Chapter 36
He had been angry when he came home to an empty house. One check of the studio, seeing the portfolio wasn’t where Ryan usually kept it, and he’d known where Ryan had gone. It had somewhat calmed his anger, although he was still upset. Didn’t Ryan know better than to go anywhere without his permission?
He’d stalked down to the ground floor to wait for Ryan to return. As the time passed, he began to imagine reasons for Ryan’s tardiness. An accident. He’s lying in a hospital. His car broke down. If it did, he’d have called. He met a friend. Which, of course, led to the next thought. A man he used to fuck, and they reconnected. Rationally, he didn’t believe it for a moment. But it gave him a reason to lay into Ryan the minute he came into the house.
And so he’d ranted and raved, and let things go too far.
Now, he had to fix them.
