Chapter – 50: Yuki clan in the bag

Usually, there are two ways to become famous as a medical-nin. The first one is obvious, advertising; I can try to promote myself by having some people start spreading rumors about my godly skills. Basically, the same method that the Mizukage used some time ago.
The second method is to let my achievements speak for themselves by actually doing something major in the field. Just like Tsunade did on so many occasions.
The former method is easier but requires a lot of time and effort to see any results, whereas the latter is much more difficult, might even be impossible in some cases, but I don't need to depend on anyone else; whether it's a success or failure will only depend on how I execute it.
My plan is actually to do a bit of both. In the near future, I will do something impressive as a medical-nin and at the same time have some of my clones spread rumors by exaggerating it beyond belief; like I did some miracle.

After working at the hospital for a month, I finally found a suitable target.
Yuki Naosuke; the youngest son of the Yuki clan patriarch, Yuki Haruko, was injured by an enemy ninja when he was on a mission yesterday. The injuries themselves were not that serious, but the enemy had applied poison on their weapons. With the standards of medical-nin in Kiri being bad, they are currently struggling to find a way to even expel the poison out of his body.
Actually, I shouldn't be too hard on them, the poison is actually not that bad. It actually starts to merge and corrode the victim's blood from the inside out! It's just that, in Tsunade's memories, there are at least three different ways to treat this poison. However, doing so right away would be a big loss for me. So, I started cooking up a scheme.
Yesterday after he was brought into the hospital, I asked if I could take a look. With my status as the one invited by the Mizukage himself, no one tried to stop me; forget stopping, the Yuki clan patriarch was even full of expectations.
After analyzing the state Naosuke was in, I could estimate that if left untreated, he will at most have a week to live. As I enter the hospital, I see Yuki Haruko already there waiting for me. Before he can ask, "Let's go to your son's ward before speaking," I say.
He just nods and we both start walking towards Naosuke's ward.
A few minutes later, seeing Naosuke's worsening condition, I begin my act with a long sigh.
"What happened? were you also not able to find a way to treat my son?" he asks.
"No, that's not the case," I sigh again, "In fact, I have two different ways to treat him!"
"That's great…"
Just when he was about to jump in joy, I continue, "But the problem is, both of those methods have some strict requirements…"
"Anything you want, just name it and my Yuki clan will get it for you!"
Before I could say anything, he already swore to provide me with everything I need. Putting aside the obvious parental love, just the fact that he is the son of the current Yuki clan patriarch should put him way above the masses. Even though he might not be in line for being the next patriarch, one can never be too sure in these uncertain times. No one can really tell when an accident could befall his eldest son!
"Please hear me out first," I say calming him down, "The first method is for me to develop an antidote by analyzing the poison. This method according to me is too risky to try as I can't exactly say how long I might need to deduce the ingredients used to make the poison and come up with something to neutralize it. From what I see, Naosuke cannot afford that much time…"
"The second method is to corner the poison to one part of the body and remove it from there. But the problem is, the poison is starting to merge with Naosuke's blood. If we want to remove his blood, we will have to transfuse someone else's blood into him for as long as the treatment would last! In addition, I cannot just transfuse anyone's blood. The blood needs to be compatible with Naosuke's. However, if we can find the compatible blood required, I have a hundred percent confidence in this method to save him…"
"Are you certain this will work?" he asks with uncertainty, if simple transfusion would have worked, Kiri medical-nin would have done it by now, right?
"You can rest assured. I swear on my profession as a doctor, if I fail, I will give up treating people!" I did oversimplify the process skipping over some key steps. Without having certain special techniques, how can one isolate the poisoned blood from the rest and remove it?
"No, no, no… you don't have to say that… we will go with the second idea…" he shakes his head in embarrassment. The other medical-nins couldn't even find a way to treat him and If left untreated, his son will die anyway, so he has nothing to lose by trying.
"Good! Since the Kekkei Genkai bloodline is unique, the first requirement for the donor is to be someone from your clan. Next, I need to test the compatibility of blood between the one who is donating his blood and Naosuke's."

"Mmmm, I need around three to four hours to test all of them; unless of course I find what we need before that. We will start the treatment today and I promise I will have your son healthy in a week!"
