Mimir's ground II

After Max finished defeating the Goblin Lord, a notification flashed in his mind, showing that he had earned enough System Points to evolve. But now, it felt irrelevant—he had completed the trial.

"You're finally here," Selen's voice called out, as she approached and helped him to his feet.

Max smiled wearily, wiping sweat from his brow. "Yeah, the last one was a bit tough," he admitted.

Selen nodded, her expression serious. "Hmm, the Goblin Champion was surely a difficult foe," she said, her eyes scanning the battlefield.

Max blinked, confused. "Goblin Champion? Wasn't it a Goblin Lord?"

Selen tilted her head slightly. "I faced a Goblin Lord in my ninth trial," she replied calmly.

Max paused, still catching his breath. "Wait, so… I had a Goblin Lord instead?"

Selen chuckled softly. "Don't worry about it. Maybe it's because of my race." She patted him on the back in a reassuring manner. "The system probably adjusted the difficulty for you. What matters is you made it through."

[now you know you are lacking experience] System didn't let go of his chance as he jests at Max.

Max sighed as he looked at Selene , she was an fighter before with vast experience that's why she was able to defeat a stronger foe faster than him.

"I've been too dependent on my overwhelming powers," Max thought as the scenery around them began to shift. Soon, he and Selene found themselves in an ancient room. The place had an eerie vibe, with a severed head resting on a table in front of them.

The room itself looked like an old office or study. There was a large bookshelf on one side, filled with dusty tomes, and various strange relics mounted on another wall. Beautiful paintings lined the room, but something seemed off about them.

"It looks like there's some kind of spell over these paintings. I can't see them properly," Selen said, cautiously approaching the painting wall, her fingers brushing near the canvas but not touching it.

Suddenly, the severed head spoke, making both Max and Selen jump back, startled. "They are for your own protection, young one," the head said with a gravelly voice. Max and Selen stared at it with vigilance, unsure of what to make of the situation.

"You don't have to worry about me," the head continued. "My name is Mimir. This was once my place, long before our world was destroyed. You are the first—and probably the last—students to set foot here in the last hundred centuries." His voice carried a tone of deep melancholy.

Max, still recovering from the shock, stepped forward and asked, "Who… who are you?"

"I was the principal here," Mimir replied, his tone heavy with memories. "This head is nothing but a fragment of my consciousness, left behind before I went off to fight the final battle. I left my will here, in the hope that, if there was even a chance that our world would survive, someone might continue the legacy of my academy. But as you can see," he added with a somber sigh, "we were defeated, and our world was destroyed. This academy, its secrets, and its artifacts—are all that remains. Hidden in this relic of a place, waiting for someone like you."

Max and Selene exchanged a glance, both of them intrigued yet cautious. Mimir's tale seemed heavy with loss, but the mention of hidden knowledge and artifacts piqued Max's curiosity.

"So… what now?" Max asked, looking at Mimir's severed head.

"Now, you have a choice," Mimir said with a faint smile. "Learn from the remnants of this place. Use what's left of its power and knowledge. Or leave and face the world beyond. The choice is yours."

"If we learn from here, can you teleport us to a world?" Max asked.

"If you are talking about the world you came from then yes" The head replied.

Max and Selene looked at each other, 'I doubt he can send us back' Selene said whispering.

" I know, but it will send us at the world where we were supposed to arrive, and it might be the place where we might have to train before going there, " Max said, and Selene nodded.

"we agree" Max said and then the severed head began to hover in air, as he said before flying away " follow me"

Max and Selene nodded as they both came out of the room directly to outside, they looked around as they found themselves in open ground with the severed head.

"As you see the Academy is long broken" he said as he sighed and then his eyes glowed as the Academy begin to convulse, and soon the whole academy was reduced to a round orb, as the head also touched it and vanished.

Max and Selene looked at each other as max shrugged and touched the round orb as he vanished also.

Selene sighed as she too touched the orb, as they entered inside the orb, the orb fell on the ground and soon it turned into an small pebble, lie the may on the ground.

On the other side, Both Max and Selene looked at the vast world around them.

"I created this special place out of remanent of my Academy, specifically for you two" he said.

"ah, yes, what are your names?" he ase.

"Max Potts, Selene Gallio" Max and Selene answered.

"my name is Mimir" he said as two sets of clothes came to them.

"your classes starts tomorrow , for now go and rest, its always been a fortune to teach the students who pass all 10 trials" he said as he flew away.

Max and Selene stood, examining the uniforms they held in their hands. The concept of wearing them for an academy was strange.

"Never thought I'd be going to school," Selene remarked, her voice laced with amusement as she glanced down at the uniform.

"Me too," Max replied, turning over the badge that came with the outfit. As he studied it more closely, he noticed something peculiar. "It also has a map on it," he mumbled, tapping the badge to activate the display.

The map unfolded in a holographic form in front of them. "Hmm, it's quite big," Max noted, his eyes scanning the enormous layout. "This place… the whole space is over 100,000 kilometers wide, but the academy itself barely takes up a kilometer."

Selene looked over his shoulder. "That's insane. What else is here?"

Max squinted as he read through the various locations marked on the map. "The academy includes a three-story mansion, a huge library, something called the 'Inheritance Grounds,' an Art Ground, Rule Ground, Resource Palace… and all kinds of other facilities like a Luxem Hall and utility centers."

Selene whistled softly. "This place is massive… and mysterious."
