35 Are you seeing someone?

"Hey bro! How's work going?" Jinhai asked Yun immediately the call connected.

"I'm busy. What do you want?" Yun asked impatiently wondering why Jinhai was calling him when they just finished talking a while ago.

"Guess where I'm heading to?" Jinhai asked in excitement.

"I don't know. Just save me the stress and get on with it." Yun said while typing away on his laptop.

"Lijuan's home." Jinhai said with a grin knowing that would get Yun's attention and just as he predicted Yun stopped typing.

"What are you going there for? Didn't you say they already left?" Yun asked with a puzzled frown.

"I'm taking her out on a date." He answered excitedly.

"Why?" Yun asked with an annoyed frown. He just didn't understand how his brother think sometimes.

"I told you I like her."

Of course Jinhai had told him he liked Lijuan but he hadn't thought it was the kind of 'like' where he had to take her out on dates, especially when it looked like he had a thing for Shan.

Does Lijuan have such poor taste in men? He wondered as his frown deepened.

"You like Mei Lijuan?" He asked again just to be sure.

"No...no.. not Lijuan... Shan. Her pretty friend. I'm picking her up from there."

"Oh..." Yun unconsciously sighed in relief. He wondered why he was sighing in relief and realised it was because he didn't want his brother hanging out with her to save them both embarrassment because he knew how his brother behaved and was pretty sure Wang Jinhai would end up embarrassing Lijuan with his childish attitude.

"You are going on a date with her already?" Yun asked curiously..

"That's precisely why I called. To tell you you're slow. I only met her yesterday and we are going on a date already. Yet you're dragging your feet so slowly" The sound of the dial button told him Yun hung up already making him grin to himself.

As far as he was concerned he had passed the message across to Yun. It was his choice to do whatever he chose with it.

He drove into the driveway of the Mei family's home and honked the car. He smiled when he saw Shan walking out looking as beautiful as ever, but frowned when he sighted Lijuan behind.

Lijuan smiled to herself when she noticed the frown on his face. She could tell he really wanted to be alone with Shan.

"Don't worry, I know when I'm not needed." She said quickly the moment they reached him.

"Aww, don't say that. Yun needs you more than I do." He said and smiled when he saw the confused look on her face.

"Hi!" Shan greeted somewhat shyly.

"Don't tell me you're acting all shy right now." Lijuan said rolling her eyes before giving Jinhai a wink.

If Jinhai hadn't liked her before then he just liked her even more now and was going to make sure Yun ended up with her.

"Take care of her. If you mess with her I'll find you and kill you." Lijuan threatened as she drew her thumb across her throat making Shan and Jinhai giggle.

"So?" Shan asked Jinhai while wiping her moist hand on her gown. It was Lijuan's habit which had rubbed off on her during the course of their friendship.

"So we should leave now." Jinhai said opening the door for her to get in before turning round to take his seat.

"Where are we going to?" Shan asked nervously.

"Somewhere fancy." Jinhai said looking her over before driving off.

Lijuan was just about to head back inside the house when she noticed Jiaying's car. She smirked in pleasure. She knew Jiaying had probably seen a lot. She didn't bother to wait for Jiaying and went inside.

Immediately Lijuan got back to her room she decided to draw some designs since she was bored.

She quickly picked up her phone when she received a notification from the dating site. Was it the con artist or Sexy Yun? She wondered as she clicked on it.

"Sorry it's coming late. Happy birthday, miss." Yun typed. He had suddenly decided to check on her via the dating site after his conversation with Jinhai.

"Awww, that's so sweet of you. Thank you." She typed with a happy emoticon before asking.. "But how did you know it was my birthday?"

"I received a notification here." He replied.

"Oh... thanks a lot." She sent with a smile on her face. This year was a good one for her. She had a lot of people wishing her a happy birthday aside from her mother and Shan.

"You're welcome." He sent and waited for her to send him another message but she didn't.

After waiting for a few seconds and he realised she wasn't going to send a message, he asked..

So how did your birthday go? Did you have fun?" After a few more seconds, she replied.

"I guess I did. How have you been?"

"Not bad. Still trying to make ends meet."

"So tell me about it. How did you spend your birthday?" He asked again and thought it was a bad idea asking her that since they had both ruined each other's day.

"You know that prude? The one whose pen I took? Well, he's not such a prude anymore. You won't believe he came to my house with flowers in the morning. He also took me out on a date."

"He did?" Yun asked with a smug smile on his face. "Hope it went well?" He asked and waited for her to probably lie and say it had gone well.

"Well.... it was going really well until I misunderstood him and kind of called him names at the restaurant."

"In public?" He asked with a surprise emoticon, deciding to play along.

"Yes. I apologized for it later. I really feel like a terrible person. He was being so nice and I acted like a first class bitch."

"I'm sure he understands." He replied with a smile not believing she had just called herself that.

"I hope he does."

"So since you're feeling really sorry about misunderstanding him how about you dispose of the drawing you made of him? Don't you think he will be super upset if someone else sees that?" He remembered to add. He was going to look for every available means to get rid of that drawing.

"You have a point there." Lijuan agreed and quickly opened her drawing book but couldn't find the page. She frowned deeply since she could not remember ever tearing it out. She began to search around but after a few minutes, she still didn't find it.

"There's a little problem. I can't find it in my drawing book." Lijuan said with a frown emoticon.

"What? Why? Where did you keep it?" Yun asked beginning to sweat profusely. He had just been happy a few minutes ago for succeeding in making her get rid of it but now.. what?

Who else had seen that horrible picture? He really hoped she had misplaced it and someone hadn't collected it instead.

"Here in my room. It's strange I suddenly can't find neither the pen nor the drawing."

Lijuan began to wonder what else was missing inside the room. Was someone deliberately stealing from her too?

"He isn't going to like that at all. I'm very sure of that." Yun said before adding.. "Please find it."

"I'll just have to make sure he never finds out until I find it." Lijuan replied with a sad emoticon.

She was really worried now... was someome coming into her room in her absence?

**********

"So are you going to tell me what happened last night?" Shan asked after they were settled at the restaurant he took her to.

"The thing is... I don't like talking to strangers. So why don't you tell me about yourself first so I can be open with you?" Jinhai asked with a boyish grin.

"How about we do it my way since we've done it your way so far? Tell me what I should know about last night and after we get that out of the way I can tell you whatever you need to know about myself?" Shan said .

"Okay, what if you answer just one question before I tell you what you want to know?" Jinhai asked giving her a serious look.

"Hmm, Okay. What is that?" She asked curiously.

"Are you seeing someone?" He asked nervously.

"Yes." She said with a smile.

"What? Really?" He asked with a disappointed frown.

"I'm not blind am I? I have eyes and there are a lot of people in front of me. Of course I'm seeing you too." Shan said with a grin making Jinhai chuckle.

"You know that wasn't what I meant. Do you have a boyfriend?" He asked again.

"Nope. I wouldn't be sitting here with you if I did. Not that it's a date though I just..." She stopped herself when she noticed she was talking too much.

"Okay. That's good news. And for your information this is a date." Jinhai said heaving a deep sigh of relief. Not that he planned on letting her go even though she had a boyfriend. He would have just fought for her love.

"So?" Shan asked reminding him of the subject.

"I was also at the club." Jinhai said with a shrug dipping his hands into his pocket to take out his phone.

"Really?" Shan asked with a frown. She didn't remember seeing him, not that she remembered everyone she had seen at the club anyway.

"Yea. I sent Yun this picture and that made him come over." He said showing her the picture displayed on his phone's screen.
