1 Chapter 1: Unwanted skill
What is the purpose of my life? What can I do actually? asking to his dog pompom.
Pompom licked his master's neck and face for a while as if she is showing her abundant sympathy for him.
She understands her master's frustration and depression but what can she do as a faithful obedient domestic pet of her only master.
Pompom still can remember the day when she was laying on the beach in her empty stomach, all alone, wet with smelly mud bath, half fainted and half awake then her angel sent from heaven for her. It was none other than her master.
He took her in his loving arms, washed her with perfumed soap, dry her with his own towel then gave her food from his own plate of steak. Then when she very first time tasted a slight piece of heaven only because of her beloved master.
From that day to now, she could not think any replacement of her master with any other human or a male dog in her life. Only him, is her ruler and concur of her world.
James Hook is a student of science. He loves to experiment, explore and study about anything that gets his attention.
Usually, he is very much feeling bored about the whole thing. Nothing new to be found. All the old theories with new ways of showing it.
As a lover of science, it seems pathetic to him.
James knocking his empty head infront of his pompom. Here and there, there and here, nothing seems to work. After a while of banging and knocking his head, he decided to go to sleep with his pompom on his side.
Kei Ahmya is a local singer in a restaurant of her family where she was singing from her childhood. She knows James. A self-centered guy, always busy with himself, no friends or girlfriends only he and his pompom.
Pompom is not her breed, it's her name.
She is Papillon, which also called the Continental Toy Spaniel, is a breed of dog. Her name of the breed came from its characteristic butterfly-like look of the long and fringed hair on the ears.
This kind of dogs are known as intelligent, friendly, energetic, happy and very alert type. 13 to 15 years of life expectancy, weight of her probably 3.2-4.1 kg, height 20-28 cm, fawn and white colour on her, looks very lovely.
She was seeing pompom with him from the very beginning. She doesn't know the importance of her presence in his life.
He doesn't came in today, probably forgotten that today is new year. He does like that. Always forgetful what others won't like to.
Everyone seems thinking about doing something at night, whatever it is they are going to enjoy the day, most of the customers came from their shopping, new year shopping or Christmas, I guess so.
Isn't it looks wonderful to see, how others where getting ready to celebrate their most awaited occasion.
Kei is planning to sing something different for the new year party. Dress she has rented for the occasion. Good part of her life is, there is a shop where everyone can rent party dress, jewellery and shoes for any kind of parties.
No one has to buy for that particular moment of their day.
However, Kei is pregnant. The father of her child is missing the day he knew he is the father. At first, she was very deeply in live with him, thought he could be her future husband but the moment of truth was, he is not mentally prepared to be the one.
It's now 3.5 months old, she wants to keep it who knows when she gets that perfect man to have a child with, that's why, she thought to keep it.
Do all the woman needs that perfect man to conceive a baby like me, thinking to herself? Or it isn't really matters.
Curiously greedy about the fact, the baby's father was a man of honour, served to many people as an opposition leader. He has his secret activists to work for him. He is not that well known in public but in his pupil he is a great man. He works for those as a leader who are neglected by the present influential people. They made him their leader without any proper political position or support. Kei thinks, he is a perfect animal to give sacrifice that's why, they have chosen him to do their dirty work.
Though he is responsible to his activists, he is not responsible to Kei. He thinks their love doesn't need a name or a father or any kind of legal documents as a proof of their pride but a mother who is a responsible person to give a patriot baby. He just ran away by keeping that note with a pink rose on her bedside table.
She never thought any sorts of moment like that going to happen in her life, a great man like him, can be that much of a coward.
Coward or not he is not coming back, ran away from his responsibility the vary first day, he knew about the baby. And now she is going to celebrate the new year with her baby alone.
Kei went back to her rehearsal staff room when James came with his dog for a dinner.
He is decided to take his dinner outside for the new year celebrations. Nothing extravagance just being casual. Not interested to go anywhere for the new year party.
Lame and boring as it can be but he is not doing it for impressing anyone, he is here for watching people's celebrations.
He loves to be the part of the witness of everything strangers like to rejoice for celebrations.
He sat to his usual place, it's empty because other's are in the back of the restaurant's hall room for the new year party.
DJ doing a great job for the mismatches of different kinds of fusions of songs and music. Everyone is enjoying the music, dancing, eating party snacks and drinking at the same time.
James on the other side, waiting for the waiter, no signs of him, his dog is becoming impatient too for his dinner.
James is very old customer of this restaurant, they knows him, that's why probably, they has dogs eating space along with the restaurant separately, of course.
In the limelight of the hall, a woman is looking at James like she never seen him before, it take quiet a little time for him before he could notice her in the corner.
That woman is the owner of the restaurant. She is over 40, no kids nor a husband, no know one ever saw any kind of interest on anyone, always busy with restaurant or entertainers, her name is Susanna, no one knows her last name, she never tell.
Why it's like that? Average looking but not a bad one, beautiful to only James perhaps because he has some kind of a feeling for her that he had for no one before.
Probably, another lonely soul likes another like him. James never stops to think about her or about his own newly discovered skill that he never thought as a skill until now.
He is not a good talker but for some reason people likes to share their fear as a talk or real with him that never happened after sharing with him.
He never knew he had that kind of a unknown presence in him, even when he thought out of something that could happen never happened later.
He is confuse about this new kind of bliss good or bad, no idea. Some kind of a nullify presence it seems.
He is very worried about it. Something that never happens after sharing with him. He us noticing it for a year now.
Once, a little girl came to her, to help her to take a photo of her with her bf as a golden memory after he came back they will get married. He took it and gave her camera back, she was very upset then, afterwards he came to know that boy is engaged with a beautiful rich girl and that girlfriend of his sharing that news with him. James felt very sad for her because she seemed to really love him.
After that, a woman came across with James in a park, sat beside him, calm and gentle presen, suddenly she opened her bag and took out a bottle. James had no idea what it was, quite a big than smaller size, drank the whole liquid that was inside it, then again silent air came across between them. She was checking her watch frequently. After a minute of watching her James asked her what did she drink? was it a medicine? was she sick? then she smiled at him with teary eye and said no, I am not sick, I just drank a bottle of poison, I am committing a suicide and waiting to die besides a stranger man like you.
James shocked and sat there for a while silently. It never happened to him before, no one ever commit a suicide beside him or even saw any then that is happening.
She added again, don't worry, it will be all fine, it should take a second but now passed minutes and I am still talking with you.
She didn't die that evening. She and James waited for her death but she didn't died. Surprisingly, that poison was a fake, she bought it from a black market at cheapest rate but it happened to be a fake one.
She had been a victim of fraudulent activities that save her lives. She was pregnant without being a married woman, that's why, she tried to kill herself and her child. That woman is a Kei, who he took her from that day and gave her a job in his known restaurant.
Soon after that, he met a little boy in the kids playground where he was training for a football competition against his own will.
He was a sixth grader, playing for his team, not interested in soccer but his mother loves it very much and so as his father. They made him to participate in this competition. They thought he had a bright future on it.
When he shared that he is not interested but he had to win at any cost then he fell on his knees and break his one of the leg.
In a sense, it makes his dream came true which was less important than winning the competition.
