Hundreds of firecrackers burst in the sky or void. Damon guessed which was soon followed by cheering noises as the clown announced my death.

Inside a vast expanse of nothingness, a giant stage floated around where a man wearing an attire similar to a clown with all hideous makeup announced in the mic. It was succeeded by the loud cheering voices that appeared out of nowhere, echoing throughout the space.

'Congrats?..huh, I don't know if my death is supposed to be an event to celebrate about..'

Damon, now just a shiny sphere of light that floated in front of the clown, thought to himself as he looked at the crazy clown who announced the death of Damon while laughing like a madman.

"Hahahahahaha"

Yup, he had gone totally mad...

It's been a couple of minutes since Damon arrived in this peculiar space and met the clown who suddenly announced his death.

Damon was just an orphan who had just finished his high school and was preparing for his premedical entrance examinations but died after getting himself into an accident.

After dying, Damon lay comfortably resting in eternal peace, but his soul was suddenly summoned here by this clown who proclaimed himself as the entertainer for higher beings. He summoned me to be reincarnated in another world of fiction as a form of entertainment for these higher beings.

Yeah, like those fanfiction scenarios where the higher beings would choose the world for Damon to travel to while giving Damon a choice of boons he can receive along with some goals that are needed to be accomplished.

As for Damon's choice? Well, he doesn't have any... The clown had already mentioned that it's either he plays along and becomes an entertainment for these higher beings or just get obliterated from the world, losing any chance to live again.

Hearing this, Damon's mind was in a mess, but he immediately accepted the choice to become a plaything for gods. It may be somewhat demeaning for him, but how can he just accept to have his soul destroyed?

He had already died once after living a short life of seventeen or so years. Damon doesn't wish to just end it all and also has a desire to live once again, which these higher beings allowed. Though his freedom is what's on the line here, his will to live is much stronger than his so-called pride, which leads him to his death with no chance to resurrect ever again.

Damon isn't an idiot who would just believe this clown or any random being who would just appear in front of him giving him choices in life. But now, given no choice but to either die or reincarnate as entertainment for these higher beings, it's better to become their source for entertainment and live rather than to die pathetically.

As for arguing with the clown and shamelessly asking for wish to reincarnate without giving up on freedom?

Damon scoffed at such thoughts.. arguing with a being who can easily kill him at will? He hasn't gone crazy enough to attempt such a foolish thing.

If Damon's words doesn't suit the taste of the clowns or the beings who are invested in this and decided to dispose him what can insignificant him could even do against them?

So it's better to just shut his mouth and let the clown proceed as he wished for... Even though this would take his freedom from him in a sense atleast it gives Damon a chance to live once again.

"ALRIGHT!!! NOW IT'S FINALLY TIME FOR THE EVENT YOU ALL ARE WAITING FOR!"

As Damon was busy in his own train of thoughts, the clown suddenly shouted out aloud, almost bursting Damon's nonexistent ears as it announced the start of the event.

"NOW IT'S FINALLY TIME TO VOTE AND DECIDE TO WHICH WORLD THIS NEW SOUL SHALL GO!"

"LET THE VOTING! BEGINNN!"

TING! TING! TING!

Sounds of bells ringing resonated throughout the entire void as a giant magical screen suddenly appeared above the stage.

"THE VOTING HAS FINALLY ENDED AND THE RESULTS ARE..."

1. JUJUTSU KAISEN: 36%

2. BERSERK: 35%

3. THAT TIME I GOT REINCARNATED AS A SLIME: 14%

Damon watched the list go on and focused on the top 5 worlds of fiction that were highly voted.

'JJK, Berserk, Boku No Pico?!!! Damn what grudge do these motherfuckers hold for me?'

"OH THE CURSED WORLD OF JUJUTSU KAISEN HAS BEEN CHOSEN? HAHAHAA"

The clown announced the result with huge excitement as he looked over Damon's soul form with amused eyes, almost saying 'you are fucked, kid.'

'Im Fucked...'

The world of JJK? If Damon was still in his human form, you would have seen the color drain from Damon's face.

JJK... one of the most popular anime during Damon's days of living which was still ongoing... the cursed work of the wicked author Gege Akutami, the honored bastard who made thousands of his fans cry.

The cursed world of fiction with the main character who isn't even the main character of his own anime, the pitiful soul whose life is just full of tragedy and pain.

"This..."

Damon despaired at the thoughts of his destination where even the main cast doesn't have any plot armor.

"TSK TSK TSK KID YOU ARE SO FUCKED HAHAHA"

Looking at the despairing soul in front of him, the clown couldn't hold his laughter and enjoyment as he laughed holding his stomach.

'This moth-'

Damon wanted to curse out loud and beat the living shit out of the fucking clown in front of him, but his rationality stopped him from doing anything stupid.

Damon doesn't want to go and test the limits of the joker who was now enjoying him suffer and get annihilated.

'But... doesn't going to that world also mean death?'

Damon still recalls the powers of villains over there who beat the shit out of the main cast toying with them as they killed humans left and right.

Damon doesn't want to go to the world of JJK even if it is one of his favorite worlds, but unfortunately for him, he doesn't have any say in this.

A feeling of helplessness and anger cross in Damon's heart as he watched the laughing clown who was wiping his tears looking at Damon with a sadistic grin.

"WELL... NOW AS THE DESTINATION IS DECIDED IT'S FINALLY TIME FOR GRANTING THIS NEW SOUL THE BOON FOR HIS NEW DESTINATION"

As the clown said, the holographic screen suddenly changed, and soon another screen appeared in front of Damon showcasing Damon the powers he can choose to have for his reincarnation.
