4. Jungle

Karan and Simran sat in front of each other on a rock near the riverside, the gentle flow of the water creating a soothing melody. The sun was setting, casting a warm orange glow over the surroundings.

"What about your friend?" Simran asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Karan's expression changed, and he interrupted before Simran could continue, "You don't know about him He's a monster in Human skin, I totally forgot he was with us, It was like instinct Otherwise I wouldn't have Jumped."

Simran's eyes widened slightly, but composed herself and says with some fear. "You don't know about AK that's why you are saying this."

Karan sighed, running his hand through his hair. "It's you who don't know about Dev."

In Karan's Mind-( Border )

There are lots of Dead bodies and Between them is a Man, bathed in Blood Looking like a Monster. Even he felt the shiver run down his spine.

Simran raised an eyebrow. "You're not worried about him at all?" Simran Broke his thoughts into pieces.

Karan's expression softened, and he looked away, his voice barely above a whisper. "Of course, I am. But Dev's my best friend. I trust him."

As they sat in silence, the river's gentle lapping against the shore filled the air. Simran's thoughts drifted to Karan, wondering why her body feels hot like this whenever she looks at  his charming smile.

Karan's eyes never left the river, his mind replaying memories of Dev's reckless antics. He knew Dev as a carefree guy but that scene completely changed his view.

The sun dipped below the horizon, casting the sky in a warm, golden light. Karan stood, brushing off his clothes. "Let's Go."

Simran nodded, her eyes still lost in thought. As they walked away from the river, the silence between them was filled with unspoken lust between them.

_End of the Pov_

The soft morning light is filtered through the thick canopy, casting gentle beams across the jungle floor. The air was fresh and cool, with a faint scent of wet leaves and earth from the dew that had settled overnight. Dev stretched, feeling the crispness of the early morning all around him. It was peaceful here, with only the distant calls of birds and the occasional rustle of small animals moving through the underbrush to break the silence. Today felt different—there was no rush, no pressure. Just the calmness of the jungle.

As I was Searching for them I found some Traces left behind by Karan for me.

I stood up and surveyed my surroundings. The jungle was quiet with most of its inhabitants still waking up. The trail ahead of me was faint, barely visible beneath the dense foliage, but I had a good sense of direction. And I knew these woods well— I and Karan had spent countless battles in the forest and it was just a walk to find them, exploring and mapping out the terrain.

As I walked, the jungle opened up slightly, revealing a small clearing where sunlight streamed through in golden shafts. The warmth of the morning sun on my skin is really soothing,  pausing for a moment to enjoy it. I had a feeling that Karan might not be too far.

I crouched down near a patch of wildflowers, his fingers brushing lightly over the delicate petals. I loved the jungle so much—the sense of serenity, the quiet beauty hidden beneath the wildness. It was easy to lose yourself here, to become part of the natural rhythm of the place. I smiled, imagining Karan's usual grin and sarcastic remarks about my fascination with nature.

As I moved further into the jungle, the path became more defined, as though someone had recently passed through. The leaves were disturbed, and there were faint impressions in the soft earth, likely from someone's boots. This had to be Karan's trail. It wasn't fresh, but it was something. His friend had been here, not too long ago, and that meant he was getting closer. Still, there was no rush. The day was young, and the jungle was calm.

The sounds of the jungle in the morning were like a symphony—a mix of chirping birds, the rustle of leaves, and the distant trickle of a stream. I followed the sound of water, knowing that Karan, always practical, would have stuck close to a water source. The stream wasn't far, and when I reached it, I found the familiar sight of clear water winding its way through the jungle, reflecting the morning light in shimmering patterns. He crouched by the stream's edge, washing his face and feeling the cool water refresh him.he probably wouldn't have gone far.

As I walked, I couldn't help but feel connected to the life around me. The jungle was alive, but not in the chaotic way it was during the heat of the day. Now, in the coolness of the morning, everything seemed to move with a quiet purpose, as though the world was taking a deep breath before the day truly began. I felt the same—a calmness settling oveme as I followed Karan's trail.

Finally, after another hour of walking, I came across a large banyan tree standing at the edge of a small clearing, its massive roots curling out of the ground like the arms of a giant. And there, leaning against the tree with a relaxed smile on his face, was Karan.

"About time you got here," Karan called out, his voice cutting through the stillness. I laughed, as I approached Karan and gives him a blow stomach.

"Haha, got you bastard."

.

"Why the hell-" I cut him off

"Who jumped from the river and left his friend to fight alone."

"What about AK." Simran

.....

Simran hesitated before speaking. "You...you beat Ak?."

"Yeah, is there any problem?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me.

"Ak," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Karan's knowing smile spread across his face, his eyes gleaming with amusement.

"Ok, let's go he will be in bed for at least a week or two" I said.

Simran's gaze snapped back to reality. "Ok, . Let's go."

"By the way, Congratulations." I smiled.

Karan's smile hinted at secrets shared between.
