Chapter 24 - Exploring A New Home (Final)

Walking out of the room that Albus was resting in— she made her way over to the first door on the left side of the hallway— which coincidentally turned out to be right across from the room she just walked out of.

Opening the door she peered inside, only to be met with what looked like a large kitchen.

The room had quite a few counters, all filled with glass, plates, and wares of all sorts from what she could see.

A stove that rather than powered by gas or electricity— was instead seemingly powered by what looked like runes engraved on it. Instantly piquing her interest in learning what those were.

Runes were a topic she hadn't learned much about throughout her stay in the room.

Not only because of how limited her access to information was— but also because of how understudied runes were as a topic, to begin with.

Most people didn't use runes— in fact, they didn't even bother learning them in-depth.

Most people saw runes as nothing more than things used to enchant certain items, and even then, spells can do that too.

However, the potential being runes, much like magic as a whole, was limitless if granted the human's imagination capability to improve constantly.

She couldn't help but look forward to learning about runes, and one thing she was most excited about with runes, was learning if she could power them with her darkness instead of magic.

But that was for later— once she settled in.

She walked over to the fridge, or at least what seemed like it, opening it to check what was inside.

Inside was a lesser extension charm— one that increased the space to around the size of a closet— a small one granted but it did the job nonetheless.

Inside it was packed with loads of foods, drinks, and ingredients of all sorts. She could see some things that she had tried before, and even more things that she had never seen before in her lives.

Odd blue and green-looking tentacles, fruits with spikes and rings, meat with seeds, and all sort of mystical things one would expect to see in a magical house.

Curiosity struck her and she extended out her hand, picking up one of the fruits that had red rings on it, a fruit that looked similar in shape to a pear.

She gave the fruit a sniff— smelling nothing odd on it she decided it was probably fine to eat.

She took a bite out of it.

She instantly regretted that decision because she was suddenly assaulted with a spicy taste that made her mouth water.

It was like she literally had a fire in her mouth, causing the girl to quickly rush over to the sink and spit the fruit out.

Opening the tap— she tried to cool her mouth down.

'The hell is that? Who keeps poison in their fridge like that.'

She thought to herself, knowing it wasnt poison but it definitely made her feel like it was meant to kill her.

It took minutes before it finally cooled down— her mouth that is— with her body still feeling somewhat heated from the mere ghost pains.

With a grimace, she decided to leave this room and just head up to check out her bedroom now— she had had enough exploring for the day.

Maybe she will check out the rest of the house later.

Well, she kinda had to eventually if she was going to live here.

She left the room and made her way up to the second floor where her room was located. Making her way down the hallway she reached the stairs.

The stairs were short so she was able to get up them with ease, only to be met with yet another hallway, with two doors to the left and one to the right.

She already knew which one was her bedroom thanks to Albus telling her before— so she didn't bother to check the other doors and instead made her way over to it.

Opening the door she was instantly surprised by what she was met with.

A large room— easily two times the size of the prison she was in before— and even much bigger than the room in her past life.

It was so big that this one room could have rooms in it, and this was just her bedroom. She could see other doors in the room that most likely led to other private things, like a bathroom and closet.

She couldn't help but smile with excitement as she rushed into the room, closing the door behind her so she could explore.

Aside from being absolutely massive— the room was decorated like how you would expect a young girl's room to be decorated.

Or rather, what an old man thought a young girl's room would be decorated like.

It had pink walls, and most of the furniture in the room was either pink, purple, or some shade that was similar.

With a large queen size bed in one corner of the room that was covered with a pink sheet.

'Way too much pink.'

Was all she could think as she looked at the room.

She liked pink just as much as the next person— but this was way too much for her to enjoy. It felt like a fairy threw up all over the place.

It looked terrible.

But the good part was she could change that— at least Albus said he would allow her to decorate the room however she wanted, and she planned to take a lot of creative liberties with it.

Ignoring the obviously terrible fashion sense of the room she walked over to one of the doors in the room, opening it to reveal a large bathroom and shower.

It was big enough to fit two people bathing at once, that was how large the tub was, and the shower had enough room to move around freely in it.

It didn't have many products though— since she was sure Albus had no clue what female products to buy.

Closing that door, she made her way over to the other door, opening it to reveal a massive walk-in closet.

It was filled with clothing of all sorts, dresses, shoes, hats, tops, pants, and much more.

It was like he bought one of everything in a clothing shop unsure what she would want.

'That might actually be what he did.'

She thought to herself as she glossed over the wide range of clothing types, from princess dresses to Gothic tops.

It was quite something, but she couldn't be more glad to finally get out of her one-themed prison clothing.
