Chapter 183 : The Cortes sword

After that Alex took Jack and the crew to the spot where the treasure was hidden. He found it while he was trying to fix the island.

The treasure was hidden in a cave behind the waterfall. The cave behind the waterfall is wide and spacious, with a ceiling that stretches high above, and walls made of jagged rocks.

There was sunlight coming through a hole in the ceiling, illuminating the cave with a soft, golden glow.

The light illuminated the treasures in the cave, glinting off the gems and gold coins that were scattered across the floor. A few pieces of boxes were tucked away in the back, including a large chest filled with even more riches.

As soon as the pirates saw the treasure, they shouted, "Wow, treasures!" in excitement.

Then they lunged towards the treasures, grabbing as much as they could fit in their pockets, and stuffing their bags full of gems and coins. They were so excited at the sight of the riches that they had discovered, they could hardly contain themselves.

Jack excitedly fell on a pile of gold and began scooping it up eagerly. He laughed foolishly looking at the gold, thinking of all the things he could buy with it. Alex couldn't stop laughing as he saw this.

As Jack was enjoying this he saw something shining at the corner of the cave. He walked towards it, and was surprised to find that there was a skeleton with a sword beside it. Seeing the sword Jack had a sudden urge to hold it. He slowly reached out to grab it.

Then a ghostly white hand grabbed Jack's hand. Jack slowly turned his head towards the hand. Jack saw a grey ghost looking at him coldly. The ghost had a glowing white face and two white eyes that pierced Jack's soul. It was a frightening sight, and Jack felt a chill run down his spine. It had a deep voice that said,

"Do not touch the sword, it is not yours to wield."

"I'm just seeing it," said Jack with a forced smile

Jack smiled and stood up. Then he ran away without looking back, never wanting to see the ghost again.

"Argggggh ghost " shouted Jack as he ran towards Alex and hugged him tight.

Alex, startled by Jack's sudden outburst, pushed Jack away, and punched him in the head Alex said.

"Who are you calling ghost? Do you wanna get beat up?" Alex asked with a tone of fury. As he clutched his hand, Alex stared angrily at Jack, daring him to make another move.

"There is a ghost? It tried to eat me "said Jack as he pointed in the direction of the ghost, his eyes wide with fear.

"Ghost ? did you see something ? " asked Alex with question marks on his face.

"Yes...it even talked to me," said Jack

"What did it say? Did it say you are handsome?" said Alex with a smile.

"I'm not joking, there is really a ghost," said Jack pointing towards the direction.

Then Alex looked in the direction Jack was pointing and saw a faint figure in the corner. But as he concentrated with his spiritual sense, the figure slowly started to fade away until it finally passed away. He thought that the power of his spiritual sense was too powerful for that spirit to handle.

"There is no ghost it's gone "

"Really?"

"Yes, so now stop clinging to me," said Alex pushing Jack away.

Then he came towards the place where the sword was.

"Do you want that sword?" asked Alex as he saw the sword and the black aura surrounding it.

"Is there anything wrong with that sword?" asked Jack as he looked at the sword.

The sword of Cortés was a finely-crafted sword, with a black blade and an ornate hilt. The sword was said to be surrounded by a mysterious black aura, and it was said to be imbued with powerful magical forces.

"Yes, it is cursed," said Alex

"What curse?" asked Jack as he kept his distance from the sword

"Yes, that is the sword of Cortés the legendary sword, "said Alex as he took the sword

"Alex, why are you touching that sword?" Jack asked shocked when he saw Alex holding the sword.

"The curse is meant for humans. It is nothing to me " said Alex as he channelled the lightning power into the sword.

Suddenly, a bright light surrounded the sword and lightning started to spark and dance around it. Alex held the sword tightly and lightning energy swirled around him.

"What the hell?" shouted Jack as he backed away from Alex and he saw lightning surrounding Alex. His face was filled with surprise.

"Is this the power of God?" muttered Jack.

Lightning disappeared and everything became normal. Alex was standing there, looking as if nothing had happened. Jack was still in shock, and he couldn't believe what he had just seen. He slowly started to recover from the surprise and asked Alex,

"What was that?".

"Nothing, just a fraction of my power, "said Alex with a calm face.

"Just a fraction?" Jack asked with a look of surprise.

"Yes, do you want to see my full power?"

"No no I want to live more," said Jack shaking his hands with horror on his face.

"Don't worry, I don't think my full power will kill you...maybe just a little bit!"

A funny smile spread across Jack's face as he replied, "No, I value my life more so keep that to yourself".

Then Alex fed the sword to his lightning bolt to increase its power.

After that, Alex left the island and he and Jack parted ways. Jack watched as Alex sailed away, still with a funny smile on his face
