In the mind of an NPC

After reincarnating into the past as an NPC, Girisia was faced with two options, either fall into despair and continue to barely survive in the lowest drenches of the society or make a stand and find out who played this ugly game with his life. Now, if destiny is to be challenged, there should be nothing wrong in using the immortal resources that come in the form of Players. After all, "A hunter cannot be blamed for hunting a prey that willingly served itself." ***** Read my other work called "Jealous Nerd vs The Immortal Army". The story of an unlikely manipulative hero without shame or care for the world. Born with a vulgar mouth and equally cursed ability, the immortals will regret meeting him. If I have to say, he is polar opposite of the MC in ItmNPC.

Item Type: Biological Augment [Marrow augment]

Name: Marrow of the Seventh Daughter[Mythic]

Advantages: ???

Disadvantages: ???

Remark: Its donor once dreamed of a happy life without pain. That dream will only remain a dream.

Error: Due to conflict with player and NPC template, you can't use the player augment function directly, please use the item through manual means.

'Thought so.' Girisia was not surprised about the error, he had seen it multiple times already. Not like he was going to use the helper function even if it worked here as it would stand out too much. And he was already pretty special anyways.

"Having second thoughts?" Looking at the melancholic expression of Girisia, WIlkis asked.

"Nothing, just wondering about something… What happened to the donor of the marrow. As it seems her mother was super strong, but she still ended up as nothing but… this." Girisia deflected the question, he knew how the old man in front of him could catch his lies.

But it was not like his suspicions were pointless. They held some merit that Wilkis also wondered about.

"I am not sure about it. Maybe, it's the same reason why there was no mention of her in the future nor any reaction from her when we eventually implant this inside you." WIlkis was not stupid. He knew how mothers are when they lose a child. And if he remembers his own mother's words correctly. This she was not just a normal kind of entity and it has traumatized his mother so much so that she never dared to say her name.

One of the reasons why this small story he heard as a child left such a deep impact on him.

"For your and my sake, I pray you are right and she is dead." Girisia already had some idea of the strength of this entity by the way people feared calling out her name. But he found it absurd considering that this was just a starter planet. And an entity of that level can never originate from a place like this.

'Maybe, it's just paranoia... Yes, it's paranoia.'

"If the two of you have had your talk, how about we begin the operation." Unlike the two that were experiencing ominous thoughts, Farsight was excited instead. She was not worried about the operation at all. Instead, she just wanted to keep some strains of cells from the canister for her use.

Such a high class of genetic material was hard to come by and she won't let it all be wasted on Girisia.

"Yes, please start. I want to be over with this as soon as possible." Girisia gave his approval. "And Mayor, that's for accepting this request, I promise this… that you will never regret what will happen today." And some gratitude.

The operation was not hard, all they needed to do was empty some of Girisia's original bone marrow and replace it with the one in the canister.

So with Wilkis overseeing the operation personally, Farsight did her magic.

Her hands slowly split apart into multiple meaty tendrils, one of which slowly grew a bony knife at its end while others started to operate all the machines to maintain Girisia's life.

As for Wilkis, he was not disgusted by this form of his daughter. Instead, he felt proud of the acute control of her muscles.

There were no trembling muscles, instead, they moved with precise control as they split apart the flesh on Girisia's back, exposing his vertebrae lining. Then using two of her other tendrils she expanded the wound on his back and used some staples to stabilize the wound and keep it open.

"There is too much blood." She was annoyed by the sputtering of blood on her specs, so to stop it from turning any more dirty. She made some small cuts around Girisia's wound to decrease the blood pressure.

'Well, she could have just used some anesthesia.' Even if he felt proud of his daughter, he was still a bit surprised by the barbaric way Farsight did her operations. But he knew better than anyone to disturb someone during the operation. And more so if that person is doing a lot of things at once.

"Let's extract it." Farsight was not rank three yet, this was the limit of her mutant abilities that could be used in operation. So picking up a small saw, she accurately cut open a big enough space in Girisia's vertebrae. And threw the splintered bone into the trash.

Now the work was easy, extracting some of Girisia's bone marrow and making space for the new one.

"Sir mayor, please open it." She requested Wilkis who was intently watching the operation.

"Of course." Now was the time. The moment Wilkis was here for.

With a single twist, the canister broke into two pieces and exposed its insides which consisted of a singular tube of pinkish organic fluid. There was nothing special about it. And even with his high rank, Wilkis himself didn't find anything special about this marrow fluid.

And soon he felt it, a certain someone looking at him. No, it would be better to say that certain someone was looking at the tube, with compassion.

This slight feeling did generate some fear inside Wilkis. He also looked toward his daughter who couldn't feel a thing and thought to just throw the tube aside and leave this place as early as possible.

But this feeling soon disappeared. And with it, the creepy feeling he felt.

"What happened?" Farsight asked, her eyes staying on the marrow tube.

"Nothing, just focus on the operation."

*****

On a tall mountain, a small and thin man slowly climbed toward its summit.

The man looked like a forest hermit. His beard reached his foot while his body was barely covered up with leaves and with a hunched back and a cane in his hand, he ascended the mountain.

The wind got harsher and colder the higher he rose. But the man didn't slow down as there was no change in his movement, he was climbing the mountain at a stable pace with no worries in the world.

And after hours of struggle, he reached his destination which was the summit of the mountain.

A summit shaped like a flat face of a person.

"Are you awake, Lerwai?" The small hermit asked, looking toward the rocky face.

And in reply to his question the mountain started trembling before the eyes of the rocky face barely opened and spoke "Oh, you are here brother?" An ancient demonic voice escaped from the lips of the rocky face while the mountain shook with each syllable and even caused the jungle under the mountain to come alive as countless beasts cried in respect toward the voice.

The mountain was not the only thing that came alive, instead, the whole forest felt joy because of it.

"Yes I am, you are not dreaming this time." The old hermit replied. "Now tell me, why to disturb me?" He asked.

The rocky face was still a bit sleepy, its mood groggy but after knowing that it was his older brother. The rocky face in a sleepy tone answered.

"A child of my forest took Makyr's last remnants with hi…"

"Lerwai, think of your next words carefully. Give me a proper reason for your inaction for such a desecration toward our blood or I will shatter your new body in pieces." The threat from the small old hermit didn't have any strong emotions backing them up.

But the owner of the rocky face knew that the threat was not empty. If it didn't give a valid reason to his older brother, not only will his older brother punish him but the side effects of this punishment may cause some serious harm to the forest below.

So he told him the words that will save his rocky carapace."Brother, don't get angry. I was just following the words of our mother."

And these words worked, the old hermit calmed down a bit, before asking. "Did those words contain something for me too?" If the inaction on his brother's part was done under the order of their mother, then there was nothing to care for the old Hermit. Now he was just curious. What did the woman that left them long ago ask of him?

"Yes, she did." The giant face replied. "Capture the person who has a part of our sister after three years from now."

"And do what with this person?"

"She didn't say brother, she seemed tired from her voice." The rocky face giant hidden under the mountain said in a tired voice himself. "It seems I am also tired now… good night brother, Lerwai won't be able to see you out."

As Lerwai the mountain giant spoke these words, his voice died down before the trembling on the mountain stopped entirely leaving the old hermit alone at the summit.

"Have a good sleep little brother." Knowing nothing was to be gained in this place anymore, the old hermit started to descend the mountain while lost in his thoughts.

But he didn't entirely leave the mountain before staring toward a particular tree and giving out a warning. "I don't like being spied on." Which startled the moth-like creature and forced it to come out of camouflage and fly off into the air, away from the old hermit.

The same moth-like creature that gave a helping hand to Tarkov a few days ago.
