Chapter 101 - Desert Wasteland

Sitting down at our dining room table while our evening meal was cooking, I started drawing out plans for the city. Breaking it down into districts, I wanted there to be a Market/Business district, an Entertainment district, three Residential districts, and then lastly a Port district. The Residential Districts would be Human, Non-Human, and Mixed so everyone had some breathing room. When it came to doing business in the Market/Business and Entertainment districts, I wouldn't give specific hours for the specific groups to do what they wanted. The Human Supremacists would have to tolerate that minor issue, or they would learn the alternative is death.

"What are you doing dear?", Yuriko questioned seeing me drawing something out.

"Making plans for the city layout. After that spat with those idiots, I want to try and appeal to some of the younger generation. If I can start winning people over to the idea of co-existence with non-humans through marriage and entertainment, I think we can improve the situation.", I stated, "Let me explain the layout."

Going over my plans with her, unfortunately the rest of my family arrived when the Entertainment district was brought up. Of course a man bringing up the modern equivalent of a Red Light District didn't sit well with them. It took nearly an hour to calm them down and explain the situation.

"Ah, so this is for bringing peace.", Bozes sighed with relief, "I thought you wanted it for other reasons. Though we trust you, the other men around you are still potential problems. I mean that George and Gerald...they are a bad influence on you."

"I don't really need to go there, I have a harem of beautiful women. Why would I need to go there? The closest I would be would be one of the taverns where we will sell alcohol.", I chuckled, "Also, they aren't bad guys they just make bad decisions. Think of it as me learning from their mistakes and enjoying the free entertainment they bring."

"This is true, I don't see any issue with that.", Astrid agreed, "You also don't mind if we take girl's night out, right?"

"Of course not.", I assured her, "Just let me know when you ladies want a night out. I can take care of the children easy enough."

"Well that will have to wait, businesses have to be open before we can plan one.", Rei stated looking over my map, "Oh!! You are making three bathhouses!?"

"Yes, I know for a lot of people it's a cultural thing that they enjoy.", I said.

"Are you putting in a spa too?", Shizuka asked, "Oh and maybe a nail salon too?"

"I can draw those up if you want.", I chuckled seeing the sparkles in her eyes.

Approving of the plans, after some slight modifications, everyone thought the ideas were great and would liven things up quite a lot. With that out of the way, we enjoyed our family meal and relaxed well into the evening.

---Next Morning---

Waking up as the sun started to rise, I slipped out of bed and went downstairs for breakfast. Looking out the window, I noticed a layer of frost on the glass.

'Winter is coming.', I thought with a smirk, 'I don't have the luxury of waiting for the construction crews to complete everything. The Port district is something they can work on, everything else I will have to do myself...otherwise we will have people freeze this winter.'

Putting some warm clothing on, I stepped out of the house and headed towards the camp. Getting to work with home constructions first, I made sure there would be plenty of homes in the three districts with room to grow. Laying down electric, water, and sewage lines below the permafrost level, I was confident that they wouldn't freeze in winter. Hooking all the homes up to the three utilities, I then began on the Market/Business district.

While I was busy working on the buildings, people were starting to wake up and notice what was going on. After a while, everyone in camp was wide awake and exploring the Residential districts.

"Victor!", Mirellia shouted running over to me, "Did you do all of this while we were asleep?"

"Yes, I didn't want to see anyone freeze in the upcoming winter. I got the homes done so people can begin moving in. Here is the layout, and the number on the houses on the map represent how many bedrooms there are. Try to match families to the appropriate sized homes, in the event we run out let me know so I can add more.", I told her.

"This is splendid!", she said shivering, "It is rather brisk this morning, isn't it."

Taking a warm fur coat out for her, I put it over her shoulders with a nod. Buttoning it up for her, she let out a sigh as wriggled into it.

"It is so warm!!", she purred, "Wait!! Are you sure you can give me such a nice gift? Isn't this better suited for one of your wives?"

"Oh they already have warm coats.", I chuckled, "They have very warm coats."

Seeing several of them running over to me, Piña was in front wearing one of the Heater Coats I left for them. Running off of small magic stones, the coats could be set to any temperature and they would maintain that temperature inside the coat. Judging by their facial expressions, I was certain they would at a toasty seventy degrees.

"You already finished!?", Hamilton gasped, "How long have you been out here?"

"Probably one to two hours.", I told her.

"That looks like a nice coat.", Piña complimented Mirellia.

"Thank you, Victor gave it to me. Are you sure yours is warm enough?", Mirellia inquired.

"Oh it is!", Piña laughed opening it to let some of the heat out, "It is very nice, we didn't have anything like this back on our world!"

"I haven't seen a coat this nice either.", Mirellia said, "Thank you for the gift Victor. I will begin assigning houses to people now so you can build the Market/Business District easier."

Walking away to do that, I could hear Piña giggling next to me. Glancing over at her, she wore a big grin on her face.

"Courting yet another royal?", Piña teased, "You going to pursue her daughters too?"

"Oh come off it.", I sighed with a smirk.

"We can help you if you want.", Piña said, "I am sure she would accept knowing how nice you are."

"Let me handle it, you just worry about getting your people into homes too.", I chuckled giving her a map too, "Work with Mirellia to get things sorted out."

"Got it.", she giggled.

"Just remember Bozes, Hamilton, and you are my next prey.", I whispered, "Keep it up, and you won't be walking for a few days."

"Hehe...wait!?", she froze up, "What...what do you mean!? You...you aren't meaning...oh my word!! You are going to do some of those things in the book!!"

Scurrying away as steam poured from her head, she looked back a few times before vanishing from sight. Chuckling to myself, I was really looking forward to bedding those three. Returning my focus to the work at hand, I finished the buildings I could for the time being and waited for people to get settled before starting again. While I was waiting on that, double trouble returned from their trip.

"We are back Mast...Victor.", Red Queen stated.

"Affirmative, our mission was a success.", White Queen added.

Having sent them on a mission to retrieve Umbrella Data, I then had them destroy everything so only we had a copy. The chances of someone trying to replicate Umbrella now was slim, but there was still always a chance. With the research and data destroyed, that chance had dropped to almost zero.

"How was the trip?", I asked receiving a Teleporter Watch from them.

"Quite difficult, not all of the locals liked us snooping around the facilities.", Red Queen told me leaning into my back with hers.

"Agreed, they were all very aggressive though that is well within their right.", White Queen said.

Handing me the intelligence they gathered from Umbrella on a USB drive, they told me they were going to go home and rest. Having used their organic bodies like they were still machines, their bodies were exhausted and in desperate need of rest. Giving them some sleeping pills, the two of them retired for the day. Tossing the drive into my system, I started browsing the data they recovered to see what intel we had to work with.

Skimming the virus reach, I got to some of Wesker private files that were hidden away. Opening the file, I discovered Wesker's initial plans then the modified ones when Davoth came into the picture. Finding two other individuals listed in his files, I had a growing sense of unease. Outside of Vader and Davoth, General Zod and a Wraith named Juniper were both named in the documents.

'Shit...one of those shitty Wraiths from Stargate...that could be a pretty big issue. Unlike the others, they will hunt people down to drain them of their life energy. Piña and Mirellia should be relieved they weren't attacked by them, but that means other worlds are.', I thought rubbing my forehead, 'Depending on how big of a Hive they have, this could get ugly.'

Deciding that the other buildings could wait till tomorrow, I got suited up to head out again. As I was getting ready to teleport, Saeko and Maya grabbed me by the shoulders.

"You aren't heading out again without us, right?", they asked me.

"I just got some information that calls for me to make a move now.", I said.

"That's good because we are ready to roll.", Juri laughed as several others came over, "Red Queen said you might try heading out so we came looking for you."

"Of course she did...", I sighed, "Alright, but armor up make sure you stay on guard. Things may get hairy."

"Mind if we tag along too?", Yao inquired as she and Tuka came over, "We'd like a change of pace today."

Agreeing to let them come with us, I made sure they had the necessary armor to protect themselves. Nodding their heads, I teleported our group of ten to the next portal on my list. Finding no guards at this one, I was concerned the other side was already dead. Stepping through the portal before them, I signaled for them to come through once I ensured the place was safe from enemies.

Stepping through the portal, I motioned for them to mask up since the atmosphere was toxic. Doing as they were told, the women put breathing masks on that would use magic stones to produce breathable air.

"How bad is the air quality?", Cammy asked.

"About ten breaths will knock you out, and ten more will kill you. There is no oxygen or nitrogen in the air at all, it's almost completely CO2.", I replied as we left the rocky outcropping we were in.

Coming out of the ravine, all we saw was barren wasteland. The map showed that not a soul was alive here, not even on the microscopic level. On top of that, I couldn't even ID the world because everything was gone leaving only bones of the previous inhabitants on the ground. Teleporting us to larger gathering of skeletal remains, I regretted it immediately.

Finding them all curled up over top of the remains of children, the invaders hadn't shown them any mercy. They completely eradicated all the populace in short order it appeared. Seeing the remains of what looked like household items, toys, and blankets I could hear the women start to sniffle. Something like this shouldn't have happened, but I couldn't turn back time now. All of these people were likely already reincarnated so bringing them back now would be cruel.

"This is fucked up...really fucked up...", Juri said.

"How could they be so cruel...I don't see any weapons among them...", Maya sniffled, "It appears they were just families, not military people."

"This is the reality we face, Davoth and his crew don't care about the lives of those they deem unworthy.", I stated picking up a child's doll, "All we can do is hurry, and check the other portals for survivors...otherwise we will find more places like this."

"Then let's get moving.", Chun-Li told me with a serious look, "I don't want to see any more death on this scale. It doesn't matter if it takes us several days without rest, we need to help them!"

"I know, I promise you I will do my best to prevent this to the best of my ability.", I assured her opening a portal to the next portal site back on Piña's world, "Let's get moving!"
