! your order please? Sir! Sir!

Susanna came to rescue him from his awkwardness. She joined James on his table. Ordered special dinner for him and her on her own account.

When James came back from his day dreaming, she is facing infront of him. James get nervous by her interest on him in this last day of year. He always loves to know women from far away the land if it can be possible then from another country or galaxy.

Susanna looking lavishingly gorgeous to him. Carefully dressed up for this new year party, alone, like every year but tonight it's different, she is with him. For some reason, she is attracting to him, he is feeling different by her boldness. Taking charge of him.

James just watching her with soft eyes with gratitude. She said first, why are you still all alone with your dog? no companion, on this new year party?

Party is enjoyable when you have a companion to share with, why on earth a man like you enjoying new year party alone? Should I help with this?

James just gets curious to her interest, feeling good of course, he never gets the guts to talk with a woman especially, when she looking beautiful. And he has an interest on her since he knew her.

It took few years that she finally came to him with inquisitive eyes which was splendid indeed. Big beautiful eyes with red wine lips.

Her hair is uplifted beautifully, stunning simple dark reddish black gown with high heels, no jewellery just a jewelled small flower shaped hairpin on the side of her braided hair updo.

James loving her companionship for the new year's eve. He could not imagine that she will be interested on him. She is very charming lady not like he knew.

Can't tell what was th reason but for the very first time of his life, he wants to still the moment, who knows what will happen later.

She is very curious about his singleton life. It is pleasurable to see a lady like her to be found on a man like him who normally get ignored by anyone because he is a very boring person. Boredom is embedded in his soul. Never had to impress any ladies before more than his teachers.

He is a scientist working on humanoid robots. Trying to give them a life without feeling a God.

But for now, Susanna is enough. Thinking about hanging out with her if she thinks him a deserving person of her valuable aquentance.

However, Kei started to sing there in the hall, entertaining everyone, her new year songs helping others to celebrate their parties like a dream came true with their loved ones.

James and Susanna loving her songs with their dinner. When the dinner is almost finished, James asks Susanna, are you busy the rest of the night, then drank the last drop of his champagne which was ordered by her for that night.

She seems pleased by his offer and says, yes, I am, do you have anything on your mind?

As blank as his mind is now, he actually never dreamt of her acceptance of his proposal, actually, he hasn't planned anything particular.

Just thought of hanging out with her would be a nice idea but the way she accepted his proposal, he felt a chilling cold excitement on his spine. He pour another glass of drink and started to gulping down like he is in great thirst of liquor.

She is smiling silently and to hide her smile she is looking back on her where the party is going on.

James didn't see it but he is nervous alright. He could always reverse other's wishes but not his as he understood.

With his hesitant approach, he called her name as quietly as he could, Su..susanna? he faltered for a while but she didn't listened because of all the sounds coming from the hall.

Then he hold up his all confidence, and touched her naked shoulder lightly, immediately, she turns to him with smiling face.

Yes, still smiling. Susanna then helps him to break his nervousness, let's join the party, everyone is enjoying it.

Seldom as it may but it seemed like centuries ago when someone asked James to join a party. He can't dance nor he can sing or have any ideas how to entertain a lady or any girl.

She reminded him about his high school graduation party, a girl for some unknown reason, really wanted that day to dance with him in that party but he ahem, ahem, was something else then, shinning star, was really brilliant among the rest, freshly gained scholarship that fully paid and supported. Probably, that's why she asked, who knows.

He still can remember her big dark eyes looking mysterious and luscious at the same time with sleeveless black short dress and glossy vibrant mandarin coloured lipstick. He can't forget those beautiful eyes of hers, wore some kind of ancient Egyptian eye cosmetic, which was traditionally made by grinding stibnite (Sb2S3), Lampblack, Kohl, Collyrium. Kohl in English and Kajol in India as it's known, yeah, read those things too about the cosmetics substances, knows one or two things about makeup.

However, it's not the case here to say no to her actually he could not dance or even do what everyone is doing, in clean tone can't copy dance, completely ridiculous but it's the truth.

And, she was the other way around, waited for a minute to ask then took another guy's hand for the dance.

It last for a minute but yeah, that's the truth, only girl who asked him for a dance was her that unknown cheerful girl and now Susanna. He didn't get the chance to know her name either. She came, she asked then whoosh, she was gone with another guy.

In between those years, it would be a great lie if he say that he didn't met any girl but she was something to remember and besides that he love women in makeup specially with eye cosmetics. It looks beautiful but Susanna didn't do anything like her but still looking very elegant.

Susanna and James are standing in the corner of a wonderful big terrace. This terrace attached to the restaurant's hall room.

Both of them can enjoy less of any kind of youthful parties, lost their interest probably or depending on their moods who knows or care the less but they are there in the corner taking lungs full of breath silently.

At their best surprise, a cat jumps onto the Susanna in the dark, out of nowhere, it came from the roof of the restaurant, probably one of the guest's pet, ran away from their playground.

Susanna got so much frightened by the incident that she forgot for a second who she is and managed to land directly over the James.

James got nervous but didn't showed her his sudden shock. He carefully took her from his lap and help her to manage her ladyship.

Nothing happened really, like a romance novel, both are nump in this sort of cases as it seemed.

James then broke the silence to make it easier for Susanna, why it is here? From where?

Susanna then confesses, probably one of my guest's, let me check on it.

She went to her one of the restaurant boy and asks to check on it.

Susanna completely embarrassed by the incident. She is in her apologetic voice asks James, can I offer you anything for the rest of the night.

James says yes, you can, your acquaintance. He surprised himself after saying it, then shyly add, never mind it's completely ridiculous idea.

Susanna smiles at his shyness.
