87. Preparations
"So Howard will drop us from the Heli and us two will bombard the base". King said simply while wearing a black combat suit on his body.
"Yeah, so get ready to go". Howard nodded his head and replied back.
"Make sure to not spread anything about my strength intentionally. It's not much to keep secret but I like my peace". King warned with a smile and both of them nodded their heads.
"Are you three ready yet?" Peggy walked in on them after she felt that they were taking a long time to go.
"Uh". Steve and the other two froze in place because the three of them were still changing. They were only in underwear when Peggy walked in.
This is still mid twentieth century and the situations is not so open that you can just walk in on a male changing without consequences.
"Get ready quickly". Peggy slammed the door with a Red face and exited the room with a huff.
Steve quickly dressed up and ran out of the room to appease his girlfriend from her sour mood. He wanted this mission to go good and Peggy's mood was quite important as well.
"He is quite well trained huh". Howard commented when he saw Steve running after Peggy.
"When you get married, I will see how you act". King smiled and fired a shot at Howard.
"Hmph, this man has no scruples". Howard put his nose to the sky and boasted.
"And you are speaking like you are married or something. I'll see how you behave in front of your wife, Polar Bear like guy". Howard snapped back at him relentlessly.
"Um, actually, I am already married. Didn't I tell you before?" King looked at him with an inexplicable smile that was borderline smirk.
"What?" Howard was astonished once more today by King's words.
He has known this guy for a couple weeks and has even visited his mansion but he never knew this fact.
"Son of a…." Howard paused right there when he felt King's aura flaring as he continued with his words.
So he quickly realised to not continue this or it might not end very good for him. His danger perception was ringing at full blast and even his back was cold.
"Who's your wife? Is it Diane or Emma?" He couldn't help his curiosity and asked in a hushed voice.
He doesn't know that Elaine and Freyja also know King. Since they are not usually around him whenever there are guests in the mansion.
"I have seven wives". King coughed and replied back without changing his face.
"What? Are you some king of Sheikh from Middle Easts?" Howard's voice was loud and he held King by the shoulders while trying to question him.
"I'm actually better than a sheikh but you'll know in time". King didn't reply back and gave a cryptic answer that scratched on Howard's heart like an itch.
He is a Scientist and a Genius and one of the worst traits of a Genius is their curiosity. They just can't keep themselves from finding the truth behind things.
"That's done, let's roll". King finished and walked out of the room.
"Shhh". As soon as they walked out. King motioned Howard to keep silent because he saw something interesting.
Steve and Peggy's relationship is advancing too fast in this reality. King saw them kissing in the hallway when he got out of the room.
"This is getting a bit more hot". Howard commented lightly in King's ear while watching the two go at it.
"They are not stopping". Howard said again when he saw them getting more and more engrossed into the kiss.
"I can see that. Can you even shut your mouth for a second?" King said annoyedly when Howard kept bugging him.
"Let's do this". King whispered something in Howard's ear and started to slowly move towards the couple.
"Like your Cut G". He got behind Steve and slapped the area just below his hair and around the neck with a lot of strength. It caused an audible bang.
"Owwww". Steve rubbed his neck in pain when King smacked him with a lot of strength.
"Hahaha". Howard and King burst out in laughter after that slap.
"Stay there". Steve ran after them and both of them ran towards the Helipad together like some good friends with tacit understanding.
"These guys". Peggy just shook her head with a smile and started walking towards the Helipad as well.
Soon, her face was back to her cold look and she came to Helipad where Steve was circling King's neck with his arm.
"Get on". Howard shouted from inside the helicopter and all of them quickly boarded the helicopter.
The Helicopter rotated its wings and roared to life. After it lifted to the sky. The Helicopter turned completely silent.
"How do you like the Heli. It's my proud work". Howard didn't forget to boast and rub it in King's face.
"Come to my mansion and I will show you my Quinjet". King laughed and didn't care about Howard's boasting at all.
"You always have something up your sleeve huh". Howard groaned and just focused on driving the Heli obediently.
"Hahaha". All three of them laughed at his predicament and saw his defeated expression with relish.
Peggy and Steve's nervousness for the mission was also relieved a lot and they felt much better after the laugh.
"We will be there soon. This Heli is really fast". Howard said and focused on driving the Helicopter intently.
"Steve, you go look for your friend and I'll try to find some intel in the base". King focused his attention on Steve and said.
"Yeah, be careful yourself". Steve nodded his head seriously and didn't forget to remind King.
"Don't worry, they will be destroyed before they can kill me". King laughed and just focused his attention on the scenery outside the window.
Peggy held Steve's hand tightly in her own with some worry on her face. Steve looked back at her and reassured her with his eyes.
"Don't worry, I will bring Lover boy back safe and sound". King saw the concern in Peggy's eyes and laughed to relieve some of their tension.
"Please". Peggy didn't talk nonsense and just requested.
