Chapter 61: Chaos Force

"What did I say?"

"You said Alex is a god."

"Yes, isn't he?" Grover replied, not understanding the situation.

He stood for a moment, a glint of understanding flashing in his eyes.

"Alex… you didn't tell her?"

"No, why should I announce to everyone I meet that I'm a god?"

"I was going to tell her once she had calmed down."

"But you just said it now…" Grover said.

"So, Grover, is this guy really a god?" She asked.

"It's quite unbelievable, right?"

"Yeah, who would have thought a god would be so damn weak?"

"Annabeth, this guy is not weak at all. He caused the lightning this morning."

"Really?"

"Yes, not only that, this guy can even stop time."

"It's unbelievable. Such a powerful god and yet so down-to-earth."

"What do you mean 'down-to-earth'?" Alex asked.

"Treating us normal," Annabeth smiled.

"No matter how strong you are, all life is equal."

"See, Annabeth? This guy differs from other gods."

"Yeah."

"Guys, let's have lunch," Grover suggested.

"Okay, let's go."

Soon, they arrived at the dining area where everyone was having lunch. The three of them found a table, sat down, and began eating.

"So, Alex, which god are you?" someone at the table asked.

"I am a god who rules over lightning and time."

"Why haven't I heard of a god like you before?"

"I don't like attention, so I'm not famous."

He couldn't reveal that he came from another world.

"Do you have a wife?" another person asked.

Alex, who was taking a sip of his drink, almost spit it out.

"What did you ask?" he exclaimed.

"Do you have a wife?"

"No, I don't have one."

Technically, he didn't have a wife. Alice was his lover, so what Alex said was true.

"Then how old are you?"

"Why are you asking that?"

"Nothing, just out of curiosity."

"I won't say."

"Okay then, don't say."

"So, is there anything special planned for the afternoon?"

"Nothing in particular. If you're bored, you can practice with Annabeth," Grover suggested.

"Yes, you can come with me," Annabeth chimed in.

"You just want to beat me, don't you?" Alex teased.

"No, I'm just asking for practice," Annabeth replied with innocent eyes.

"Alex, you can go with her, since you have nothing else to do."

"Okay, since it's just practice."

"Then do your best, Alex." Grover patted him on the back.

After they finished their lunch, Grover left.

"So, where are we going to practice?" Alex asked.

"We're going to practice there," Annabeth said, pointing towards a place where everyone was practicing with swords and shields.

Alex picked up a sword, and Annabeth did the same.

"Let's start!"

Annabeth stood in front of Alex and swung her sword toward his neck, but Alex parried the attack with his own sword.

The fight continued for about half an hour.

"Don't you need a rest?" Alex asked, noticing Annabeth's exhaustion.

"Yes, I need a good rest. Let's continue this later," Annabeth said.

"Okay, sure."

"I also have something to do," Alex added.

"What is it?"

"Nothing important, just experimenting with something. You go rest first."

After Annabeth left, Alex found a secluded spot where no one was around and sat on the ground in a meditative pose. He focused on feeling the chaotic energy within his body.

Alex sensed a powerful and unruly force of chaos within him, which was challenging to control.

After attempting for five minutes, Alex opened his eyes and said, "Mastering the chaos force won't be easy."

"Let's try utilizing a small portion of it."

Once again, Alex closed his eyes and envisioned a place filled with an immense amount of chaos energy.

"It will take time to harness such a vast power," Alex realized.

"Let's start with a smaller portion."

Alex absorbed a small amount of chaos energy into his body and distributed it throughout, creating a continuous circulation akin to blood flow.

After five hours, Alex opened his eyes.

"Even now, it's quite challenging to control," Alex admitted.

"Let's give it a try."

A red light emanated from Alex and struck a nearby rock. The rock levitated for five seconds before disappearing.

"It seems the technique is flawless," Alex acknowledged.

"But it lacks strength."

"Mastering skills at the multiverse level is truly difficult."

"Even with my magic eyes, comprehending the chaos force proves to be overwhelming."

Now, what Alex did was use the chaos force to remove the rock from reality. However, he still lacked the power to manipulate reality like the Scarlet Witch.

Observing the darkening sky, Alex realized, "Night has fallen so quickly. I missed my training session with Annabeth."

"I hope she isn't angry."

Alex emerged from the trees and made his way towards the camp. Soon, he arrived at the campfire where everyone sat gathered, enjoying their meal.

Alex searched for Annabeth and found her sitting alone near a tree. He approached her.

"Hello, Annabeth. Why are you sitting alone?"

"Some jerk promised to meet me, but he didn't show up," Annabeth replied, clearly upset.

Upon hearing this, Alex thought, 'She's mad.'

"I'm sorry. I got too engrossed in my work and lost track of time," Alex apologized.

"Okay. So that's your excuse?"

"Sorry... for coming late,"

"So, how are you going to make it up?" She added.

"You can ask anything, and I'll do it as long as it's within my power," Alex replied.

"In that case, tell me, what is the difference between gods and humans?"
