The fast approaching Trial 1

3de: POV

~ 1st Birthday ~

Inside a mansion at the outskirts of Tokyo, late at night you can find a family of three.

Two parents and one child. While the parents are tucking the child in after a long party, where only the family and a few 'maids' attended. You can see the child trying and failing to stay awake, while the parents chuckle at the child's antics.

Shiki: POV

"Now Shiki, as promised, starting tomorrow we'll be starting your magic training. But along with magic, you're also expected to take calligraphy, etiquette, music, cooking, history and dans classes." My dad told me, not seeing me deflated with every added subject.

*Pack*

"Mah~ mah~ Dear, don't tease Shi-chan like that~ We both know he isn't doing anything but magic and calligraphy untill he reaches 3 years old." Mom said, giving my dad a smack at the back of his head. Hearing her words I exhaled a breath of relief, while my eyes slowly closed.

*Yawn* "Thanks mom, thanks dad. Today was fun, can't wait to start.. on ma...gi..c " I said, while yawning and slowly falling asleep.

Thinking back to the banger of a birthday party I just had, I can't help but smile with contempt.

'I'm really happy I got reborn into this world and family.' With these thoughts I fell asleep.

...

Waking up the next day, with an extra spring in my step, I went over to the dinning room, where my parents were already waiting for me.

"Good morning Shiki/ Morning Shi-chan~" My parents greeted simultaneously. "Morining!!"

I chirped, full of expectation for my quickly approaching magic classes.

Drinking all my food( Milk in a bottle )in record time, I instantly jump of my seat, go over to my mom and asking full of enthusiasm. " Mom!! Let's go, finish fast so I can learn magic!" I exclaim, brimming with excitement. I mean, this is magic we're talking about here. MAGIC!!!

"Haha, Irin looks like you're going to have to cut breakfast a little short today." My dad commented looking at my excitement with a hearty laugh. "Thanks dad! Mom let's go!" I exclaimed filled with energy, despite it being a Monday morning. How do I know it's Monday? Dont know, just do, like some kind of instinct.

And so my mom took me to a separate room.

"Okay Shi-chan~ As you know, you're half Fallen Angel, so~" Mom started giving basic magic theory for Fallens. Apparently God made it so that Angels can learn any type of magic, and the we instinctively know devil and human magic, which is just an imitation of devil magic.

She explained that magic is usually cast through magic circles, and every race has their own magic circles, and within that race circles there are also different clan circles and or individual circles. Real confusing stuff.

Well, she decided to teach me he Fallen Angel's magic first, and when I'm ready, her own specialty. Mind magic. But for now considering it's the first day, she explained the basics of the basic magic circle theory, and mana control exercises. She said that we usually start with trying to find our mana pools/cores, but after seeing my status on the scroll they decided to skip it.

After finishing our first lesson, I decided to ask about the subject I was most interested in.

"Mom can you teach me about Runes to? I really want to learn it!" I pleaded with my mom to teach me about them.

"You want to learn about Runes Shi-chan~? They're not really that interesting, sure their useful for instance lighting up a dark room with a light Rune. But in terms of attack... it's practically zero."

She said before taking a thinking pose. ' I hope she says yes, I really want to recreate Fuinjutsu from Naruto, that crap was over powered.' I thought, wishing on my A grade luck that she says yes.

"Ah, what the heck, sure~ Why not. It's not really that hard anyways, you just need to learn the language and it's easy from there." She says after thinking for a bit.

' YESSS!! Flying Raijin here i come!' I said to my self, while portraying my happiness with a eye blinding smile.

Seeing my smile, my mom gets a smile of her own. "Well~ Someone's exited. But don't get all happy yet, mommy will only teach Runes if we have time left after magic theory and before your calligraphy classes. So~ Work hard, okay Shi-chan~?" Hearing her say these words, I wasn't at all discouraged, if anything I was elated, I mean I need to be good at calligraphy if I want to recreate the art of sealing.

*Thumbs up* " You got it mom, hehe."

3de: POV

And so the years passed, and the aforementioned trial is slowly approaching.

Inside a room filled with different types of scrolls and notes, you can find a child no older than four, working on what seems to be traditional Japanese calligraphy. This was a very cute looking child. Slanted grey eyes, almost a steel like color, with an almost unnoticeable white circle surrounding the pupil. Snow white hair, with unusual black symbols at the left side of the hair.

( Just search up nurarihyon no mago, and look at the black shapes in his hair.)

And a peculiar tanned skin color, that doesn't match his hair.

This Of course was our protagonist, Shiki Nura.

Right now he's finishing up on a project that he's been working on for about a year and a half now. After learning the Runic and traditional Japanese language, he's been trying to make his first seal, the most basic of seals. The storage seal. After learning Runes, he realized how ineffective it was. Why, you ask? Well, it's because, annoying Runes can do magic does better. If you want light, just a simple lighting spell will do. But for Runes, you need not only more time, but also a rudimentary understanding of the Runic language.

After finding more and more flaws and limitations with Runes, Shiki's motivation increased tenfold. Spending most of his free time trying to remember as many things about seals as possible, and adding the basic principles of Runes to it. And now, after months of work, he finally finished his first working seal.

*Poof*

In a puff of smoke, the contents that where placed on top of a scroll disappeared. In front of the scroll, you can find our protagonist checking to see if everything was in order.

*Poof*

Than in another puff of smoke, all the contents where back on the scroll. Finding nothing broken or disfigured among the contents that came out of the smoke, Shiki gasped in surprise.

*Gasp* " I.. It worked!! Yess!! Finally!"

Jumping up and down in joy, Shiki failed to notice his parents and the head 'maid' standing by the doorway, with slightly widened eyes at what just happened.

" Yari.... did Shi-chan really make his own mystic art at four years old?" Irin asked, her playful nature nowhere to be found. If Shiki where to look at his mother right now the words that he would see would be.

[ Shock, Pride, Astonishment ]

The most shocking among the three was Yari.

" I'm just as surprised as you... I mean we both knew what Shiki was trying to do, and we know manny have tried before him but to no avail. But i never imagined he would succeed. I was planning on making this a leaning experience for him, that you can't always succeed or get what you want..... But this was unexpected." Yari commented.

' To think he would actually accomplish his goal, and so quickly to.'

The least surprised one was Heddo, the head 'maid'.

The reason she was the least surprised was the simple fact that she was always around the young master, and also helped him when he was stuck occasionally. But that didn't deter the astonishment visible on her face. The only difference between them was the reason for the surprise.

' The young master is amazing. Unlike Runes, that only use language to perform the desired results. Seals use language and calculations, the fact that the young master can even calculate to such an advanced degree is amazing enough. But he even saw fit to create his own formulas and rules.'

Heddo thought in amazement, at her young master's intelligence.

Hearing a sound coming from the doorway, Shiki stopped his celebration and turned around.

Seeing his parents and maid standing there, wide eyed, he can't help but let a subtle blush form on his face.

"Uh...Hi?" He says trying to defuse the unknown atmosphere.

...

~At the main Nura headquarters~

Sitting in a sakura tree, observing the moon, we can find Nurarihyon himself.

Sitting in silence he feels the wind brush past his face. After a few more moments of this he finally spoke.

" The trial... It is fast approaching. I hope you are ready little Nura.... for the yokai world is anything but kind."

And disappears in sakura petals with the wind.
