Chapter 49 The strongest

Dante had been waiting for this moment for what seemed like an eternity, searching for the perfect opportunity to strike, lurking in the shadows, hunting for that spot where Gojo would let his guard down, and finally, the time had come.

With his sword ready, he lunged at Gojo, hoping to end his life with one swift blow. But even in this alarming situation, Gojo's reflexes were lightning-fast. He skillfully dodged the lethal attack, redirecting it to his left arm in an attempt to minimize the damage.

The sword sliced through Gojo's arm like butter, dodging all the damage to vital organs, but the injury was still severe, leaving his arm useless and bleeding on the floor.

Feeling the surge of pain, he remained calm and composed, his eyes locked onto the strange girl who had just appeared.

Considering that he had the speed and surprise factor, Dante mutters without realizing it. "Seriously...? I already knew you were strong, but this is ridiculous."

Gojo did not ask himself why someone with that weapon was standing before him, nor even why she had wings; he set up his priorities straight. He jumped back, trying to get distance while thinking about what he learned from her.

And he had already made three key discoveries. During the small encounter, he noticed that this girl seemed to have lower durability and strength but the same speed as Toji. Thought Gojo in his mind, "So this was their secret weapon... What?!"

As he healed his arm, Gojo's mind raced because he attempted to diagnose the cause of his sudden illness. His insides felt dizzy, and he immediately suspected poison. The reversed Cursed technique has a hard time dealing with this, and the technique of the cursed spirit hasn't dissipated.

Gojo continued thinking, "She is weaker than me, but all the odds are stacked against... First, let's take care of the annoying volcano."

Dante rushed at him, flapping his wings as fast as possible. He couldn't afford to let him regenerate.

Using his mastery over blue, Gojo infused himself with its power, enhancing his speed and agility. Dante's frantic attacks barely grazed him as he slipped in and out of each strike with ease.

With Dante's attention fixated on him, Gojo surreptitiously positioned himself in a certain way, allowing him to either his enemy take the hit or have the cursed spirit die from it, canceling his technique.

Dante realizing this, mutters, "Shit...!"

Extending his hands, he moved his fingers into a seal position and incantated, "RED!" A burst of intense red light enveloped Dante for a split second before he managed to redirect the lethal attack with his dagger.

However, the impact was still too much for him to handle, sending him flying several meters away and causing a numbing sensation in his broken arm.

Dante looked down at his arm in disbelief as he saw it was completely torn and shattered from tanking the hit for Jogo. "I can't believe we are already in the same conditions," he said, gritting his teeth in pain. The battle between the two had only just begun, but the stakes were already high and the consequences dire.

Meanwhile, he expressed this on the outside. Dante erupted in a volcano of anger, rambling inside, "The heck...? I literally don't have any cursed energy, so I should be invisible. I was fucking hiding inside a Cursed spirit, I AM IMMUNE TO DOMAIN EXPANSIONS, and even if literally the whole universe aligned so I could kill him, he still retaliated??? What kind of bullshitery is this?"

Blood began dripping from his left arm. You could even see how the flesh twisted and bent, with some pieces of bone from the sheer power of 'Red.' Dante said, "This still hurts even if I already have pain resistance."

Gojo didn't respond because he couldn't. Every word was precious, and now he wondered, how is she fine with the oxygen? How did she hide from him? That cursed tool emits a special aura; he should have detected it. Did she use an inventory curse?

Seeing how Gojo was in front of him, not dead from the surprise attack, Dante received a flashback of a few days ago.

-...-

While they played 'Uno,' Geto casually replied to the question Dante had just made, "What would happen if you fail to kill him instantly?"

Geto played a green 7 and remarked, "You don't stand a chance. He's superior in strength and technique; your only advantage is speed-"

I yelled, interrupting him, "UNO!!!"

Geto's gaze turned to the side. "Mahito, do you have a +4?"

Mahito assented with his head while laughing.

Seeing what their plan was, I quickly voiced my opinion, "HEY HEY! That's not fair, common mahito. Just let me win this one!"

-...-

This is bad... Geto told me I'm dead the moment I miss... Right now, I can barely keep up with him, thanks to the cocktails of stimulants he gave me to fight him.

The world spun around Dante as he struggled to keep up with Gojo's lightning-fast movements. The dim lights of the Shibuya station illuminated the two fighters locked in a deadly dance. Dante's sword glinted in the flickering shadows.

Gojo was slowly getting pushed back. He wanted to catch his breath, but he couldn't, literally and metaphorically.

Gojo's mind raced as he analyzed his enemy's fighting patterns, searching for any weaknesses or openings. But Dante's relentless onslaught was like that of a wild predator, striking with primal ferocity and determination.

He relentlessly charged towards Gojo. With each swing of his sword, Dante closed in on Gojo, the force behind each strike increasing with alarming speed. But Gojo held his ground, utilizing every ounce of cursed energy to keep up with the brutal onslaught.

Despite his best efforts, Gojo knew that he couldn't keep up this pace for too long. He could feel his body slowly reaching its limit, his chest burning, his heart pounding, and his vision blurring.

But even as exhaustion threatened to overwhelm him, Gojo remained a formidable opponent. His strategic mind and sharp intellect came into play as they allowed him to anticipate Dante's moves and counter them effectively.

Dante continued his rampage, and Gojo finally saw an opportunity in the chaos. He unleashed a devastating blow of black cursed energy that ripped through the air, sending Dante flying back and creating much-needed distance between them.

Dante felt every bone in his body rattle as he struggled to hold his ground against the powerful attack. Feeling his bones shattering and skin tearing from the attack. Blood dripped from his mouth as he could hardly get up again from the hard floor.

With his eyes trembling as he looked down, he thought while he pushed himself back up to continue the fight. "If I take one more of those, I'll die..."

While wiping the blood from his mouth, Dante's eyes locked onto his enemy with an unbreakable focus. With a deep breath, he steadied his stance and tightened his grip on his weapon. A confident smile spread across his face as he spoke, "Hey... This is only the start."
